i have fixed the constant loading problem on the cmps page by uploading the new files that are available from vbadvanced, to sort out a few errors with 3.7 compatability

link here

the only things that dont work now are the drop list 'view member profile' but if you click on the user name it is fine, and the archive link gives me an error

Anyone know how to edit the templates?

Smilies selected from the More option don't seem to have the right path on the vBAdvanced CMPS Homepage... The initial few that appear under the window do have the right path though..

Where might I look to straighten that out?

(Moving away from the CMPS Homepage, smilies that were selected using the more option appear correctly. Right clicking the red x on the CMPS page shows that the /Forums/ directory is absent from the path.)

Did you update all the smilies when you ran the CPMS install? Not for this, but the actual CPMS.

I believe I did but to be brutally honest - I don't specifically recall. Is there a means to update the paths for the smiles that might be installed? (I disable the chat window on the CPMS front page and all is well but - I sorta liked having it out here!)

Thanks

Ranger187 05-27-2008 01:49 PM

Just re-run the CPMS install. I think there is a link to fix smilies but not sure. Install is in the /admincp and labelled, or just look for the file name in the zip

Go ahead and laugh at me :) - I just edited about 400 of 'em to insure the full URL was in and voila - it's fine now...

Sorry - learning to say Duh is very tough on me! Thanks

Ranger187 05-27-2008 02:15 PM

Duh ;)

Ugh, you edited 400 of them? Individually? You could have just re-run the install and clicked 1 button.

bbrase 06-01-2008 05:12 PM

For some reason when I have it Anywhere really it is REALLY wide.. I for the life of me cannot figure out why this is happening on the vbadvanced page.

Any help, ideas?

bbrase 06-01-2008 11:02 PM

That is fixed...

NOW my question is how do I get it to appear on all of the "styles"?

superthang 06-04-2008 02:29 AM

does it work on external php page on the server ?

I want to install it on my homepage
that is running php but not part of the forum.

Hello there - I had another mod do the same thing. It appeared to be referenced perfectly with the pages specific to CMPS but no matter, it still didn't prefix the URL properly.
So...

I know I'm not supposed to need to do it but, I located mgc_cb_evo_editor in all the styles I use and found the two links that reference full mode:

Code:

  <a href="mgc_cb_evo.php?$session[sessionurl]do=view_chatbox" target="_blank"><img class="inlineimg" id="mgc_cb_evo_fullmode" title="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_full.gif" alt="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" border="0" /></a>
            <else />
              <a href="mgc_cb_evo.php?$session[sessionurl]do=view_chatbox" target="_top"><img class="inlineimg" id="mgc_cb_evo_fullmode" title="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_full.gif" alt="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" border="0" /></a>

And prefixed mgc_cb_evo.php with $vboptions[bburl]/ as seen below:

Code:

  <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/mgc_cb_evo.php?$session[sessionurl]do=view_chatbox" target="_blank"><img class="inlineimg" id="mgc_cb_evo_fullmode" title="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_full.gif" alt="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" border="0" /></a>
            <else />
              <a href="$vboptions[bburl]/mgc_cb_evo.php?$session[sessionurl]do=view_chatbox" target="_top"><img class="inlineimg" id="mgc_cb_evo_fullmode" title="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/mgc_cb_evo/mgc_cb_evo_full.gif" alt="$vbphrase[mgc_cb_evo_fullmode]" border="0" /></a>

Pages work fine in and out of CMPS now... for me anyways :)

HELP PLEASE!

I think we fixed this in the other MGC area..

jim6763nva 06-15-2008 09:06 PM

Has anyone determined how to fix the continual "loading..." message? The Chatbox on the forum home page works fine, it's just this module that doesn't work. The thing is I've installed this on 2 other sites that were running 3.7.0 and I manually upgraded them to 3.7.1. On the site I'm currently working on is a automatic fresh install with the install script. I'm also using vba 3.0.1. I've double and triple checked all the settings according to the install instructions. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Ranger187 06-15-2008 09:14 PM

So all the forums are 3.7.x, and running vbAdvanced 3.0.1?

If that's the case then it should work. You edit the advanced page stuff?

Yes, all forums are 3.7.x and running vBa 3.0.1. I have not changed the advanced options on the MGC Chatbox, and I understand that it "should" work, but it isn't. :)

Crap, I meant the display and position...

Admincp >> MGC Chatbox >> Display and position >>
Display on defined pages in a variable set to Yes..
and in the Other pages list,, put adv_index in that box...

Yep. Did that. I even compared the settings and set up with the other sites I installed it on and all that I can tell appears the same. If you want to see for yourself, go to http://www.talkmarylandforum.com

I'm checking vbAdvanced's site. I think it's with that. Do me a favor, check the vbAd diagnostics and make sure it says 3.0.1 and not 3.0.0. Because 3.0.0 has that security issue from what I'm reading.

And you run TalkPA? Looks pretty nice like the others. Found some threads in there I might signup for to reply to.

Ranger187 06-15-2008 10:22 PM

According to vbAdvanced site, this is not an error from this. According to Vbulletin not one as well.

I think this is the chat itself. That 2nd error I've seen before. You are running 1.5 of the module right? Sounds like we might have to wait for VbDev to reply.

Confirmed - vBa 3.0.1 All sites.

As far as TalkPA, No. I only run TalkVirginia and Knights Vindication, however I'm helping with setup and administration of TalkMaryland and Friendship-Cafe.
