queball-The time issue has already been adressed... I pointed it out and he showed me it was already on the bug list at the top of the forum...

Dev- are you saying I have the chat too big? or am allowing too many chats to be shown? what is it i have set wrong allowing this to happen exactly.
Thanks!

Playa82 01-30-2008 04:43 AM

No I mean that the height is a fixed size set in the options.

So if a smilie is too big the problem you stated (which is not really a problem) will occur.

Have you tried through the options in the little menu ?

Any errors fired in ie (js error) ?

i think he means that the little menu doesnt show up in the archive (only in the chatbox)(delete...ignore..etc)
only the pm option show up

:D my new ideas:
  1. First thing the Defult channel for the usere
  2. what channels the user want to be inform about (for new shouts)
  3. i think we need an icon for the chatbox rules, we can input our own rules (it will be better to be simmiler to the bbcode icon)
  4. the last thing is when the user isnt allowed to use the chatbox (like he/she doesnt have enough posts) he/she still can see the chatbox (to be motivated )
:p thats it for today

What do you mean ? Do you mean selecting in the admincp the channels that shall be shown active by default ?

I won't do a per user option for that.

What I can do is add the possibility for the admin to select if user should be warn in the channel creation system ?

But do you see these options in the same menu in the chatbox ? You have set the permissions for this command to yes for your usergroup ?

I will see but I am not really "in love" in that idea.

Ah- I have this one too. In the chat I have all options that I have installed. But in the archive, only to view profile.

Well, I had it set to 200px tall. and 25 maximum number of chats. so you can scroll back and read the last few without going into the archive. And it works fine unless some smilies come, then it throws it off. There is always a up/down scroll bar... But when some smilies are there, the chat doesn't line up the last post correctly so you need to scroll down to see it.

If i have it set to 200px tall, and 12 maximum number of chats. there is no scroll bar, and it works fine. That's what I was asking about... shouldn't we be able to have more chats to scroll back and have the chats line up?
Thanks!

I don't understand the problem, smilies are images so they will all the time make the line more or less bigger depending on their size.

The chatbox itself has always the same size whatever you do.

Then the chats are all displayed without up/down scrollbar unless all the chats line become too big to view into the chatbox fixed size.

I can't make the chatbox bigger depending of the number of chats and the fact that there are or there are no smilies in the chats.

You're asking me something really strange and not much realistic.

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /forum.php(540) : eval()'d code on line 56

You encountered that error in the index page ?

I removed this code from line 540 of forum.php and it no longer displays the error, is there a fix for this without removing the code , is this code really required?

i recieved this error in index.php which is my forum.php
my index.php is VBcmps

when i remove this code from forum.php

($hook = vBulletinHook::fetch_hook('forumhome_complete')) ? eval($hook) : false;

the chatbox disappears from the forum.php but shows up in other pages like above post

VBDev 01-30-2008 04:09 PM

What have you exactly removed ?

Coz I suppose you have removed the eval line (hook) from the forum.php and this is not really recommended as none of your forumhome mods would work !

I have never encountered that error, does it disapear if you deactivate the chatbox ?

I'm not talking about the size of the chat.. or that there is a scroll bar. I'm talking about how if there are chats, sometimes the newest ( at the bottom) shout disappears, and you have to scroll down to see it. I don't think I'm being clear, so here is a picture... If this is normal and or expected then that's fine. It doesn't do it for all smilies though... You can see the bottom half of the shout is missing, every time it updates it scrolls up just a little like this:

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 04:15 PM

Thanks

I missed that one

Oh ok, that's a normal thing yes.

As one chat disappear when it refreshes so another one appear and it sometimes doesn't have the same size => it jumps

adnedarn 01-30-2008 04:24 PM

Ok- it's annoying. LOL I'm either going to turn off smilies, or make the number of shouts in the box smaller so it never does that (never will be a scroll bar) :p thanks!

Perhaps a cookie problem. I don't know sorry.

adnedarn 01-30-2008 05:36 PM

odd- it works everywhere else on the forum. Including clicking the name in the "Users in the chatbox"

vnairp11 01-30-2008 05:50 PM

i exactly removed this line

($hook = vBulletinHook::fetch_hook('forumhome_complete')) ? eval($hook) : false;

when i removed this line the chatbox disppeard from the forum but still shows up above threads posts etc.

Ok and error is ony showing on index.php ? not other pages ?

What have you exactly disabled ? only the chatbox through option or the whole product ?

If not the whole product please try to.

Queball_Beast 01-30-2008 08:07 PM

Problem with invisibility, I am always invisible on my board but, in the chatbox I can be seen, is there a way to fix this so I can post a comment in the chatbox and not appear online if I don't make another comment for 1/2 hour while doing other stuff on the board?

Thanks

adnedarn 01-30-2008 08:29 PM

VBDev- will do, thanks.

Queball- already on the Version 0.0.0 reported bugs list above :) look at the top of any page in this topic ans scroll down toward the bottom to see the current bugs list.

maidos 01-30-2008 09:02 PM

when member set their account to invisible mode they still can be visible on the who is viewing the shoutbox now....

and some members dislike that feature :/

adnedarn 01-30-2008 10:50 PM

Maidos- also already on the bug list... look at the top of any page in this topic ans scroll down toward the bottom of the details post to see the current bugs list.

I don't get you, what do you mean ? Do you mean it's long to install ?

This is due to the new command system, this system would allow anyone with some php knowledge to develop their own command so that's in a way pretty cool IMO.

sickboy6ths 01-31-2008 06:08 AM

I can not find an option to move the who's online in chatbox to another tab, like channels.
Is there one? If not then it's a bit sad because the display of who's online within the chatbox at all times increases load, and takes spaces on every page, while if its setup inside a tab etc, it would be imo better :)

There is no option for such behavior.

I could add a button to do so like it was on previous chatbox version but this require a bit of work so this won't be in the next release which I want to release quickly.

stradfred89 01-31-2008 09:33 AM

Thank you Clement, great Chat !! Work fine ;)

yes error only shows up on the forum homepage and not on other pages
i disabled the whole chatbox product and it still shows.

vnairp11 01-31-2008 05:30 PM

I guess this is not a chatbox error issue.

thedark1 01-31-2008 06:57 PM

great hack thanks...as i recall in the previous version there used to be a little x icon next to every chat line to quickly delete it. i know this has been replaced by a drop down list, but shouldn't there still be a little icon so that we know where to press?

thanks again

aranthorn 01-31-2008 08:08 PM

Anyone else not able to get the /announcement working?

edit:
My bad, it just wasn't parsing an apostrophe '

UTF issue possibly?

Dark Cynicus! 01-31-2008 09:37 PM

i cant get it working or the delete command

No seems not. To find out which product causes this error, try to disable one product at a time and you'll surely find the one who is messing things up.

The deletion is available from within that little dropdown menu so there is no need for a little x icon.

Btw now commands are independant from the chatbox so this wouldn't be a logical thing.

Oh strange, I'll have a look at it. Apostrophe should be ok though, I'll ran a test.
