I just installed vbmusic. Everything worked fine. But i am not sure if i understood the mod right.
Can one realy upload songs to a database on my server? or does the script just stream from other websites?

I dont know what you're talking about. I installed, everything was working fine, but seeing the amount of bugs people are having, I uninstalled with no problems at all. So maybe you should check your COMMON SENSE out the next time to go to speak out. You're in here bashing MODS. Why dont you make a mod like this one and stop complaining about it. You're the only one with the uninstall problem. :down:

i read only the first couple of pages before i decided to install it, after seeing problems right off the bat, i tried uninstalling it, but i too have the stupid vbmusic 1.0 link in my admincp, it just wont go away.
this program looked like it had some potential but not now, especially since there is really no flexibility, the layout was nice, but some portions of the page i just did not need or want.

Next time before you even open up your mouth, you should take the time to read what other had to say, because right after you posted a bashing comment about me, the NEXT PERSON HAD THE SAME DAMN PROBLEM!!!!...

SO, do you really want to goto the "COMMON SENSE!" portion of this post?

Common sense would say, listen to the people who are having problems, correct it and then offer to help them correct the issue that YOU MADE!!!!..

it is using stream link from another site ....

place the whole link...in the upload box ...that is how it works for this mod

Does this work on vb 3.7.0 ?

I have a few problems with this mod.

1. I had to read through the comments on here to figure how to use it.
2. This mod maybe free, But i am confused why you got ur site link plastered all over the mod, things like affailiates, Upload Song, Upload 1 - 40, Vb Colder,
3. Copy link send to your friends. had your sites link on it instead of ours, and there is no mentioning of it in the installation on how to change it.
4. No mentioning on choosing our own affialiation for someone who is new to modding forums, owning and they dont know coding how are they meant to know.
5. It feels like your profit making like only helping people who donate and not to others. even though i understand a bit about donating, but i dont think people should be made to donate but donate on their own free will

I think that there should be some user & admin settings to this, because when you add a song, members have an option to download content. which is Illegal free file sharing which i would get blamed for. Because i added the media. Plus there is no way i can see to turn this off unless i actually go into Style Manager and removing this option.

How ever i do like the hack, but i think there should be settings so you can control what access members get to it or post count to access the music. i think there should be a better instructions description on how to change wat and add our own stuff like affailiates. For experienced coders and forum owners this is an easy mod, but i am thinking about the 1st timers who want this mod.

all working for me. i got the permissions prob but that was because i never had a category and a sub cat to go with it. I still cant sdelete catehories or songs (test ones) Did anyone every work this out? surely there has to be an option? I dont want to have ABBA on my forum im sorry. could be a great mod

This is an old music source ported from Dnp Network, spreads around in the Vnese online community for about 3-4years ago. It's not outdated but it has some bugs, vulnerable bugs I'd say. Such as those id variables in music.php or musicajax.php are not filtered against special chars (double quote for instance). This possibly leads to a SQL Injection attack, then database exploit,and finally local attack.

And First poster is not the author of this code, more likely to promote his own forum..

hey just an idea, you should make it where users can actually upload there own file to a playlist instead of streaming it from another website, i think people would like it where they can just upload a file instead of getting a URL.

Admin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Maybe needs better instructions in that you have to tier/add a parent category Ie Music/Video etc before adding Rock/Jazz etc. For those of you want to delete the pre installed Artists why not just delete the relevent tables after or better still edit the XLM code before installing it. With regards to uninstalling there is no problem this must be put down to user error! If you need to ask how to uninstall a xml plugin you should never add mods in the first place lol.

It's quite east to use find and replace in the XML file lol

It's not suppose to let you (I wish it did too) It uses links for streaming. Although you could upload to your sever via ftp and then add that as the url.

I will try that thank you for your help.In the admin cp it says upload songs but every time i try it says i have to pay but it takes you to a foriegn site which i cannot understand i dont mind paying if you get all the functions

They would not be able to view them but I agree they should not see the titles but the fix is simple :)

Just search in music.php for "WHERE NOT ISNULL (thread.threadid) ORDER BY lastpost DESC LIMIT 0, 10"); //You can change the limit default is 10"

and replace with

"WHERE NOT ISNULL (thread.threadid) AND thread.forumid <> 21 ORDER BY lastpost DESC LIMIT 0, 10"); //You can change the limit default is 10"

where 21 is replaced with your forum id number or numbers you do not want to be displayed.

after i isnatted the mod... i added a song and then i tried to play it said ur usergroup doesnot have permisson? how would i fix this issue..thanks

This mod has a lot of potentials but since administrating it is very POOR as you can not even delete a song plus every little features of it is full of different bugs im going to Uninstall it and wait for a better version.
