Thanks for the answer. I suspect that there is some non-standard data that can give problems, because although to you it goes well in all your forums, you already see that I am not the unique one that have this exact problem with the time/date. I repeat: thanks again and I animate to you to follow therefore beams very good products like this ;)

Thanks for the bug fix - just waiting for feedback.

Is there a way to rename 'ChatBox' to something else? There probably is but HTML ain't my thing! ;)

Ensure it contains "define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'index');" at the top.

Here is the top of my index.php file in root

// ####################### SET PHP ENVIRONMENT ###########################
error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);

// #################### DEFINE IMPORTANT CONSTANTS #######################
define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'index');

Any more ideas? I have never had a mod issue or for that fact one from you! YOUR MODS ROCK and have a LOT of them. Weird when I force it it does not show up. I will look at code a little more tonight.

Valter 10-15-2007 12:44 AM

To have ChatBox enabled on desired page:
1. THIS_SCRIPT must be defined in php file (by default all important vBulletin files has this)
2. Hack options - You must add THIS_SCRIPT value for target page to "Show ChatBox on" setting field
3. Main template called on target page must contain "$cybchatbox" variable

To have ChatBox enabled on vBa CMPS:
1. Hack options - Add "adv_index" to "Show ChatBox on" setting field (values in this field should be separated by commas) > Save
2. vBa CMPS Default Settings - add "cybchatbox" to "Portal Output Global Variables" field (values in this field should be separated by carriage return) > Save
3. [Optional] Template "adv_portal" - add "$cybchatbox" to line where you want ChatBox to appear (for example below "$navbar") > Save

Valter 10-15-2007 03:38 AM

v1.9 - Oct 15. 2007.
-New: Not all smilies are loaded on startup. Set how many of them you want to show before user clicks "More".
-New: "/me" user action ("/me" in submitted message will be replaced by author's username, and message appears in color you set)
-Minor bug fixes

To upgrade: Import product XML, allow overwrite.

gothicuser 10-15-2007 04:43 AM

Many thanks Cyb on a brilliant mod.
One request; any chances of either a vBAdvanced mod or maybe suggestions on how to get it to work with vBAdvanced?

blindman4556 10-15-2007 06:10 AM

just installed the new update, and it puts the full chatbox on the forumhome instead of the small version

Masiello 10-15-2007 06:15 AM

It appears in a forum home like a full chatbox and waste layout.
area height (ChatBox) show the same of area height (ChatBox Full) with different settings, 150 for Chatbox and 300 for ChatBox Full.
Downgrade to 1.8.3 version for now.

Masiello 10-15-2007 02:06 PM

The actione messages submited by /me shows only in red colour and not in the color that I set

slyreptile 10-15-2007 02:20 PM

Yea! Smilies are now "fixed"! Great work Cyb!

Valter 10-15-2007 02:20 PM

Thanks for the info BoRoU. I guess this is style/language related.

So adding "%" before time/date format parameters in hack options fixes problem where date/time is not show properly on some forums. Examples: month = "%m", day = "%d",... etc.

If you have no problems with the time and date you should NOT add % as it will be printed as is. So use "m" for month, "d" for day,... etc.

You set this color in hack options and it will be used for all "/me" action messages.

Dream 10-15-2007 02:42 PM

I believe the date problem is because in different languages (with a different locale) vb uses some other function instead of date(), with different parameters

Found it, in vbdate() description

* @param boolean If true, and user has a language locale, use strftime() to generate language specific dates

check strftime() in php.net for the list of date formats used

actually, you should use the forum's default date formats, or warn people to use the right format if they use a different locale.

or I may be completely wrong and this all isn't the case.

edit: someone beat me to it

BozzaJos 10-15-2007 02:52 PM

Damnz, another hack by Cyb... Santa Claus is early this year! Great work Cyb!

One question tho: When it comes to server load, how is this chatbox compared to chatboxes like Shoutbox 2.0, Inferno Shoutbox and MGC Chatbox? Is it the same, lower or higher?

A feature which I would love to see is that new threads are being announced in the chatbox.
Another feature which I would really need in order to use this chatbox is vBAdvanced Compatibility. Are you going to make something for vBA soon? Or is it already present?

Works for me too!:up::up::up:

gothicuser 10-15-2007 03:41 PM

Oops, my mistake.
Having followed your instructions for display within vBA, it worked perfectly, once. When I reloaded the page the shoutbox was not there anymore. Any ideas.
Works perfectly within the forums.

p.s. I have vBA installed in root and the forums in /forum/ directory if that helps.
:D

Nevermind, fixed, isn't a Mod problem :)
Thanks for the new update!

brvheart 10-15-2007 08:41 PM

when I re-imported the update and over wrote, I now have 2 shoutboxes on the VBA portal....

Edit, if I take this out ($cybchatbox) of the template it goes back to 1 shoutbox showing instead of 2

sportsoutlaw 10-16-2007 01:05 AM

I have a couple Mac users that are having trouble with the chatbox. Keeps crashing when they try to post a message.

Any ideas?

Yes, template edit is not required if you enable automatic insertion of CB below navbar or above footer.

Unfortunately I have no Mac to test this and make a fix.

Valter 10-16-2007 07:09 AM

I've added more screenshots today. It now better explains some ChatBox features.

And btw I recommend to all to upgrade to latest version as there is no known bugs and it's better optimized.

kewl1uk 10-16-2007 11:43 AM

Clicks *install* Thank you. Working on 3.6.8

vbAdvanced CMPS integrated problem:
Chatbox below navbar and above CMPS left sidebar with blocks and forumhome. With CMPS integrated on the forums index and the web browser window reduced, the width of the forums index below the navbar is extended by the width of the CMPS side-bar. This will cause horizontal scroll bars on small monitors. This happens even with Chatbox position disabled in options.

Mac Problem:
My Mac users are able to chat but the message formatting options such as Bold, Underline and Italic don't work and the colour selector is blank. Some Mac users are also reporting that the chatbox displays a "Busy" notice. I don't have a Mac but I tried it in Safari for Windows and the Chatbox is fully working in that.

MiBF 10-16-2007 06:16 PM

The server load is too high, it would be great if you can make the cache in an html file, the same way it has been done in в vbshout 2.1 or something like that. Otherwise the server load is just way too high.
CPU LOAD after install Chat:
http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/8...wcpudaydm7.png
http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/9...cpuweekjb2.png

+ we need a way to change a font as well
+ and a way to show the list of active users on the main page

~ and finally – little bug report – after sending a message - there is a single space appears in the field where you type your messages.

evesve 10-16-2007 07:05 PM

I have vBShout 2.0 on my Forum Home.
Can I install this and use it on my special Admin/mod pages?
Any conflict?

Symmetrical? 10-16-2007 07:10 PM

thnks its working perfectly but unforget open AJAX ;)

AWJunkies 10-17-2007 02:35 AM

Works perfect now. I had vb v 3.6.4 and just upgraded to latest 3.6.8 and everything works perfect.
