Did I miss how to quote posts in this style?

Mark Hewitt 10-23-2007 12:26 PM

AFAIK you can't quote posts.

What about pictures, is there a way to see them?

border="0" alt="" />
class="inlineimg" />
img src

Hmmm... Is this still true. I don't see any links to images.

dartho 10-26-2007 03:03 AM

Quoting used to be automatic on all replies, at least under 3.5.x it was - it obvioulsy got broke along the way somewhere (possibly always under 3.6x)

The image links should work for inline images (not attached images) and remving those replacement variables *should* put images back in line as opposed to links.

I'm flat out with other things at the moment - sorry about the lack of updates. I'll try and have a quick test of the inline images tonight and look at the quoting too when I get an opportunity.

Thanks man, I use a earlier version as I do not like all the highlighting etc and have tweaked it just how I want it, can you put the changes in a txt file or email me the changes to show attachments so that I can just add them to the style that I have when you get to it?

dartho 10-30-2007 06:28 AM

You can turn off or modify all highlighting etc by editing the CSS file.

Don't hold your breath for any changes though, it may take a while

imranbaig 11-05-2007 07:47 AM

Very Cool skin.
I wish there would be some one who could code, Search Engine Bot Style Aligner.

dartho 11-05-2007 07:55 AM

by this do you mean if the visitor to your forum is a search engine, it applies a specific style?

flamewar 11-13-2007 03:25 AM

I need help with this ..I am so confused.
There are so many links to several downloads.. I just need to know what I have to get and where to put it for my mobile forum.

Please tell me just what I need TY :)

BTW.. this script/MOD is awsome. I am a mobility member and I am extremely impressed!

dartho 11-13-2007 04:58 AM

I've kept older versions here just in case someone doesn't like/want features added to later versions.

SO, download the latest one - "mobi vbulletin style 2.08.zip" unzip it. Uploads the wireless.css file to you forum root.

Install the style:
Go into your AdminCP, Styles and Templates, Download / Upload Styles.
In the "Import Style XML File" section, browse for the "mobi-vbulletin-style-2.08.xml" file you extracted from the zip. Sleect "yesy" to ignore style version (although I think it is currently set to 3.6.8) and then click on the "Import" button.

The style is now installed!

If you want to add mobile device detection so the style will automatically be applied to mobile devices, you will need to install THIS add-on.

flamewar 11-13-2007 06:41 AM

OK! Thanks!
All done .. crawling on ready.mobi now. Will take a few lol.

I was unsure of the styleID I was to put for each device. There were #s there already so I left them there. I hope those were correct. MObile was 2, PDA was 3 and IPOD was 4. Sound right?

dartho 11-13-2007 10:00 AM

You should have them all the same as you only have a single style to accomodate them all. If you go into AdminCP, Styles and Temapltes, Style Manager and then click on the "Go" button to teh right of the style name, the next screen should have a box at the top left with a heaidng of "Fonts / Colors etc.: stylename (id: xx)" where stylename is teh name of teh style, and xx is the styleid number you would use in the mobile device detection hack

Alfa1 11-18-2007 11:01 PM

Could you please add a version for those of us that have a branding free option on vbulletin? The current version does not remove the branding.

dartho 11-18-2007 11:09 PM

you can simply edit the "footer" template within this style and delete the copyright text which from memory is the last line...

Alfa1 11-18-2007 11:30 PM

Thanks

RedWingFan 11-21-2007 08:24 PM

Dartho: I'm actually testing this skin on a Nintendo DS, and it works fine! I'll tweak the colors a bit to match our site's theme, but otherwise, it's looking good. Thanks much!

dartho 11-22-2007 03:23 AM

vBulletin on a DS - cool!

Kihon Kata 11-25-2007 12:02 AM

Will you be adding blogs to this?

dartho 11-25-2007 05:34 AM

I don't use (and am unlikely to use for at least 6 months - (I'm thinking of a new site)) the blogs add-on...

jetblast10 12-02-2007 02:26 PM

Hi - thanks for the skin. My users are using it with great thanks.
One question that came up was a "View First Unread" link once they get inside a new post.
Would that be really tough to add or tell me how to add it? Thanks again!

dartho 12-02-2007 07:36 PM

You would have to edit the SHOWTHREAD template and place the following code where you wanted the "View First Unread" link to appear.
Code:

<a href="$firstunread"><strong>$vbphrase[view_first_unread]</strong></a>

jetblast10 12-03-2007 10:34 AM

thank you again.

DieselMinded 12-12-2007 11:39 PM

How do users switch back to default style from the mobil one?

DieselMinded 12-12-2007 11:43 PM

Im trapped !!!

dartho 12-13-2007 12:59 AM

<a href="http://mydomain.com/index.php?styleid=xx" target="_blank">http://mydomain.com/index.php?styleid=xx</a> where xx is the default style ID of your site

Comments today from one of my users:

Hiya, been meaning to post this for awhile sorry! When im browsing the mobile version of the forum on my kaiser, there seems to be a problem with going back up. For example, i go into the Kaiser forum, then into a post to read it. If i then click on 'UP' it takes me right back to the top level of the forum, rather than up one level and back to the kaiser forum. Also the same happens if im in a post and i click on 'HTC Kaiser' at the top of the screen. Not a big issue, just a little annoying when im browsing on GPRS.

DieselMinded 12-13-2007 10:46 PM

YEah i added a big link at the top and bottom :)

tekguru 12-14-2007 12:23 PM

Care to share where?

Having display problems on 3.7 test site when using an emulator.

Installed mobile detector and your light style in test site, which installed very easy, and thank you for a no-brainer installation.

Test site has Ultimate Side Columns for displaying some test ads, as well as test ads using 3.7 ad templates.

I don't use mobile devices so I couldn't check site myself; instead I used an emulator that makes test site look horrible, as you can see at this link

I set everything to Yes in vBadmin options, Mobile Device Detection.

Any idea as to what I've done wrong to create this problem, other than problem possibly being the ad systems?

Found Problem. Had wrong id style number set in Mobile Device Detection. Duh.

daiver 12-31-2007 04:38 PM

Thanks! Looks amazing! I'll give it a try.

gabned 01-15-2008 06:07 PM

Someone has this style working with 3.7? ;-)

dartho 01-15-2008 08:19 PM

It should work OK with the forums/threads/posts under 3.7, but social groups/photo albums and any new templates aren't supported - they'll likely just show up with your default style

DieselMinded 01-19-2008 04:36 AM

This is a BIG HIT alot of mobile users now log in to my site

I cant seem to figure out where to change the background color for the forum row, however.

What do I change to change the white background?
