I had synergy installed from the first day it was released. I believed in DChapman, as he had sufficiently convinced me on Zoints through TheAdminZone.com. So now, I have to explain to my members that our forum is no longer welcome on the synergy lists and that they need not waste their time browsing the system, as votes are no longer accepted from our forum.

My main reason I am posting this is not to +++++ or complain, they have a zero tolerance policy and will not re-institute a banned forum, my point is to inform other forum owners that they should consider this when they make the choice to download and install or not. While they can sell you on their product just fine, when it comes down to providing even the smallest courtesy as an email, or warning to allow you to adjust what ever infraction has caused a negative light on your forum, they lack and in a serious way.

I am frankly shocked and I will be removing all Zoints modifications from my forums. I do not appreciate the embarrassment of having to deal with my members and not have an answer to give them.
wow bro thanks in advance for this, i had posted few time about my issue about this if itworks well on a windows server and received no response to this, so i asked a staff at abyss.com where i purchased my server (program) from to assist me in getting this to work.Oh well though i understand this program is free to license members but at least help out the noobs...sorry to go off topic.:eek:

Well I can promise you that the rules were not broken on purpose in any malicious attempt to some how take advantage of anybody. As far as that goes, I have no idea what rules were broken because that was never communicated to me. My moderators simply supplied threads which were posted on my site and follow my site's topic and generate discussion. If there are specific topics that you do not want posted on your system, i.e gossip, since they don't stand up to your standards of "quality content" then specifically state that those particular topics are not allowed. Contrary to your belief that forum topics must be some groundbreaking, in depth topic - the average forum post is about as long as your response to me.

Your response here as you put it just shows that you lack the ability to work with users who sincerely attempt to support you and your products. But I digress, I've made my point and this is not a place to debate, I merely wanted to inform the other admins of your wonderful service abilities before they walked into something they wouldn't do to their worst members, even banned spammers get an email stating they were banned.

Anyway, you're right. We should have communicated better and I'll see what we can do about correcting that in the future. And my post above was lacking professionalism and I sincerely apologize. I make no excuses other than to say something has recently transpired that has left me rather numb to the world. I won't edit it as I don't believe in covering up my mistakes.

I'm sorry you're no longer using Synergy but do wish you all the best.

Well, I would like to ask a question. My boards is in Turkish language so can there be a language switch which allows english posts to appear on english forums and same for turkish so people get what they want in their own language. ??

I dont know whats going on but whenever I try going to any of the links in Synergy the URL I am going to is http://www.satelliteguys.us/synergy.php?do=disabled

And I get a message saying...
We're sorry, the system is temporarily unavailable. We'll be back as soon as possible.

In my Admin CP Synergy is enabled.

Any ideas?

Its working now.

I just uploaded all the files once again and its fixed it. Must have been a corrupt file.

seems to be running fine, however my back links ie board >> forum >> thread links dont work....they are putting in an extra -

so instead of the link being:
www.jaydabhi.com/forum/lounge

it shows
www.jaydabhi/com/forum/-lounge

Make sure the URL to zoints is http://zoints.com, it cannot have the www or any such article in it to work.

Also, is there any chance this could be updated so it is asynchronous? I think it would be much less seamless if the page did not have to reload upon voting for something.

Synergy looked great, but I had to turn it off because of an error.

I use vbSEO and every link to a forum such as russophile.com/russian_recipes/ would take me to the synergy forum rather than the recipes forum. That URL should map to a URL like this one: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=194 Other URLS such as russophile.com/photoplog/ worked just fine as did thread displays. The only issue was the forum views. Let me know if you have any ideas how to fis it because I really liksed the synergy plug in.

It makes tons of blank pages in there and it's annoying.

I am now fully registered and setup.

However, I have a question. Why on earth did I make a forum section call "Synergy" on my site? I'm not getting why or what its used for.

you have to create a forum called "synergy" and link it up to your zoints.

If anyone ever has trouble registering, the fastest way to get that resolved and your forum in the Synergy network is to open a ticket up at network.zoints.com. Just FYI as I know a few have had troubles with this.

I am not aware of a way to remove Synergy from the archives, but I do know the engineers realize this is a pretty big bug so hopefully it will be corrected with the next release.

Synergy isn't near as active as it could be, but I really think that must of been an error you saw. For instance if you click on the newest links section, you would see that all links have been added in August.

The forum called Synergy is to integrate you and your forum into the content sharing network that is Zoints. It's a system that works with forums scratching one another's backs if you will; ala a forum member from elsewhere may see a thread on Synergy that interests him from your site, just like a member from your site could see a thread elsewhere that interests him and checks it out, it's a give and take system with forums working with each other to showcase their content versus letting it get buried.

I am getting this error randomly on my site. It did not start until I installed Synergy. It will happen when I try to click on any link on my forum (forums, PM, Synergy, doesn't matter what link). Any idea?

Hmmm, I have never seen something like that with Synergy but I believe your ticket was picked up by one of our engineers at network.zoints.com so hopefully they can figure that out with you rpainter.

How do i link it up to my Zoints? The directions just said "create a forum called Synergy". It did not say anything else.

I got this modification working perfectly on my 3.6.2 board(my main forum)

So every one! tell your friends about synergy and benefits it brings to your forum.
I'm finding alot of my members are very interested in the content that is being posted.

For people experiencing errors... disable all hacks and slowly enable them and test synergy and when you discover the hack that is conflicting let the staff know, so they can look into a fix for all the people who use that mod.

Hi Tygerwoody,

Once you've uploaded the files, installed the product through the Product Manager, created a forum entitled Synergy, you then need to go vB Options in your Admin CP, Zoints Synergy Options and then configure the settings there. If you haven't already, you will also need to register your forum here:
http://zoints.com/forum.z
to get your forum key and token.

Let me know if you are still having trouble, should that not work.

Thanks 0tolerance. And you are absolutely correct, if you enjoy Synergy and want to see more benefits for your forum, the best way to see that happen is for more forums to join up and share content with one another. Your members will be more interested in Synergy then and so will the members at the other Synergy forums and thus, everyone will benefit who is sharing content.

Yes it does Andy, I've seen Synergy running on both 3.67 and 3.68 versions of vBulletin.

Hmm, if you did register your forum at Zoints.com, with the account that you registered it with open a ticket at network.zoints.com and list the forum you signed up.... and either I or one of the other staff members will get you going ASAP TTG.

I've had this installed on my forum for several hours and while I think it's a great idea, I'm not 100% convinced that it's good for me in it's present form. Some of the linked thread content shown in Synergy is unsuitable for whatever reason and some content is very poor quality.

Are there any plans to build in a better filter to remove unwanted content ?
