I really liked this idea as it, but I'll hold out until the "new" version is released and see if it's what I need. |

So many bugs...
Uninstalled |
How disappointing - I read this thread from start to finish and was getting excited at what looked like a great hack - until I got to the end when it seemed that people were uninstalling it due to bugs :(
Keep up the good work Jan, I have faith in you. What's the current state of play - are you indeed starting from scratch on a new system, or given up on this blog/diary idea for a while? |

damn looks like this mod is a lost cause
-unistalled anyother blog mods? |
I have two questions:
Are the bugs going to be a problem if I'm not interested in comments? I just want threads that noone else can post in. Secondly: what kind of database changes is this mod using? Will it create new tables or will it change existing ones? |

Just a quick question................I'm getting a fatal error when adding a comment to a blog and here is error Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: vb_datamanager_blog in /home/......../public_html/forum/includes/functions_diarycomment.php on line 206
Any help would be greatly appreciated................vb 3.6.2 Kauka |
That is the error that has yet to be fixed, remember this is a beta product, strongly recomended not to use on a live / public site.

That is the error that has yet to be worked on or fixed in this beta. |
How do I instal this? There is no read me file or instructions. Can you tell i'm new lol.
Thanks in advance! |
Ok I figured out most of it! :D I have a few questions though!
I need to know if the stuff in the includes folder gets uploaded into the includes folder already on my site? (I did this just guessing lol) I got everything working except that when I click on my blog to view it, I get a database error message "database has encountered a problem." and I cannot view my blog. I see no difference between the blog feature and the diary except the name? I do not see the features I wanted that I saw on another vbulletin site (this blog setup is the actually only reason why I bought a vbulletin). I want this drop down menu & features. This is how it looks: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/05/2.gif And it also has an option to make it a photo blog: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/05/3.gif Thanks in advance! |
installed thanks;)

Everything seems to work fine except for this:

any news of when you are going to finish this off and bring it out of beta stage?
|
great idea
status of un-beta-ing this? |
seems to be working with earlier versions of vB, but not latest. I'm getting:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: vb_datamanager_blog Pity - this offered what vBlog didn't which is permission control on blogs per user/usergroup bummer |
The only issue that I have with this is that you cannot reply to a blog entry.
Maybe it's something in my site, or if it's a well known bug, I'm not too sure. If there's a fix, please reply within. |
if i try to post some comment to some diary/blog post, alway view this message :
Code:
|
I still can't use the blog version of this because of it not being able to find uploaded images....
but the other thing i'm wondering is if there's a way to change the date on the diary blogs? it constantly says 31, December and i'm not sure how to change that. |
it worked fine when i installed but will not allow replies.. any suggestions
|
i installed this on a clean 3.6.8 pc1 site today.
i immediately got this error when attempting to submit first blog (thread): Quote:
update: confirmed #2 above: also, attempted to manually create the table: Quote:
secondly, @ HIVEDesigner, the intro description clearly states that the "diary" can only have enties by the thread creater; there is no "comment" capability. |
any way to show a link to the blog in the profile?

I've got the same problem with the replies now too... didn't have that before and i'm running 3.6.7
the comment box is really small/short and it doesn't allow you to click into it. not sure why/what changed? |
Great hack. But is there anyway to show the diary entries on the users profile?
