Roxie 01-12-2008 09:36 AM

Has anyone tried this with 3.7?

Roxie 01-12-2008 06:55 PM

Ok..I have it working on 3.7. No profile info, but good enough.

doc_sameer 01-13-2008 08:00 PM

Can we change this:

The Following User(s) Says NO Thank You to XYZ For This Un-useful Post:
to this:
Quote:

The Following User(s) have GROANED to XYZ For This Un-useful Post:
& cant we show this bit inside the post itself rather than a separate box outside the post?

TCE Killa 01-13-2008 10:37 PM

Thanks for this but is there away to completely remove the groan and thankyou results (thanked 0 times in 0 posts etc) from the postbit?

Thanks.

redlabour 01-25-2008 03:23 AM

Installed this on vB 3.6.8 using Default templates and already had the Thank You Hack working fine. Seem to go fine, Groan button is on the postbit, but when I click the button, the screen simply refreshes and both the Thank You and Groan buttons disappear from that post window; however, they still appear on post windows above and below that specific post. If I refresh the page, they reappear in the original window, but nothing is happening? If I click the Thank You button in that same window, everything works as expected. I tried reverting my postbit template, but that didn't help either.
Any advice?
Thanks,
KF

baz_kingfish 02-06-2008 05:20 PM

hmmm....was hoping for some feedback on my issue noted above by now...does anyone have any idea why that is happening?

Bumping the thread is no the good idead and doesn't mean that we will run here and help you...
Try to clean your browser's cache and be shure that your vBulletins templates are up to date.

What are you talking about? This is the Groan thread, I didn't bump it anywhere. I simply asked for help again, and had the courtesy to put my previous post to insure whomever finally did reply knew what I was talking about.

As far as your recomendations, thank you, but been there and done that. Tried on several different computers with clean browser histories. This is a fresh vBulletin install from around January 2, 2008. Templates are up to date...and the Thank You hack works fine. It is the Groan hack with which I am having problems...it is currently disabled due to the problems stated in my original post.

What you have set for option "Integrate this hack with Post Thanks Hack?"
Did you try to disable Thanks hack?
Did you try to reupload the files?

Reuploaded Post_Groan.php to the forum root directory...that seems to have fixed it. Who would have thought files would not upload correctly....weird.
Thanks,
KF

Makes it that you can't thanks AND groan. the same post.

REVHEAD 02-22-2008 10:34 AM

ok thanks Abe great mod

CNBAforo 02-22-2008 07:41 PM

Will you upgrade this to 3.7?

Abe1 02-24-2008 02:24 AM

Once I'm finished with the post thanks version.

CNBAforo 02-24-2008 03:01 AM

Great! Thank you!

tqvn2004 02-27-2008 10:42 PM

I have installed the Thank you hack version 7.2. And I tried to install this hack, but the plugin import stop abnormally (no successful report), and the groan button does not appear. Is this a incompatible issue? (for your information, I am using Vb3.6.2 Patch 2, with default template)

Thank you for an useful hack, by the way!

dancue 02-29-2008 07:44 PM

This is concerning the following:

Quote:

Open template: navbar

find:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
<td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="search.php$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="4" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[advanced_search]</a></td>
</tr>
--------------------------------------------------------------------

place AFTER:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
$template_hook[navbar_search_menu]
--------------------------------------------------------------------
My style, unfortunately, has the nav buttons in the header template. This is causing the search feature to not work.

Any Suggestions?

Do you have a low PHPMemory Limit?

Sorry, this only supports the standard style.

dancue 03-02-2008 11:45 PM

okay. No biggie.

Thanks Abe1!!

No, I am running my forum on dedicated server, and the PHP Memory Limit is 16MB.

It would be nice to have both thank and groan on one plugin, and user can enable or disable one or the other depending on their need. I think both of them are necessary for my site, which is discussing political and controversial stuffs :D

I dont want the same plug-in. Look as the difference in user who use one but not the other. It's resources if it's need to install and no being used.

Craig Ross 03-22-2008 11:35 PM

is there a way to make this so you can only thank and groan at the same poster once in 24 hours but can still thank other posters, to make it harder for 2 posters to just inflate there counts by clicking eachother ?

No.

dancue 04-02-2008 04:47 AM

Are you planning on releasing this for 3.7.x? Or have you already and I've missed it?

mblb 04-03-2008 10:13 PM

It's not working properly for me. The buttons are showing but when you click one they just both disappear. They don't count. I am using 3.6.9 so maybe that's why?

I have it working well with the thanks hack on 3.7 RC 1

unforsaken 04-06-2008 06:33 PM

It works but you have lost some of the functioning with it like search options and such that you have with the Thank You system. But abe has stated that he will update this one he just wants to finish the Thank You button system first. And I have it on 3.7.0RC2

nikki712 04-15-2008 12:39 AM

How can I move the button so that it's on the left of the edit button? My "thanks" and "groan" buttons are side by side, and members are getting "groans" by accident. Can anyone help me with this?

BTW, I love this hack and the "thanks" hack!

nikki712 04-15-2008 05:23 PM

I would also like to know how to allow my mods and super-mods to be able to remove "groans".

itsblack 04-20-2008 02:12 PM

Is that possible to make a turn on and off hack for the closed threads?
