No custom rewrite rules? :(

I know how to make it a .html file I just want to know how to redirect it.

Phooey 09-26-2006 06:15 PM

Wow, awesome add-on, DChapman! I'm going to wait for the next version until a few of the bugs are fixed, but this looks incredible. I can't wait to install and configure it.

It sounds like what you are referring to was the new Zoints navigation structure. It's done that way on purpose for larger forums.

Spiffware 09-27-2006 10:20 AM

dchapman did you read my reply about the archive ad? its on page 4

xtreme-mobile 09-27-2006 11:10 AM

this is great, easy to install

had probs with vbseo as it wouldnt allow me to upload attachments to my forum using internet explorer, this works just fine

recommended :D

great work

KoC 09-27-2006 11:58 AM

The link in the navbar looks not so nice. It would be better at the bottom of the page. My navbar is full and i can´t accept any other links

teenhut 09-28-2006 05:53 AM

I am going to wait sometime before this becomes completely stable. Most of them have bugs and so I won't take risk now.

firefox100 09-28-2006 05:00 PM

I don't find it in threadbit:

<a href="showthread.php?$session[sessionurl]t=$thread[threadid]$thread[highlight]" id="thread_title_$thread[realthreadid]">$thread[threadtitle]</a>

I have the version 3.6.1

Dont' forget to add to your lists of known problems that vbGooglemap doesn't load either, both of them (Members addition and Events Edition).

I'm not able to reproduce this. Please provide the following:

1. Where did you tell it to show? Where did it end up showing?

2. Upon refresh after telling it to remove, was the ad in fact removed?

Does the url get changed or does the map just stop loading for some reason?

Neal-UK 09-29-2006 01:54 PM

EDIT:

Any time scale for when the update will be done, I want this back

sezmar 09-29-2006 05:48 PM

This looks like a great hack, when will the updates be coming?

bada_bing 09-30-2006 01:14 AM

Has this been tested and will it work with vb 3.5.4 ?

KoC 09-30-2006 10:49 AM

We wait for the great Upgrade. The bugs must be fixed before i can use it

Hoffi 09-30-2006 11:31 AM

The explanation of the Template Changes are bad. I did not find some of the Code the Style. And yes, I searched in Master Style too. Using 3.6.1

And I have a wish.
I I use German characters like äöü the Link ist cut there.

Forumtitle ist: WoD1: Jäger die Vergeltung
Link is: wod-1-j-f-108/index.html
Thats Bad. Other Forums have the complete name in the link.
There are Other Characters that cut off the Word like é and some other.
I like to have a translation matrix where I can enter a translation like
é = e
ä = ae
and so on.

and one last thing. I like to rewrite the User Profile Pages too. Is that possible?

corsacant 10-02-2006 02:10 PM

I'm waiting for the bugs to be fixed then I will be installing this straight away.

Zoints 10-03-2006 03:51 AM

Will someone with the gallery, links, or other such program bugs please open a ticket at Zoints.com/support.z with a temp FTP account and temp admin account so we can look into getting this fixed.

Thank you.

We should have the other bugs fixed this evening. The gallyer type bugs will be fixed when someone provides us working logins.

Actually, it turns out that Zoints SEO does not use the u variable. Could you be using something else that would cause that problem?

Zoints 10-03-2006 04:28 AM

Zoints SEO 2.2.2 has been released. As of this posting, there are no known bugs, only incompaitibilies with some modifications and non english characters.

If you find any bugs, PLEASE post them. Thanks!

Looks like all administrators will have the option to Rewrite URLs w/o mod_rewrite

But if one has mod_rewrite available, is it better to use the mod_rewrite for URL rewrites or is it better to use the rewrite option that does not use mod_rewrite?

The instructions allude that the only difference is that the mod_rewrite option can hog up more processing speed. So my question is, if everyone has the option to not use mod_rewrite, why even offer the mod_rewrite option if it's gonna accomplish the same URL re_writes, but only consume more processor resources?

Just curious... hopefully this hasn't already been discussed (cuz I could not find the answer in searching this huge thread).

waaawo man

MrLeN 10-03-2006 01:25 PM

I have vba links installed -- is there any sort of work around I can use so that I can use both (seeing as though links in not compatible with Zoints)? as far as I can see, the only problem is the base href in the template. If I remove that, I think it should still work.

Edit Oh and also.. Can someone tell me why if I turn it on to:

"Rewrite URLs and insert keywords" -- Then when I try to click into a category, I get a dead page.

But f I use: "Rewrite URLs and insert keywords", it works fine.

I have mod_rewrite turned on, and I just double check the instructions. I have done everything correctly. I am using vB 3.6.1

spjeff69 10-03-2006 01:34 PM

So once this is installed, and vBulletin releases a new version, will there be any problems upgrading?

project-Buckfas 10-03-2006 06:35 PM

All I can say is WOW! I had this installed since the day it was released. It has worked wonders!

Thanks DChapman!!

rezapci 10-03-2006 07:11 PM

Gush!!

Just like any other hack, you overwrite everything...

gothicuser 10-03-2006 08:02 PM

Hot damn..... finally find a decent SEO for vB for free only to get shot down simply because we use vBA-Links/Gallery :( :(

tyler_d 10-03-2006 08:26 PM

this add-on is amazing, I had no issues with install... it worked just as the instructions said. I am on vB3.6.0 and my URLs are now Search Engine Optimized just as good as they would've been with the encrypted & $150 vbSEO.

So glad this free add-on was released and DChampman finally fixed the bugs!! :) Happy camper here!

Install it, if it doesn't work, file a ticket with the Zoints network so they can get the bugs worked out.

unitedpunjab 10-03-2006 09:39 PM

i get this error "No input file specified."

Installed and really liked it apart from
Quote:

Zoints SEO is currently incompatible with:
1. Incompatibility with vBA Gallery link.
2. Incompatibility with vBA Links
Then uninstalled it. Trouble is, the forum it is installed upon is fairly active, and is rendered untennable because of the incompatibility, so any time delay between install/ticket submission/repair would make it not a viable proposition :(

flindersredclaw 10-04-2006 09:12 AM

Very cool.

However, clean install on 3.61 clean

options like dynamic guest message has no [edit][delete]
same for the dynamic permission message.

also is it ok for the keywords to be added and followed by f11 or f45 or what ever?
