Moving the sidebar into the header and footer would be quite an intensive process really, which I can't easily explain here in a post. You'd basically have to move the table that contains all that info from the FORUMHOME template into the header and footer templates. I'm also not sure if the statistics portion will work on any page besides the forum homepage, so even if you move it, that section might only work on certain pages unless you're able to right a plugin that can pull the information you need on every page. If I wasn't swamped with school and work right now, I'd be more than happy to help, but I doubt I will have any free time until the term ends in December.

As for the ads in that column, you'd just have to copy and paste one of the tables that's in the FORUMHOME template below itself and just change the title of it and the HTML content.

The .XML file has been updated to vBulletin 3.6.3, but there weren't any changes in the templates.

When installing it states:

Quote:

This file was created using a different version of vBulletin from the one you are running.

Your version: 3.6.2
File version: 3.6.3

Andrew 11-09-2006 02:25 PM

Yeah - You're running a vBulletin 3.6.2 installation, which is why you're getting the error. You either need to upgrade to vBulletin 3.6.3 or check the little box that says something about ignoring the file version (There weren't any changes between 3.6.2 and 3.6.3, so it will work just fine.)

jyajay 11-09-2006 11:28 PM

Hi Andrew,

I installed Firefox 2 and checked my board and your demo again - got the same thing here also. So it can't be only IE7 related. (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0)

Viper007Bond 11-10-2006 06:11 AM

Well in IE6, I have to scroll down to actually see the footer bar, even if the content is really short.

Which is odd, because it should render as it does in FF & IE7 -- at the bottom of the content rather than the bottom of the page.

rcristel 11-10-2006 06:55 PM

I installed this skin and after I added forum categories it appears that the 2nd set of forum categories are all messed up...

See the error here: http://www.playstation3forums.com/forums/

VB version 3.6.3

jyajay 11-10-2006 07:20 PM

I'd guess that you don't have a parent category for the 'Other Stuff' forum and whats under that. Just create a category for that.

rcristel 11-10-2006 08:04 PM

hmm... But the "Other Stuff" category is a main category and as far as I understand it their shouldn't be a parent category on "Main" categories...

take a peak at the screenshots as to how the categories look from vb admin...

AnimalLover21 11-10-2006 08:40 PM

im recently returning to this whole VB thing and i've just upgraded to the newest version and this forum style ties in really well with my current website design so ive installed but im either missing a mod that needs to be added or something but the left hand section does seem to align right? this is a fresh install of everything pretty much, i removed all files, redid all the new ones then it updated all my databases. can you advise as to what im missing or something i need to change? thanks

jyajay 11-10-2006 10:03 PM

Did you really set "Act as Forum" to no on your first forums?

I had the "Act as forum" field checked and that seemed to be what was causing the problem. I just unchecked the box and now it seems to be working fine...

how can i fix it ?

The solution for this is very simple for IE.
In the postbit_legacy is writen for this colume "width=175px".
And a small calculation, the buttons are bigger then that together. And IE is a little bit dumber then Mozilla. He can't make a new line. That is the problem.

Change this line in postbit_legacy

Before:

</tr>
<tr valign="top">
<td class="alt2" align="left" width="175px" style="border: $stylevar[cellspacing]px solid $stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]; border-top: 0px; border-bottom: 0px">

After:

</tr>
<tr valign="top">
<td class="alt2" align="left" width="20%" style="border: $stylevar[cellspacing]px solid $stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]; border-top: 0px; border-bottom: 0px">

Thanks for the info Tom - I'll look into adding that fix to the actual style when I release the next update.

www.thepennystockblog.com/bulletinboard

I'm assuming its something i screwed up but can't figure out what or where.

Any ideas.

Andrew 11-19-2006 06:31 AM

My guess is you uploaded the images to the wrong place - All you needed to do was upload the images folder in the archive over top of the images folder that was already there. It'll add the correct directory structure for it to work then.

I uploaded all the files in the images file directly into the immage file on my board/root.

for a second try I uploaded the blaze folder into the image section. So now under images I have a folder called blaze.

I was thinking I brought the contents to far up the ladder and should've left the blaze folder. Maybe one of them didnt upload I'll go mess around.

keithsan 11-20-2006 01:46 AM

messed around with it. couldnt fix it. re- uploaded everything again but nothing changed. I get the feeling I uploaded everything one level to far altering my original vb to look part blaze, part vb orig, and not all files were allowed to be transfered for names or whatever reason..

Think I'll just switch styles see If i can get a different one integrated correctly.
Maybe I can just return to the orig.

once I figure this all out, I'll upload it again as I like it.

GFX Brands 11-21-2006 07:42 PM

Andrew 11-22-2006 04:23 PM

The .XML file has been updated to 3.6.4, but there have still been no template changes since 3.6.2 was released.

You'd need to move that column of the table in the FORUMHOME template to the other side.

You need to change the class to vbmenu_control_alt to get the navbar class with the transparent background. An easier way would just be to copy and paste one of the existing links and change it to what you need for the hack.

RealRnB 11-24-2006 10:49 PM

thanks for sharing

Ghostspy 11-25-2006 01:49 PM

For reputation..

Positive

(http://www.epicdesignz.com/testvb36/...tation_pos.gif)

and

Negative

Andrew 11-28-2006 02:35 PM

No - One has a minus sign on it, and one has a plus sign on it.

stako 12-20-2006 07:00 AM

Hello to everybody,

I'm having some issues with this and another style created by Andrew, vBadvanced is the problem, all main forum pages are ok. You can check out the following links to see what I am talkin about:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=168

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=170

Thought I'd post these in here too just in case someone has allready resolved these for Blaze.....

Any ideas are welcome, thanks....

PS. Both styles are awesome and working 100% perfect with vBulletin forum, its just stupid vBadvanced that's causing me problems.

stako 12-20-2006 10:02 AM

Ok, problem fixed, some times you miss THE moste obvious things.....

It turns out the path (for whatever reason) in the vBadvanced page for all these images was incorrect, I just copied the images where it looks for them and now all is ok... Not exactly the best solution but it works so its ok! :)

It can be removed from the forumhome template, although you'll have to modify the navbar and forumhome template to put some of the things back that I moved there.
