Maybe you have to switch reputation ON in vBulletin's ACP Options?

This mod doesn't control if you see reputation icons or not...

yaoren 08-05-2007 12:06 PM

I installed hack...installed images...Enabled hack... and it shows no pips.
I got the red x in the corner along with the text "Jock in on a distinguished road'
Reputation is switched on
running 3.6.7
Any idea why this is happening?

Paul M 08-05-2007 12:07 PM

I would guess you installed the images in the wrong place if you have a red X.

yaoren 08-05-2007 12:17 PM

That's what would be the natural assumption so I triple checked and once more for luck.
The icons are in the forum/images/reputation folder.
When I look in the folder they are all there but as soon as I enable the hack, no pips show up :(

p.s... Welcome back Paul... have a nice holiday? :D

deezelpope 08-05-2007 12:33 PM

<i>Not to step on Paul's toes, but did you upload the images to all your styles' reputation images folders?</i>

yaoren 08-05-2007 12:36 PM

Yes I did... but I just figured out what went wrong. :erm:
I uploaded the images to the correct folder... BUT... I upped them to the wrong forum... lol.
I upped them to my test site but I was looking for them in the live site. :D

There ya go people.. let that be a lesson to you if you use a test site...always make sure you know what forum you're looking at compared to where you uploaded to. Lolol :D

deezelpope 08-05-2007 12:43 PM

LOL...oops! I'm glad you got it figured out!:D

yaoren 08-05-2007 12:49 PM

Hehe.. me too :D
I only have 4 skins and it's working on 3 of them... just gotta figure out the last one, it doesn't want to co-operate.

Paul M 08-10-2007 07:43 PM

A point per pip is a bit extreme, you will very rapidly expand to silly displays.

LCN2007 09-01-2007 02:43 AM

Very Nice Paul I will install and click intall at home.

teenhut 09-02-2007 12:37 PM

Can we have some Platinum blobs/or any other colour after golden or something like that?

Thanks Paul, got mod, installed.

I have a query though,

I have just installed on a new vbulletin installation, no themes, and when the hack was added it has lines through it's name in manage products as if it's disabled.

I activated Reputation through ACP but it was still the same.

Have I done something wrong??

Thanks.

I am having the same problem, using 3.6.8. I have rep enabled, and I have the product enabled, yet I am getting the crossed out lines as well.

Paul M 09-09-2007 08:26 PM

The product needs to be enabled in the product manager, it currently installs disabled.

There is no real reason why that is, I guess it must have been disabled when I exported the xml from my test forum - I'll update the xml later.

apokphp 09-09-2007 08:28 PM

I had the same trouble, then enabled it, and it works perfectly now.

Thanks Paul.

Paul M 09-09-2007 08:31 PM

Zip updated so it installs active.

apokphp 09-09-2007 08:40 PM

I do have 1 question though...in your screenshots, the pips are tight together, on my board, there are spaces between the pips.

How can I remove the spaces?

Paul M 09-09-2007 08:47 PM

Turn off template comments in your ACP, you shouldn't use that option on a live forum.

apokphp 09-09-2007 09:03 PM

Oops! Forgot I left that on. Thanks. ;)

thanks - that did it :D

Wonderful modification. I find it very useful to have more bars to display now.

For those that do not like those stars and just want the bars, delete or comment out the following code in the plugin. :)

Code:

                        $count = $linemax_cnt;
                        while ($count > 0 and $repval > $linemax_val)
                        {
                                $count -= 1;
                                $repval -= $linemax_val;
                                $posneg = $repx;
                                $linemax_exd += 1;
                                eval('$post[\'reputationdisplay\'] .= "' . fetch_template('postbit_reputation') . '";');
                        }

Brynshe 09-25-2007 08:48 PM

Dumb question, I'm new at this installation stuff, and I can't find this:
Quote:

Copy the new gif images into your '/images/reputation' folder.
Where do I find these folders?

deezelpope 09-25-2007 08:57 PM

<i>In your FTP program, in your forum's root/index.</i>

Sory for being thick, but where is this option?

Paul M 09-27-2007 10:20 AM

vBulletin Options > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments

gakousei 10-04-2007 08:28 PM

Thank you for this mod, that's what I was looking for:up:
I just want to modify it a little bit to fit my forum better. I tried by myself but I couldn't succeed.

I want that the stars appears after the pits not before. Like that :

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1191533092

What do i need to change ?

Paul M 10-04-2007 08:36 PM

You cannot do that without re-writing it slightly.

gakousei 10-04-2007 09:58 PM

If it's only slightly, do you mind to tell me what I have to change in the code ?

Paul M 10-04-2007 10:49 PM

Sorry, it's not that slight that I can just list it in a few lines.

gakousei 10-05-2007 12:14 AM

:erm: I see...
I thought I just have to inverse some lines. I tried to change the .xml file's code but nothing works.
I wish I could have the skill to do that by myself but it seems to be too complicate for beginners.
Too bad I can't receive any help for this request.

gakousei 10-05-2007 07:55 PM

Sorry to be persistent, but I tried a lot and I can't find any issues.
At least can you tell me what do I need to change ?

Paul M 10-05-2007 10:57 PM

Sorry, the code is provided as is, I do not have the time to look into an individual re-write.

As best I remember (this is a very old modification, in fact the first one I ever released) the whole process relies on starting with the total score and subtracting downwards, which means you have to start with the largest value icons (i.e. the stars). So you can't just re-order them.

nyqnzguju 10-13-2007 04:19 PM

Hi

How How Can I show The Starts

JoyB 11-01-2007 05:42 AM

This is great - thank you very much :)

haytham 11-02-2007 10:57 AM

Thanks. Installed. At first it didn't show but I found that I had disabled reputation from Admin CP. All good now.

Barteh 11-16-2007 07:37 PM

Are there any special steps to be followed when upgrading from a previous version? I'm not sure which one it is, but it's probably about two years old.

I assume you need to uninstall the previous plugin first and I'm assuming this action won't affect the rep fields in the user database in any way - but I'll probably be murdered in the streets if it does :eek:
Paul, if possible I'd like some confirmation on this :)

Paul M 11-16-2007 07:53 PM

What version do you have installed ?

Uninstalling it will not affect any actual reputation scores, but depending on what version you have, you can probably just import this with overwrite = yes (and upload the latest images).

BuRaCh 11-16-2007 07:59 PM

nice idea
thanks;)

My predecessor installed it, he didn't hand over the original files and I don't see any version numbers in the code. If this helps, I found out he installed it on 9 july 2005.

Code:

if ($vbulletin->options['erenable'])
{
        if ($posneg <> 'off')
        {
                $repval = $post['reputation'];
                $post['reputationdisplay'] = '';

                if (!$post['reputationlevelid'])
                {
                        $post['level'] = $vbulletin->options['reputationundefined'];
                }

                $linemax_exd = 0;
                $linemax_val =        ($vbulletin->options['erbav'] * $vbulletin->options['erbac']) +
                                                ($vbulletin->options['erbbv'] * $vbulletin->options['erbbc']) +
                                                ($vbulletin->options['erbcv'] * $vbulletin->options['erbcc']) ;
                $linemax_cnt = $vbulletin->options['erbac'] + $vbulletin->options['erbbc'] + $vbulletin->options['erbcc'] ;

                if ($repval == 0)
                {
                        $posneg = 'grey';
                        eval('$post[\'reputationdisplay\'] .= "' . fetch_template('postbit_reputation') . '";');
