I read through all the posts and I too would love to have this show with the "who's online" module in VBA. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this?

jw00dy 10-24-2006 10:14 PM

email sent. Thanks

Ascor 10-26-2006 11:31 AM

Installed and all work nice, thank you Paul M :)

Delw 11-06-2006 02:15 AM

Paul I tried to install this hack but ran into some problems. Errors on vb.

I want to make sure my dirs are correct.

I have forums/flashchat
one of the erros I got I thought said chat and I was wondering if it could have been that my dir is "flashchat" and not "chat" or is my flashchat dir in the wrong place.

sorry I couldnt remember the error msg as I just upgraded my board and freaked when I saw it so I uninstalled it and made some mistakes LOL long story.

One of the options when you have installed it is the folder name

(Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Is Using Flashchat).

The default is 'chat' so you would need to change it to 'flashchat'.

Delw 11-06-2006 01:23 PM

theres nothing in the xml file to change before I install it again?

Thanks Paul I will give it a shot tonight

Works Great! Thanks!

lifesourcerec 11-15-2006 10:34 AM

I've added this to the top of forumhome. How do I remove it from the bottom? Can't find the code.

TCB 11-15-2006 08:08 PM

Yes, I would also like to have this one shown on top of the forum (instead of the bottom). I used to use an addon for this, but that one isn't working anymore with your latest hack.

Princeton 11-16-2006 05:44 PM

great mod paul

comes in handy ... especially, when all the work is done for you

Gord 11-25-2006 03:50 PM

since installing this, i've added a new member category and they can't see it ... should i uninstall and reinstall, or is there a quick fix for this ...?

Paul M 11-25-2006 03:56 PM

Just edit the settings in the ACP

popowich 11-27-2006 06:41 PM

Is it a good idea and is it even possible to build some of the flashchat links into this mod? For example, some of my members would like to be able to invite a member from the forums into a chat room. The auto-login already works. Can you say click their name in the "who's chatting?" box within vbulletin or go into their profile and have an option to "invite to the flashchat" or to a specific private room? I'd expect that they would either get a pop-up (might get blocked) or a private message with a link to follow?

Fatal error: (null)(): Failed opening required '/home/thepenn/public_html/bulletinboard/chat/inc/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/thepenn/public_html/bulletinboard/index.php(63) : eval()'d code on line 75

Note point 9 :)

9. The location of the flashchat folder is now an ACP option

I like the bullet. But, all is see is location of flash chat with the answer as "chat"

I changed the answer to "forumhome" and had errors. Obviosly its something stupic on my part I would be happy if it ended up in site statistics on the left side of my site. If it had its own box I wouldnt mind either, I'm not to picky.

any ideas someone else must've asked, I cant be the only one

Paul M 12-03-2006 01:44 AM

Erm, I have no idea what you are saying, but you mentioned earlier that your errors were due to your chat being in a folder called chat1 (not chat) - so you should have fixed the error by setting that option to 'chat1'.

sorry paul, I know your busy.

I'm just looking for a way to move the " who's chatting" from the bottom of
my site to left side area of my homepage. Its working great and I'm sure my answer is somewhere in these pages, just haven't had time yet.

thanks again.

Paul M 12-03-2006 02:43 AM

It's not really designed to be moved, allthough all the options are provided - you would need to disable the auto template injection and manually edit your templates to display what you want, where you want.

trd167 12-08-2006 08:20 AM

installed and up and running thanks!

jdebler 12-08-2006 03:23 PM

Shoot. I installed this and when I loaded my index page, it was just a blank white screen. When I disabled it, things were back to normal. Anyone else experience this?

Paul M 12-08-2006 03:46 PM

That's usually a sign of a php error, but error display being disabled on your server by default.

Add this to your config.php ;

PHP Code:

ini_set('display_errors''On');

Hi there,

I would like to translate the text of the file into German ... unfortunately I have no idea, which parts of the file can be altered without causing mistakes. Can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi, please check out www.vbhacks-germany.com. There you will find a german translation of this mod ;)

mikoo 01-03-2007 03:33 PM

- thanks, but the hack there does not really work. I still would prefer to translate the hack on my own. Can anyone help?

Paul M 01-03-2007 05:25 PM

You edit the phrases at the bottom of the xml file - or edit them in your acp after uploading.

ChevyThunder 01-05-2007 10:53 PM

got everything installed and it works great
except for one glitch
when I hit the forumhome page tab when opening up that page from the ACP
it gives me this error

Warning: Unknown(/home/content/c/h/e/chevythunder/html/chevythunder/chat/inc/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /forumhome.php(63) : eval()'d code on line 6

Fatal error: (null)(): Failed opening required '/home/content/c/h/e/chevythunder/html/chevythunder/chat/inc/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/c/h/e/chevythunder/html/chevythunder/forumhome.php(63) : eval()'d code on line 6

it only does this with the chatters in chat room mod installed
once I remove that - it works just fine

any ideas what I should do, otherwise everything seems to be working fine

Paul M 01-06-2007 03:15 AM

Is your chat folder in the vb folder (i.e. with the admincp and modcp folders) ?

I'm a bit confused by your post as well, are you saying you get that erro when this mod is installed, or some other mod ?

PyroChixRock 01-06-2007 06:59 AM

thank you for the mod!

DaNIEL MeNTED 01-07-2007 06:48 PM

Hey Paul...

Wondering if you could save me some time before I look through the code. I was thinking of changing my navbar so it shows the # of people chatting (in order to entice more people to use chat).

Is there a variable or function I can call from your this plugin in my navbar?

THX!

hi Paul... in regards to my previous post here.

for my navbar code; would the number of active users should appear next to the link, as with forumhome_start, as long as i copy the Plugin PHP Code to hook location forumdisplay_Start? changing the template cache accordingly. i know it's a lot of unnecessary code. can you specify the specific i would need to call the correct number for $totalchatters?

Code:

                <if condition="$show['member']">
                        <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="chat/flashchat.php$session[sessionurl_q]">Flashchat: $totalchatters</a></td>

Would you mind helping me with this, too? I've added the chat link and the $totalchatters code to the navbar, but I am confused on what else to do to get the number of chatters to show next to the chat link.

PyroChixRock 01-08-2007 07:47 PM

never mind I figured it out. Thanks for the awesome mod!

Hehe. Thanks... I saw that afterwards but haven't had time to test it out. Still working on getting photopost classifieds to work with iTrader and to send PMs vs emails. Will give it a shot over the weekend.
