What do you mean? In the new version the readme.txt mentions nothing about how to upgrade and above it only talkes about upgrading from version 1.0 to 1.0.1

How do I upgrade?
If you are upgrading from v1.0 or v1.0.1 of this mod, just upload the 3 PHP files, making sure to overwrite the old ones. There is no need to re-import the Product XML.

The same Way works without Problems.

redlabour 06-02-2006 07:42 PM

Does it make a Difference ? No.

So what did you have to do ?

Overwrite everything.

I still do not know why are you asking this for a simple Plugin and Filebased Hack like this.

Boofo 06-02-2006 08:16 PM

Not everyone is comfortable enough to know exactly how something works. ;)

Keyser S?ze 06-03-2006 01:32 AM

i tell u, would be really nice if it was set so if ur the one moving or deleteing or whatever a thread that u urself made, it dont PM u

i mean thats just a waste i got to delete a PM that is in my box cuz i moved my own thread ;p

In other words, it doesn't matter if you are upgrading from version 1.0 OR version 1.0.1, the upgrade instructions are the same - just upload the 3 PHP files :)

Also, the next version won't send a PM if it's your own thread/post/etc your moderating :)

Edit: I have changed the upgrade instructions in the first post which will hopefully prevent confusion

Thanks,
Alan.

Keyser S?ze 06-03-2006 02:56 PM

IMO its better to import the new product and overwrite it, may not change anything but it does change the version number

say 3 months from now ur just looking to see if anything is out of date, and u see u dont have the same version as the current one, (even tho u really do)

doent take but 15 secs

home9000 06-03-2006 06:38 PM

can you please add to send PM if the title of thread change

Alan @ CIT 06-04-2006 11:12 AM

I will try to add that to a future release, no promises though :)

Thanks,

Eagle Creek 06-06-2006 06:25 PM

Before I install:
Who is the sender of the PB?

I want to have a 'forum-bot' or an admin account to send all the PB's, not the individual mod.
Is that possible?

Alan @ CIT 06-06-2006 06:30 PM

Eagle: You can choose an account to send the messages from in the AdminCP Options. If left blank, it will be sent from the moderator who altered the thread.

Thanks,
Alan.

Any plans to port this for 3.6? Could you let us know when it's been fully tested on 3.6? It's not something I want to lose on upgrade.

Alan @ CIT 06-08-2006 10:14 AM

With regards to v3.6 Beta 1, I will be installing 3.6 tonight and testing all of my mods.

I will post the results this evening.

Many thanks,
Alan.

stinger2 06-08-2006 01:44 PM

great hack alan....one question before upgrading...
should i delete the changes made in version 1.0??
i mean the ones in hooks_vbulletin.xml and postings.php

instructions for edit / delete thread
Quote:

-----------------------------------------------------
open $vbuletinroot/includes/xml/hooks_vbulletin.xml
[find]
<hook>threadmanage_complete</hook>
[add below]
<hook>threadmanage_editthread</hook>
<hook>threadmanage_deletethread</hook>

open $vbulletinroot/postings.php
[find]
eval(print_standard_redirect('redirect_editthread' ));

just above his

add

($hook=vBulletinHook::fetch_hook('threadmanage_edi tthread'))? eval($hook) : false;

find

eval(print_standard_redirect('redirect_deletethrea d'));

just above this

($hook=vBulletinHook::fetch_hook('threadmanage_del etethread'))? eval ($hook) : false;

redlabour 06-08-2006 03:56 PM

Will it work in the Future with vBulletin 3.6 ?

Alan @ CIT 06-08-2006 03:59 PM

Redlabour: See above, I'll be testing it tonight when I install 3.6 :)

Stinger2: I'm not sure what changes your refering to. This hack has never required the changes you mentioned :)

Thanks,
Alan.

Hi Stinger,

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what the cause is off-hand. If you ask in the other hack thread, I'm sure the author will be able to help you though.

Thanks,
Alan.

stinger2 06-08-2006 06:28 PM

thanks alan....i did ask the other author first... i hope he would answer quick..

edit
erik kindly gave me 2 queries that fixed the problem

now i installed yours alan

Alan @ CIT 06-08-2006 07:34 PM

Is this mod compatible with vBulletin 3.6 Beta 1?

Unfortunately, due to a bug in vBulletin 3.6 Beta 1 which prevents mods using their own phrasegroups, this mod will NOT work with vBulletin 3.6 Beta 1.

This mod will be updated when vBulletin 3.6 Beta 2 is released :)

Thanks,
Alan.

redlabour 06-09-2006 09:24 AM

I have a small Problem. Two of my Users tells me today that they get a "Deleted" PM but the Threads are only "moved" from one Forum into another one.

Anyone has the same ?

Alan @ CIT 06-09-2006 10:08 AM

Redlabour: Does this happen to you if you move one of your own threads? If so, then it's likely a problem with the phrases - check to make sure that the move phrase doesn't have "delete" text in it.

If the phrases are fine, then I suspect the users may be mistaken, or mixing up their PMs as it would happen for everyone on your forum rather than just a few users.

Let me know how you get on :)

Thanks,
Alan.

redlabour 06-10-2006 11:08 AM

The Phrases are fine - but i get the same Problem sometimes. Hmmm....

dookie 06-11-2006 04:31 AM

Love this hack, thank you! :)

Boofo 06-11-2006 04:34 AM

Any word on the version that won't send PMs to you if you are the person who started the thread?

Alan @ CIT 06-11-2006 10:09 AM

The next version of the hack will be released shortly after vBulletin v3.6 Beta 2 is released. :)

Thanks,
Alan.

Sir_Yaro 06-11-2006 12:51 PM

Hi.
When I move thread from one forum to another on redirection screen ("The thread has been successfully moved / copied. You will now be returned to the thread.") php code appears above this window:

Quote:

>input->clean($items_a, TYPE_ARRAY_STR); return true; } /** * Returns the parsed phrase text * * @return char */ function get_phrasetext_parsed() { return $this->vbulletin->input->clean($this->phrasetext_parsed, TYPE_STR); } } ?>
It looks like this "bug" doesn't do anything wrong but it's still must be removed. I'm afraid that is some typo somewhere or sth. I found it in class_autopm_parser.php

Could you tell me to fix that bug ?

Alan @ CIT 06-11-2006 12:55 PM

I've never seen this before, and am unable to reproduce it here. I can't see how it could happen if I'm honest, but I would take a guess that it's a problem with your webserver.

What webserver (Apache, IIS, etc) and version are you running? Also, what version of PHP are you running?

Also, if you could take a screenshot when it happens or set me up an account on your forum so I can see it in action it would help a lot.

Thanks,
Alan.

Sir_Yaro 06-11-2006 02:31 PM

information about server I've sent via PM

But will it work on 3.5.4. still as that is where a lot of use will be until it goes at least RC 3 or better, maybe even gold.

Alan @ CIT 06-11-2006 02:36 PM

Boofo: Yes, it will still work on vB 3.5.x

Sir_Yaro: Do you use any accelarators on your server? Zend, eAccelarator, etc?

Thanks,
Alan.

Sir_Yaro 06-11-2006 02:54 PM

i'm not shure, server isn't mine. but in this link with server information you can find zend logo. so I suppose i do....

I'm very happy to hear this, since I was having the same problems as others, when I yesterday attempted a fresh install of the hack on my vB 3.6b1 test board. Namely:

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.0 Beta 1:

Invalid SQL:

                                        INSERT IGNORE INTO phrasetype
                                                (fieldname, title, editrows, product)
                                        VALUES
                                                (,
                                                'autopm_title',
                                                'Moderation Auto-PM - Message Subjects',
                                                3,
                                                'cit_mod_autopm');

MySQL Error  : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '
                                                'autopm_title',
                                                'Moderation Auto-PM - Message Subjects',
                                                3,
        ' at line 4
Error Number : 1064

I look forward to the new release of the hack. It's one of the more useful I employ on my system.
