Is there a way to store multiple cars?

Nology 03-16-2006 03:56 PM

The link only works when I'm in the forums and not on my main vbadvanced page. How can I fix this?

Just wondering if you have actually talked to noppid about this, because he has a similar hack out now that he is selling. Not sure if he'll give you permission to include his upgrades.

I hope he does though, the later version of vBGarage was much cooler.

Either way, thanks for your work to bring this out!

ACP ->Languages & Phrases-> Phrase Manager -> "Search in Phrases" for "vbgarage". edit the translation to Garage.

Also, when a user uploads a picture, where does the picture upload to? i hope it isn't stored in my database..or is that possible? i'm a bit of a noob.

search in phrases for "You are allowed a preset number of images" you can edit it there to say whatever you want.

i asked the question about where the pics go and i was told they are uploaded to the database

Deska 03-16-2006 09:22 PM

I hope in next release, all user uploads will go to filesystem, not database :)
Any chance to do it Trigunflame ?

Derekclarke 03-17-2006 08:46 AM

I apreciate this is not your code, but you have modified it.

I have a Feature Request.

Can this be Permission based, so we can only allow certain user groups to use the feature, or certain groups to view but not post etc.

Thanks
Derek

You have settings in the configuration panel for a reason, use it ;)

Once I integrate it with the vb3 4.0 version by noppid it will among other things.

The original code by magnus which was modified by noppid and release later on vborg as 4.0.0 code is still under magnuses original GNU license.

I dont care what noppid has done with other stuff, im still going to merge it with this.

I'm having an issue with the latest uploads pictures not showing up.

this started after a super moderator uploaded his pictures (which will not display), and immediate the latest uploads was blank

I think he uploaded 6 pictures, so the problem may be more with how it handles super moderators than with the latest uploads block

NathanLedet 03-17-2006 06:11 PM

I've found 2 bugs, one which has already been discussed.

1, when you go to delete a user from the garage, it takes you to a "page cannot be found" page, but still deletes the user.

2, you must click on "remember me", or it will log you out when you click on "garage"

Anyone else experiance this?

Ok, I wasn't sure if you had to get permission from noppid or not, I'm new to the way all of this stuff works.

I'm very thankful that you have taken the time to port this over to 3.5.x, and I'll wait patiently for you to finish upgrading this as well.

Trigunflame 03-19-2006 08:00 PM

Yes, has taken a while.. I think i will have the first version of the new codebase later today.

Which will be the first port of the 4.0.0 by noppid.

Justed installed vbgarage and having a bit of issues. When I upload images this is fine but when I try and delete then images I get a page cant be displayed? If I try and Edit all the filled in fields a blank, is this normal for the fields to be blank ir should thay have the existing data in them. Also what is up with the blank page on the Delete.

One more question how can I increase the side of the data fields for example Year: instead of 4 characters I want to increase it because I have changed the Year name to something else in the language area?

Correction.. .I am able to click Delete and it still goes to a page cant be found but when I go back to my vbgarage profile the images are gone which I expect.

Is there a way to only delete the images and not the entire vbgarage infor???

Trigunflame 03-21-2006 07:56 PM

There are lots of bugs in Vbgarage itself; a lot of these will be fixed after I upload the port of version 4.0.0.0

Ive already completed the port locally, however lots of bugs need to be stamped out before I even think of uploading it to vborg.

That was already covered if you read through this thread. You can just edit the text to state how many uploads you can have.

Have you made any database Backup's?

it looks like you have deleted more than you should have.

A backup will restore it.

bada_bing 03-31-2006 11:52 PM

Any idea when version 4 will be released.. I would like to suggest that there are options in admincp to change the field names so that this hack can be usded for multi use for example I dont have a car site but would like to use this on my aquirium site so that members can upload a description and pictures of there fish tank..

Thank You
