I presently use Powweb... When you hear the name Powweb, run as far and as fast as you can toward an erupting volcano, because it will be much less painful than your experience at Powweb.

I've been with them for a few years (my own fault), and yes, there have been months where I haven't noticed a glitch and was very happy, but when they go down, they go down. This means that your 24/7 online tech support can't be used because you can't access even the powweb.com website. Not only that, but when they perform their upgrades at Noon time (Imaging that... Upgrades at prime time!?!?!?!?), they never send out emails letting you know that there might be a chance portions of your service may be affected. TERRIBLE!!!! My site doesn't generate money and is more of a social joint for fly fishermen, but they do have tons of sites that rely on a service that is going to generate money for them. They cannot do this when Powweb is down. Ok, I think you get the picture now...

Now, since you've mentioned Ontimehosting.com... I'm actually building a site their right now. I've been extremely happy with the service, and it's a super fast host. I would recommend anyone giving these guys a shot. When my contract with Powweb is over in May, I'll be moving two other sites over to Ontime hosting.

I swear, the best host you will ever find anywhere is www.novahosting.com ..

Their prices are a tad higher but I swear they have the best service level anywhere and they back up everything..... servers are very fast too....

I had one of their techs stay up all night one time and help me restore my database when I messed something up...

Great company and I have not had a single minute of downtime in months.....

i'm using www.highwirepcs.com unlimited plan. people have been bashing the host on vb.com when i posted it up for a review but i've been with them for just under a month (new site) and they are just wonderful. they are EXTREMELY cheap and very fast too. they are getting a semi-dedicated server so i'm looking forever to more great things from them.

as for the technical support. their support is done by email, support forum, msn messenging, and telephone. we've submitted some support emails to them and within 5 mins we got a reply. we also called them at 10pm (EST), left a message and within 15 mins, a live person called us back. so there is no doubt in my mind that their support isnt amazing.

I'm hosted at http://www.asmallorange.com, and if asmallorange ever fails, I'm headed over to Zachery! (geekydesigns)

They have never let me down and the support is fantastic.

I'm currently with DreamHost.com - I got a years hosting and a domain registration for $7.77 last December. I figured the hosting would suck but it's actually been very reliable - I will most likely stick after this plan is up (Though I want to upgrade to a higher plan so I can host more than 3 domains.)
