More evil than the number of times Bush has said "evil." Nothing on a web page should need clicking to reveal the requested information.

Still, it looks horrible. 100% with Chen on this one.

It is completely awfull, I hate it. I often get asked to code on some forum created by people that have NO license and those people ALWAYS have that damn mod dropdown installed. I HATE THAT DAMN THING!

EVIIIIIIIIIIIL

Wow bumping of an old thread there ;)

Why in general do people hate it so much? I mean on a mac with their graphical dropdowns and scrollbars i bet it looks horrible but on IE it looks fine. Can i see a screenie of a mod dropdown on a mac :)?

Because:
1. You have to click to display the information
2. Traditionally the dropdowns in pages are only used for redirections
3. 99% of the time, people who use the mod dropdown don't even have mods in all forums

1/ And your saying that with two links on your site which pop up information on the forumbits ;)
2/ Tradition - if we all lived by tradition we'd be brushing our teeth using urine and living in animal skins lol ! :)
3/ And this is a problem because?

I love the mod drop down on my site. I've got too many moderators and the formating looks stupid without it.

Forum visitors don't care who the moderators are, if they want to know, they can click. Otherwise I don't think they'd want to see the moderator list.
