Instead of everyone askin if this work with so and so, why not try it. If you get error messages try to figure out where they are coming from and tweak it.
It's easier to do this than keep asking. Josh |
I tried it but the server is so slow, If someone let me use a server or a subdomain for a day I could get it going.!
|
lol, Why you or everyone ask would it work> That is a very different and hard question, You will never knwo if it work or not until you try it. Even someone got it work,,,,,, will it work in your server,,,,,,, so the answer is Try it :)
anyway Thanks. I can use this method to transfer and convert other portal to cms with VB Thanks.! |
Okay it works I tried it with 5.6 and 2.2.6!
|
will it works with postnuke ?
|
worked like a charm, took some tweaking if you have heavily modded php nuke, cuz now it points to the vbulletin db, its not hard at all to figure out.
i did this with phpnuke 5.2 and vbulletin 2.2.5, and then it still let me upgrade to 5.6, so all i can say is great hack. |
Does it convert all the current Nuke users into vb users? or vice versa?
|
copies current vbb users to nuke ones.
|
Does anyone have a script that retains my current users, but merges them both into the nuke and vb database?
I have a few thousand users in my nuke db and I don't want to loose them compared to my 200 something users registered in vb. I don't wnat to loose my vb users nor my nuke users. Suggestions anyone? |
I"m curious about people's issues with vbportals? I run it on my site and it runs beautifully.... I love having my news forum show up on my homepage and having the latest post show up on my homepage as quick links to them post. If someone can get Postnuke to do this, I MIGHT consider switching. It would be even better if it would work between two databases. Then I could run Post off of my other server and keep my forums on the server they are registered to....
Just by making one site's users automatically part of a certain user group, it would be easy to create forums only they can see... I'm rambling... Shutting up now LOL... Chip |
