What hosts do I recommend:
- URLJet
- Hostgator
- Bluehost

Where do you need to go and read up regarding hosts? Here and within this forum. <-- Grab a cup'o'joe (Coffee) and take the time to see what others think, once you see a host who has tons of good reviews jot down the name, now go to google and research the host a little more i.e. looking for tons of bad feedback etc, if not much exist then of course its the usual disgruntled customer(s) and is to be expected.. if a ton of negative feedback then steer clear of that host and select an alternative one.

Never heard about URLJet.

When I set up my forum in Sept '14, GoDaddy didn't have the necessary PHP requirements for VB5 (On the cheap subscriptions). They may have now, but that's why I went with Siteground instead of GoDaddy and am actually glad I did..

I use Siteground too. I've been very happy with them.

Why does your forum have like 1 million posts but only 1000 members? Do you prune your members?

We're a small group. I only delete users whose emails bounce back invalid and who have made zero posts.

Like many forums it was more active in years past but it remains busy enough. Most posts require registration to view.

Yep, it is good to remove old non posting members and to prune posts or keep most private.

Google is all about quality of content and not quantity.
