On your site when you log in to the forums and then try to change the forum display options I just get a database error, need to see this setting work right before trying it.

Is this still happening?

Hey guys,
Any idea why after installation and setup, the main forum page looks great as expected but there is no Create a Thread button, anywhere. Not even on the separate category pages. The moderator options is there but the Create Thread is not. Disabled all plugins/products to test for any conflict but found nothing. It simply wasn't showing the Create Thread.

The only way I found to add a thread is Forum Tools-> but that really isn't a great method and hard to explain to new visitors and even existing members :) Had to disable the plugin at this point given the fact it is enabled by default once installed.

Be interested to see if anybody knows why this is or how to fix it. Thanks!

Check your Default theme out, and see if it appears. Could be a custom theme issue

SpikeSaunders 07-23-2014 01:52 AM

I'll try that out. I thought this wasn't theme specific, originally anyhow.
Problem is gotta wait until nobody is around before doing the switch since by default, the new look is present which if those buttons are gone, sorta breaks function :)

I am having the same issue, on the default forum as well. There is an option to create a new thread under the Forum Tools drop down but I want a button that is "clearly" visible on every page.

SpikeSaunders 07-23-2014 10:43 AM

Yep still the same. No mods installed (well en-abled), no plugins outside the VB ones and even those have the blog and cms related disabled.

Not sure what's going on here but clearly if this is a 'sold' product as well, it must be working. Of course not going to buy it until shown it does, otherwise a waste, ya know...

I would also like to see a link/button to turn it on or off for the members, even if it takes them the user cp... I don't want to answer 500 questions on how to disable it.

Also, can category coloring be turn off so it's just a normal link?

Any idea what is causing it? For a quick fix? :)
Or has it not worked right for anybody up until now, at least the non-paid version?
