I'd much prefer pay an annual license fee (or better still, a one-off fee). We know a number of forums that need a decent classifieds offering and would be prepared to pay a decent amount (i.e. a lot more than the vB license itself) to get one that they can install and run - without the fee system.

Thanks for the feedback! We will keep this in mind for future options we offer. In the meantime, we had to start somewhere. I encourage you to get a marketplace id and security key from us and install it and try it out. Sellers do not have to use the included payment processing. They can indicate their preferred method of payment in the listing they create. PM me or email (chad@enthusify.com) if you want to try the demo site or want to trial it on your own site. You can install the plugin on your site and hide it from the public while you (or you and your moderators) try it out.

UPDATE: A bug prevented users of IE 8/9 from uploading photos to their listings. We fixed that bug. The fix automatically propagated to all installations of the plugin. No action is required if you have the plugin installed. Users of IE rejoice.

That is my hold up.

Explaining that to casual members who sell small items occasionally would be a stretch.

Have an option to pay an annual fee so you can raise the revenue you desire for script usage.

Then provide an option to not show the escrow pay element at all for buyer payment(s).

Allow us to use paypal only for the member to member payment process.

Would also be cool if we could charge a listing fee that a seller would pay at the time of listing their sales copy.

Thanks for the feedback. We have gotten these requests from other forum owners. These options are on our radar for sure. In the meantime... feel free to give the plugin a trial run. Please keep the ideas and suggestions coming.

Today: August 2, 2012, we released the latest version of the vBulletin classifieds plugin. This version, 1.4.0, includes a few performance enhancements. This version also addresses an issue for forums running on servers configured to block the allow_url_fopen php function.

I've been testing this for a bit and I think it does have some real possibilities if the product can be added to.

Here's a partial suggestions list from what I've seen so far.

-In the product options provide an input box to link to a review forum or article section. Another possibility for this would be to add a comments section where the links to the reviews could be inserted as well as a rating system for sellers

On the items for sale page the ratings of the seller of the item could be displayed similarly to the picture above. Either a pictorial star system or text based system could be used to rate the seller of the item.

On the actual Item page all of the information should be used so that the member can easily make a decision on purchasing similarly to the picture below.

-Control of classified setup and content is a must for this product. With the present setup of category creation/change and classifieds being done only via contact with Enthusify it will present an unacceptable bottleneck for most users and an ever increasing workload for your staff as well as an extra step and delay for the products users. This one is a make or break for the product. It can be handled a couple of ways either through an admin section on Emulsify or through a link through admin on the parent site. Security of both sites will need to be addressed on this.

-A multiple item or “store” type feature for those that sell multiple items would be a great benefit for many sites and sellers that want to sell multiple repeat items. This would also be of benefit to sites that have sponsors that could then sell their merchandise on the site.

Ability to add the stores as subcategories under a main 'Stores” category.
Link in individual categories to the store subcategory.
Ability in admin to waive payment percentages for site for sponsors.
Ability to link to tutorials and reviews on products.
Ability to add a store logo for sponsors.

This would be a very big plus for sites that have a specific “theme” that could be merchandise related. Not only could they use it to attract sponsors for their site, but they could then share traffic with their sponsors sites.

Just a few ideas that I think would benefit this product.

Comments and buyer/seller ratings are on our product roadmap. We anticipate their release within the next 3 months.

Bottom line: some significant enhancements to the plugin's category and attribute system are forthcoming.
Background: For those who haven't yet installed the Enthusify plugin, randy17875 is referring to the fact that Enthusify sets up the categories and attributes for your marketplace on your behalf. Once established, Enthusify must implement requested edits and additions. There is not a 'self service' dashboard for a forum owner to add, edit, and delete categories. Furthermore, Enthusify's current category hierarchy has a few limitations. Based on requests from the first few beta customers, it is clear that the current architecture does not support all the desired permutations of categories and attributes.

Cool. Added to the product roadmap. This idea wasn't already there as described.

From all of us at Enthusify - THANKS for taking the time to compose this feedback. It is all appreciated. It will help us make the product better for everyone.
