I know you are experienced vB user. But be honest! Such thing as karma hack needs one karma.php file ~10kb, one new table and few template adjustments. You really don't need an army of users to test this one.

Anybody interested PM me and I will send you specifications of this script- it will be working in 2.x (and after few changes in 1.1.x too). Its mechanism is based on description in discussions here.

Overgrow, many people are interested in this one-- why don't you release it? Its great but just little hack.

I would be interested in any one that has got this complete... just to give me some insite.. cause for some reason I just cannot get mine to work..

I might just have to start over... cause as me and Tora try to put one togethre it flops lol...

Mine has modifications to showthread and member for additional features. No, it is not a very complicated hack... as evident by the number of people who started writing it. It is a tough hack to do correctly, as evident by the number of people who have finished it and are running it (2).

I'm not downing what you're writing... just letting you know, if you just put some karmic power numbers in there and let it loose, hope it goes well, you will be in for a surprise. What I'm saying is that there were many many tweaks that went into the system only months after it had been online. Ask W.Luke if his Karma system worked out of the box.... I'm sure he'll agree.

I know.. and I've always released every feature we've written for vBulletin (Images, Spiderfriend, query caching, etc)... but this is one thing that we have over the competition. Also I can only imagine the request for support if I put a hack of this sort out... Also I don't make pretty install routines and nice table creators, which pisses people off. I'd rather sell to a few clients if they're interested and make a bit of cash.. this is what I do after all.

More power to you if yours works out as a public release.

True-- it has to be balanced. But more important than time spent with testing is size & traffic of the site. That needs to be really fine tuned.

I agree and don't plan to "release" it for public. Second reason as you already stated is that I want pure functional hack and don't plan to make real installation script.

And good luck to you with sales.
