I'm fixing to upgrade four systems to 7 and have used 7 (beta tested, then RC for a while) via VMWare on a Vista install for a few months. You can get it here for $50 each in a pack if you want to go that route.

Windows 7 is so far Microsoft's best product and I am already a proud owner :) Excellent for music production as it handles driver installations smoothly even for older versions.

Upgraded tonight. No problems of note so far :) I've got rid of this stupid taskbar and put quick launch back too.

I haven't checked but does the quick launch also have all the same Aero mouseover function? I just changed the icon size on my default Windows 7 taskbar to small. IMO the new task bar is by far the coolest new feature.

Yes it does.

I gave the new style taskbar a couple of days but didn't like it.
I've also enabled the quick launch. I find the quick launch easier to work with.

I read in an article that upgrade from WXP to W7 is possible but all the files will be lost. Has anyone tried it?
