Ok let's settle this once for all:

- I don't care if Obama is black [I'm super-minority ;) =handsome+muscular+smart+soon will be rich with my forum :D
- For all the newspapers in the world to stop saying: 'first president negro' he must embrace his roots and we all can forget about color...
- Yeah it's historic and I congratulate him, and I wish him the best as a human who accomplice his goals
- I wish he will be more realistic and a natural person and no just a 'sweet-talker'

'negro'?

I think they stopped using that word in the 50's...

pressurepros 01-19-2009 12:44 AM

Yeah he's off to a great start.. in the midst of the worst economy in modern times, he has a $150 million dollar inauguration ceremony. Bush spent 1/4 of that. Clinton even less. Not a great precedent if you ask me.

Ditto:) My first thoughts as well.

I'm sure I'll see parts of it, I wont necessarily be "watching" it though.

The American population want change thats why there is so many behind him. They live in hope that this man will save them and bring peace to the world.(Fairytale over - plz close book here and fall asleep :) )
Now the real truth is - he wont bring much that Bush never brought, simple because he is not a one man band.DO you honestly think Bush woke up one day and throught, thats it,im gonna attack Afghan and Iraq - NOPE - he has a machine working behind him 24 hrs a day, telling him what he should and not do.This same machine will also be directing Obama during his term of office. So you may see some changes but the majorty will be the same and when things look really bad they will just say `well we had to clean up bush`s mess`.
Do u also think that every person who worked Under Bush`s term will be gone,Im afraid not - same people will still be there working in background for Obama.
So as u see, change will not come - Remember all Politicians promise u what u want to get voted in but once they in,you get nothing - then how sad and lonely will u be when u think back on the times u waved the american flag in honour of Obama and wished him all the best.

You mean nothing to Obama and his family so best u remember that.Obama would not look down upon u if it was`nt for the fact that he needed u to get in office.

I'm just going to reply to this by saying your not a very good judge of character at all. You also, don't quite understand how the transition of Presidents work. The important administrative positions will almost be all new people, with the exception of one he's keeping on. Everyone else has nothing to do with policy making or decisions and have been working in the White House for most of their careers through several Presidents. That last statement you made us just the epitome of pessimism. You've looked at the values the Obama's exude, and just assumed it was the opposite for no reason at all.

Yeah, we don't use the word "negro" anymore in English. It's not an insult, per se, it's just antiquated and reminiscent of different era.

As far what you said about newspapers, the should absolutely not. Black people have been waiting for a time like this for hundreds of generations. To dismiss it as something just "really nice", is to dismiss the depth of it's significance. An entire race of people doesn't cry in one night because their candidate gets elected. They cry because their people have overcome a hurdle they never believed would be overcome.

See my other comment in the other thread. Obama's statements are the epitome of realism. He sugar coats nothing.

What are you two talking about? Only a fraction of Inaugurations are paid for by taxpayer money. Obama's transition team gets 8.5 million in taxpayers dollars, and the rest is all voluntary contributions. As of the 15th Obama had raised about 9.7 million dollars. George Bush raised 42 million for his swearing in. Obama is getting far less for his ceremony, partly because he's not accepting donations from political action committees or corporations. I know all this because he's made the Inauguration finances a matter of public record.

What an extremist Obamist you turn out to be...

I will happily slap you and Obama with a trout :D

YOU DON'T REALIZE that you are arguing with us, your friends, we may not be perfect, we may have a grudge, different points of views, and we may sound ignorant and sometimes intolerant... but we have been here with you :) [Obama no :p]

But is not up to Obama to solve the problems of the world, and is not up to you make us love so delusional guy

p.s. I got something on my health that even Obama with his super-powers can fix, so lets go back to reality :p

nexialys 01-19-2009 12:06 PM

ok, if Obama can help the world go better, i want a shuttle to the moon...

USA is still USA... they will always want to rule the world "their way"... like the UK try to rule the world their way, and France, and Germany, and Russia, blah blah blah... each grand country try to show up in the mist, they want to be the best to rule the world... that is pathetic, they can not even rule their own country...

i like the guy, i think he can do better than the last 5 presidents, even the last 43 presidents... but i do not think he is the god everybody think he can become...

iogames 01-19-2009 12:26 PM

no better than Washington, no better that Lincoln [when he wants to be his shadow and not King's] not even better that Roosvelt, that were humans tested by history... no matter what the color...
