Lets say that someone offered you a iMac that you could keep.

Would you accept it?

No. I wouldn't accept it.

i would exchange it with a PPC mini-mac... i already have some iMac at home, i need an old version of the mini-Mac to drive the old games i have for the kids...

because yeah, something horrible with a Mac is that if you have old OS-9 games, they do not run anymore on a Intel mac...

if i remember right, you can drive older games like Win98 on your Vista without a problem ?!

I was listening to a radio talk show host a while back explain why he preferred a Mac and it all boiled down to his power on button being located on his monitor for the computer so he didnt have to bend down and press it on the box and the fact he doesnt have to press three buttons together at times. It made me laugh at his reasoning but its all fair. I'm just thankful that we do have options and can choose which we like better.
Ive only bought one computer off the shelf and that was about 15 years ago. Since then I have built my own from parts I have purchased as upgrades over time. I actually prefer it that way. I can pick and choose what my needs are and they often change depending on where my latest interest takes me. Thats what I like about being a PC user. I call it freedom. Some would argue that I'm limiting myself to windows but the truth is my windows isnt set up like anyone elses is and I can change it tommorrow if I feel like it. I tend to take the bloat out and run my preferred apps instead of Microsofts. Some would say that is a hassle but I dont see it that way. I see it as fine tuning. When i get in my car after my wife drives it I move the seat, adjust the mirrors, and change the radio station. She doesnt touch my PC (thank god) so it is all me "an expression of myself". If I felt like I could achieve that better with a Mac I would own one. Nothing against those who do own them I just prefer to own a PC. If there were only two models of vehicles on the planet, a four door sedan and a pickup truck, I would own two pickups. Funny that whats in the driveway. Like my PC's I can can just do more with them. Not to say a Mac user cant but your probably doing different stuff.

Mac users CAN'T... that's one of the down on all Macs, besides the Mac Pro which is monstruously costly, you can not customize anything on a Mac... that's why i bought the Mac-mini (mini-mac for me) as it's only the computer box... i have my old monitor, my prefered keyboard and mouse, speakers etc... but i can't change a thing on that computer but the size of the HD or the RAM...

i prefer PC for the instance of customization... i may have a 500Gigs solid-state HD on my computer, i'd like to have two.. lol no place for it. i could do it with a Mac Pro, but the box is way bigger, and that's why i actually sold my older Mac Pro... too big, it was heating my entire living room just by being open.

what i like about Windows though is the way some functions are built: if you select to shutdown the computer, it is not asking you to approve the action, as on the Mac... the logic is solid... if you reach the shutdown option in the menu, it is because you really want to shutdown, no error.

Eh... Mac. I recognize that it doesn't get much 3rd party support, but that's honestly the only thing I don't like about it. So far it's been reliable and fast.

@Wayne Luke: Elitist jerk. :p

I have a MAC and 4 PCs in my house. The MAC is my personal computer. It owns any PC I have in the house.
