They should have left my account active and asked me for it, instead of just turning off my account and my website is down, they got their money so why no just ask for verification, to turn off the website without notification first is just bad manners and bad business practice...

I've been with Hostgator over a year now and have 2 sites hosted with them, one ecommerce and one forum and can't complain :)

No they are correct they had the money for the account but accounts that are suspected for fraud usually get chargebacks which would cost them money ... what is difficould about entering you "correct information" ?

What is difficult is the US server didn't recognise my UK postcode and flagged it as wrong...

well if you think it's hostgators fault (a bug in there anti fraud checks) then you should get in touch with them.Do not yell or be angry at them just explain you enterd the information correctly along with some info to proove that and they might give you a "gift" i'm not working for hostgator so can't say for sure...

I have had Hostgator hosting for over a year and the only reason i left them is i went dedicated they do offer dedicated plans to but they are a ThePlanet reseller when it comes to dedicated and i hate ThePlanet

i've always used siteground.com and it had been amazing for me.

Shinou 09-25-2007 05:25 PM

I've always used http://unified-hosting.com, I've never had any problems with them AT ALL. They've super fast and I've used all my sites and forums through them with no problems, they cheap and offer nice stuff!

mate, hostgator are great for small sites. You cannot run a successful forum with them, if u have more than 600 people online at once they shut you down so HG sucks for big forums

Mr. Mooney 09-25-2007 08:44 PM

I think if you have 600 people on at once you have a more than sucessful forum and need a dedicated server ( a big dedicated server).
