Woo-hoo! I seem to be in stunned mode this afternoon but I just tried this out with my weekly newsletter.
Works perfectly! :D |
How about a Forum having 2000+ Users, the Admin cant click on all these email Headers.
If this just sets the "Receive Email from Admin" Option, it doesnt seems to be very usefully for the Meaning of "EZ Bounced Email Management for Admins". Management should also include changing Usergroups. regards |
I don't think you understand... You only have to click on the link in the email header of those emails which bounce back. Which therefore helps you to avoid sending these bouncing members emails until they update their password.
Previous to this version, you had to do the following steps to manage bouncing emails: 1) open the bounced email 2) type the email address or username of the bouncing member into the AdminCP>Search for Members page 3) scroll through the list of returned results and open the bouncing member's "edit user" page 4) scroll through the edit member page and either change their usergroup, receive admin emails setting or whatever other method you used to deal with bounces 5) click submit to deal with the member Now with this, you just click the link in the email header and you're done. One step as opposed to five certainly sounds easier to me, but i could be wrong... :) The next version (which will be released this week) will give you the option in your settings to change either usergroup or receive admin emails (or both) if you choose. |
I have a question ...
forgive my stoopidness lol , what email does a bounced email go to ? is it the webmasters contact in your admin cp ? I just set up a test account with an email addy that does not exsist. well i do not think spammy@tuu.org does:D now i just sent an email just to that user and goto check to see if its bounced in my email and nothing is there IS my mail set up wrong or am i missing something ? |

This will also bounce if you send the email from "send email to user" feature when viewing users profile out of the forums as well. i.e. you don't just have to send an email from within the admincp. All outgoing email sent from the AdminCP (or the forums) will have this in the header if it bounces. :) |

thanks, have changed email and resent a test email via admin cp email users just to that test account with the dodgy email lol,i'll check mail client it morning (outlook) , i thought i had it set up correctly as out of office mails come back to me but hardly ever,if at all get any bounced ones back.. althou i have verify email address on at registration I can't see 8000+ users having a valid email addy.. althou happy days if they all do lol :) many thanks av  |
you're welcome! - i hope to have the update done by end of this week. The update will add the ability to change the bouncing members usergroup when link in header is clicked, so for instance, you create a bouncing usergroup and after you process all bounces, you can prune all members in this group, etc...
