It should be available in all versions of vBSEO including the previous ones and somehow, I think you have missed it so here's how to find it:

Go to vBSEO CP > SEO Functions > Direct Links > Replace 'Previous/Next Thread' redirect links and finally switch that option to "Yes". :)

however I would point one thing here:

there is no use of adding /showthread.php?t=5464&goto=nextnewest and /showthread.php?t=3424&goto=nextoldest to this URLs, consider removing them.

This behavior is default in vBulletin. See for yourself, hover over "Previous Thread" here on vBulletin.org.
