I don't turn my down unless I pull in some ones drive way or it's after 10pm. Mine is not that loud, and my car is sealed up real good. Even wide open you can't hear it outside of the car unless you are standing right next to it unless a door or window is open. I know the type you speak of though, and agree on all points. My buddy has a stereo that sounds like crap but it's loud, he has been known to pull in to parking lots with it wide open and leave it on while he's in the store. I don't see the point in this, imho the less people that know about it, the less people out there looking to steal it. People like this give people like me a bad name, there are plenty of guys out there will loud systems and you'll never know about them. The reason is they only turn it up at comp and in areas where it won't bother anyone. My buddy is like this, and he's always needing to test something new. He lives with 7 houses right next door so I let him come up here to the farm and test in the middle of one of our fields. :) |
@ Freesteyelz -You are so misguided, my friend. ;)

OI... I'm a rock music fan - love all those ones you've listed (except Prince - not my cup of tea at all lol) but I also listen to other things. While rock music is my music of choice, I've been known to play all sorts of other things - including the odd bit of rap which, although not a favourite of mine I do find some of the lyrics clever and one of the boys listens to it a lot.
Personally even though there are some genres of music which I really dislike and personally think is "crap" or whatever, I also believe that we need all these different genres just to keep music moving forward and without all the various types of artists - be they sex gods like Aerosmith and the Chillis - or gangsta rappers (none of whom I can name LOL - in fact the only rap artist that I can currently think of is Eminem - whose lyrics crack me up at times) we would be in a dire place indeed where music is concerned. (the only people that should be shot are the manufactured pop bands :p ) |

You said:- "would you consider any music/artist/bands from the last 25 years to have had or may have the same lasting influence on society and new artists as the rock legends from the 60's". " :p |
I'll take this one, smacklan. ;)
I think he is referring to throughout the thread. And if you are listening to the cRAP, then you and I need to talk. ;) |

@Boofo - a quote from our generation..."what a drag it is getting old" lol ;) @Brad - I appreciate your remarks and I know there are many like you. I was the same way when I was younger and listened to my music loud in my car, although stereo's weren't quite as powerful back then as they are now. I just wish that more showed the same level as respect to others as you. |
RAP Music ?
Best laugh today - Rap is talking, not music. Rappers - I'd be happy if they all shot each other (which apparently, is not far from reality ....). |
I'm starting to like you better and better all the time. ;)

2. If hip-hop is a culture, then live with it and don't try to pass it as music. 3. I was referring to classic rock, not today's rock. |
