nope heres whats should have been done...

NOTHING!

You shouldn't have done a damm thing. NO ONE has broken ANY rules since that poll was created and even before that poll was created.

As I said, this HOTM may be restored with the runners-up - It is not gone, simply removed from the public eye for the time being...

Chris

i'm saying if you make a rule after the poll has been posted it shouldn't affect the poll, however if it MUST then it must. however to penalise those users and the (month) following users is wrong.

the solution shouldn't effect two month worth of users.

Chris M 05-15-2006 05:07 PM

If you read what I had said, it shouldn't and may not still - I am hoping we can have it restored with the runners up and have the HOTM continue somewhat as normal...

Okay Hambil makes a good point... Heres the solution... take the hacks out of the running, or PM the user about the new rule and ask them to remove the code or there hack will be removed from the poll and the forums. If that was the case, then I guess the mods would have alittle bit of work to do to keep the polls fair.

No one is being penialized, except for the hacks in question. The poll has been removed temporarily, so the Staff can discuss what to do with the poll. LiveWire, you will be compensated for what is happening. We understand that you are innocent here, and your hack will not be forgotten as we decide what to do with the poll.

I'm sure I can count on the staff to do the right thing.

Want me to fix your dodgy eyes? :p

I'm sure they can be fixed with a bit of araldite :D

I'm sorry but I don't find much humor in this anymore.

The facts are this:
  • A new rule was created because of Paul and a few others
  • You talked about this in your private forums. (probably more like bashed on these users)
  • No one was ever contacted about this new up coming rule, at least take a moment to inform the users about the new rule that were currenly breaking the new rule and give them the chance to remove the code.
  • These hacks were created before this rule went into effect
  • 2 months ago you removed a hack from the poll, not the whole poll. You guys had to clean up a little mess, but thats what mods do. Cry me a river.
  • You remove the poll with out informing any of the users on here.

You always stress to us to contact you in a pm, blah blah blah, if you have an issue, send a pm.. blah blah blah.. Yet you fail to use it yourselfs. I don't get that.

Chris M 05-15-2006 05:26 PM

Considering the time between the removal of the thread and the time when this post was created was less than 5 minutes, composing a PM to the members involved is not as simply done as a click of the fingers ;)

This doesn't rule out that the fact that you never PMed the offending users. Why can't you guess just freaking admit when you do things sloppy. (this isn't towards you peronally Chris, but the staff as a whole)
