Tigga, I need your help bad. I recently upgraded my forums to 2.3.0 and upgraded myvbindex to 3.2.2 and I got sooooo many bugs with all the old hacks i used to have. Basically I will list the problems which most are happening with myvbindex. As you know I have that include file we made a while back. Well as you can see by going to www.ar-racing.com
my polls doesnt work. (It supposed to take a random poll from the poll forum) Also I am having way way too many queries on myvbindex and forums now. My online buddies thing doesnt work. Basically if you have no buddies it works fine but if you have a buddy that is online it doenst show anytihng. Also for some reason my phpadsnew header is not working but my footer is on my forums at www.ar-racing.com/forums
I tried making new invocation code but still nothing. I have no clue why.

Oh back to myvbindex, the new index file right now only require's global. When I try to make it require include and of course the include file requires the global. Then when i try to bring up the page nothing happens. Totally white blank page.

A. Upgrading to a new version of vBulletin will remove any templates that were created for mYvBindex with the exception of any that you have customized. To re-install the templates, upload the myvb_install.php file to your forums/admin folder and go to it in your browser. Then select the option to install just the templates.

Then chose the option in the install file to install only the templates and it should fix the problem.

ok cool, I think I can figure out the rest from here. But I still dont understand why I am getting the high query count? Is this normal, 26 for myvbindex and 23 for my forums? With my old setup I know I was somewhere near 10 I thought.

arracing - The query count does sound high since you don't have some of the more intensive options turned on. Once you have the templates re-installed though it should fix that.
Right now I'm working full time for a web design company, plus I also run a club/rave promotion company. I haven't had that much time to take on extra projects lately, but if you'd like to email me with some more details about the site, what you'd like done, and a timeframe of when/how fast the work needs to be done, then I can let you know if it's something I would be able to do and give you an estimate if so. :)

where is that white background coming from that is behind the main logo at the top left. I want it to be that baby blue color. I cannot find which template is calling that white background. Do u know?

Also I re-installed the templates but the query count still remained high.

two ways to fix this, go to your templates find header. open it and copy it, then go to myvbindex > index_header i think and open that, and paste it in there, that should work

i belive the other is to change the gettemplate function at the top, instead of index_header, change it to header

try the top one first however

Arracing - You should modify your index_header template as Faranth suggested, but if you copy your normal header be sure to add $bburl in front of each of the links, otherwise they'll be broken. ;)
As far as the queries, if you'd like to put your server in debug mode (Add $debug=1; somewhere in your admin/config.php file), then go to the url http://yoursite.com/index.php?explain=1
If you'll do that and post the results here I'll see what is causing the extra queries.

white stripe is still their. If I remove the logo the stripe goes away. But once a logo is inserted, it creates that table with the white background it.

I tried what you guys said but nothing has helped yet. I put the code back to the way it was so that is what you are seeing now.

If you'll add 'index_rotm' and 'index_buddy_none' to the templatesused section at the top of the file, that will remove 2 of the queries. Apparently 4 others are coming from your vBstats hack in your global.php file...

As for the polls, make sure that you have the poll templates and that you have "RAND" entered for the polls forum id.
The threads from you private forums will only be visible to those who have permission to view them, assuming you have your forum permissions set correctly. ;)

this should get rid of your white line problem. altho if you like it on your forums it will cause a problem

if you red the install it would tell you what options add querrys. and unless your server is under super high load, i wouldnt worry so much about your querie count

well, the thing is its not about added options. I think something is wrong cause the query counts seems to be significantly higher then before my upgrade. I had alot of hacks so I am unsure what is interfering with what. Just trying to clean up the mess a little.

Is it possible to get the "News" or the "Latest Threads" to display results from an entire Category, instead of only one forum (news), or all forums (latest threads)?

well doing the entire forum, every time a new topic was posted it would display on the front page, i think this might add alot of queries but im not sure

I might not have been clear on exactly what I meant. Instead of pulling "Latest Threads" from every forum on a vb, I was wondering if I could pull the "Latest Threads' from only one Category of a vb.

I have three main categories, each with sub categories, and postable forums under the sub categories. I would like to pull the Latest Threads from the postable forums located under one Category only, not the whole board.
