i edited the gb_header and changed the paths to numerous things and nothing worked (the path was set at goldbrick/styles/swfobjects.js). i tried http://www.cirlcex-gaming.com/forums/goldbrick/styles/swfobjects.js,

I tried the same for highslide.js.
I checked the header template and there was nothing listed for swfobjects or highslide.js

i checked the server and the files were in the proper spots also.

ok well then i will uninstall then until later

Do you have another highslide mod? Looks like your loading 3 different versions on vbadvanced.

I had photopost, i removed that and another old mod with highslide last night. I completely uninstalled glodbrick and reinstalled it. you can click on the thumbnails now, but they open up full screen in a window without highslide. ( i turned post cache temporarily off until this gets fixed).

Hi Nix, I am new to VB and I am trying to install VB AnyMedia Player / Media Sites 1.5 on VB 3.6.

I am trying to follow the instructions to upload the content of the upload folders but according to the instructions: . "Upload the contents of the "upload" does not provide any break down of which content need to be uploaded in which folder or directory so I am not sure in which folder I should upload the contents of i.e "includes, plugin, style and the contents of Media player"

There is no file path to follow in the instructions for all the files or directions, can some one help me in finding the path for uploading the file via ftp for each folder content on the server.

I am new to VB and need some help please:) Any one can help please:)

goldbrick folder - forum root (you upload the entire glodbrick folder)

you then find your includes, xml folder and upload bitfield_goldbrick.xml there.

players folder - you upload the entire folder to your forum root.

I've confirmed what's happening (but not why).

If I used vBadvanced modules to show entire posts, it screws up those posts in the actual forums and on the vBadvanced page, until the post is edited. But it reverts to being screwed up the next time the home page is visited on the computer.

I have removed the module that shows posts with goldbrick tags from my homepage, and now I haven't seen any issues when people change styles at all.

Thank you bostton1 for helping me out, I followed your instructions and uploaded the goldbrick and players to root and xml file bitfield_goldbrick.xml upload in xml folder but I am getting error while posting the thread, when I try to post the new thread the page goes blank.

I can see all the option working fine seems like it when I open VB Options and can view Goldbrick Media Options but when it comes to posting thread plain white error page dsiplays only.

have you went to "forum permissions" and enabled goldbrick there? and have you set your goldbrick settings in the "vbulletin options" ?

to clarify, you now have an actual "goldbrick" and "players" folder in your forum root?

Thank you bostton1 for your quick response, I actually set the goldbrick settings in VB options but I am not familiar with "forum permissions" how to enable "forum permissions" and from where??

i actually meant "forum manager" its located under the "forums and moderators" tab. once there hit the edit button next to the correspending forum. at the very bottom of all the settings will be "Enable Goldbrick in this forum".

Ok Let me check, it is already enabled in all the forums by default but still the same issue do I need to chmod the folder in FTP for permission??

Right now in my ftp folder the chmod is set to 755, do I need to enhance that or else??

weird thing for me is that everyone else can see the video, but not me. My FF played the video, but not my IE. I did upgrade my IE browser but not worked. any thought?

Ok...so like a few others I installed the product and am getting the, "You need to upgrade your flash player" message with individual videos (YouTube, Google, Etc).

The hacks works perfect with Stage6 vids but gives me the error with anything else. I have disabled all other hacks I have installed, tried it on my random different vids and sites, read through 75 pages on this thread and I still am at a loss.

I have configured the permissions and the forums as well as the vb options...no go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure, I don't use vbadvacned. I should just write a CMS to go with goldbrick...hmmm....
Do you have PHP 5? If you're getting a blank screen, check to see if your server has error reporting displayed.
Show me a link and I'll look real quick. Hard to say without seeing it.

All the "you need to upgrade your flash player" error mean is that 99% of the time the paths to your .js files are incorrect. I should change that message.

I played around with different paths to the .js files last night and this morning and am still having probs...

If I set them too...
"http://mydomain.com/public_html/goldbrick/style/highslide.js" then YouTube, Veoh, Etc. will play (although defaults to full screen?) but Stage6 will not. If you click the link nothing happens.

If I set them too...
"goldbrick/style/highslide.js" then Stage6 plays perfect but Youtube, Veoh, Etc give the flash error.

Not sure where to go from here. I can PM you login details if you think it would help.

Again, however, others are able to play the video, even on FF. But only on MY IE browser is not working. Are you sure because of its path?

probably not then. Did you try firefox? Sounds like IE is blocking Javascript for you.

FF is working fine. IE was working fine at first. Then, after I upgraded to vb 3.7 b4, I got the error since then. Even now, I reinstalled 3.6.8, I still got that error. I did even try to upgrade my IE but nothing could be fixed.... this made me so mad... any hints?

Just looked at your site. You don't have any of the required js files included in your page.

Because I disabled the addon while I was trying other ones to see if they would work. I will just have to fool with yours a little later when I have time.

I think someone already asked this before but there are more than 100 pages in this thread now. Can someone give me a hint on how I upgrade my Any Media Player 3.0.6 to the new Goldbrick Version 1.5. Do I have to uninstall the Any Media Player first or I just overlay all the Medi Player Files. Please give me some hints.

I checked with my hosting company, they told me to add PHP5 to my .htaccess.
Did that.
Im using 3.6.8, Firefox, and have disabled AME. (thinking it may have issues with your extension)
Disabling it didnt work, so i uninstalled it via Managed Products.
Still didnt work.


Im kind of confused on what to do next.

ok the only file that will play on my test post is the flv files all others extension will not play at all.

mp3 play good in Firefox browser but in IE it won't play it ask to download.

the divx also will not open is shows the missing image tag and when i right click to properties it only show the url but not the file name.

I love this mod and need it to work hope this can help you :erm:to help me with my issues.
