It would be great to know that SQL Error, otherwise I'm not able to fix it. Can someone please post it here?

Hello Phalynx,
i have same problem with SQL errors, its disabled now and all the errors gone, errors like:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT
COUNT(*) AS count_posts
FROM post AS p
INNER JOIN thread as t ON p.threadid=t.threadid
WHERE p.visible=1
AND p.userid=538;

Invalid SQL:
SELECT
P.userid, COUNT(userid) AS times
FROM thread AS T
INNER JOIN post AS P ON T.lastpostid=P.postid
WHERE P.userid=4
GROUP BY P.userid
ORDER BY P.dateline DESC, P.userid;

Please click "Mark as Installed" to get further support.
You can set the points that are given out for a post in AdminCP, Settings, Experience: Points

Phalynx 11-11-2010 06:33 PM

This didn't answered my question if you choose the right location for the achievements.

Great Mod,

1 of my clients was complaining that level 100 was a bit too easy to reach so I imported the product that has a level 200.. This was included in the zip file..

I then went into the options and changed the setting to 200 for levels. Is there anything else I have to do now?? I am a bit confused as to how the levels are set up and the read me did not really explain.

Any help would be great..

Thanks,
Rich

Phalynx 11-14-2010 08:20 PM

You should remember to recount.

x626xblack 11-15-2010 05:02 PM

I upgraded to vB4.0.8 today and this kills the Profile Customization. Does the latest version fix this.

When I click the Profile Customization button it opens but is blank.

FYI I am lazy and still running vBE 4.0.0..
Think that could be the culprit?

Phalynx 11-15-2010 06:04 PM

vBExperience 4.0.4 fixed that.

yahooooh 11-15-2010 08:10 PM

still wait the gold of 404
could ypu give me time when the gold will be released

thank you for your wonderful work and your great product

bposner 11-15-2010 09:07 PM

First of all great product. A bit overwhelming, but very nice work.
I am somewhat new to adding a plugin to a 3rd party product, and when adding it, it wants the hook location and I'm not sure which one(s) to select for the Helpful Answers mod as there a few in the drop-down box.
Thank you for a great mod

bposner 11-16-2010 12:21 AM

Seems many are you are already familiar with this mod from earlier versions, so maybe the community can help me understand a bit.
I'm unsure how "activity" percentage is calculated and why one would have 100% activity, what does that mean?
I can't seem to find out where awards are calculated, so if there is an award given, where is the are the determines how this level was achieved. Don't get me wrong, this is a great piece of work, I'm just having a hard time understanding what I'm looking at :)

Hello I use your great mod for long time. I have 100levels and 10 group for promotions. It was much more comfortable for me when promotions were written in txt.
Now I've got some reputation problems and for a while a lot of users gain a lot of experience points so they were promoted to higher groups. Finally I have my user levels realistic and now I found that they're not demoted to the group they have to be :/
I create new promotions in backwards way, but... it don't work as I want to or some of them don't work at all. I was thinking it will work if I make it like this:

EDIT: I found something I have to set "demote promoting" for usergroup display number LOWER than "promote one". Now it works but as you can see it will always work in one direction depending on display number :/ Please take a look at attached screenshot. I am so confused :/

points > X-1 - move from group 10 to 9
points > X-1 - move from group 9 to 8
points > X-1 - move from group 8 to 7
*Where X was points needed to move to higher group

It moved all users from 10 to 9, but for other it didn't work. I found that if I have to lower member from 10th group to 6th this is a problem.

Please explain me how to simulate demote? I want all users of level X to Y to become part of group Z (like it was before).

Best!

perfectweddings 11-16-2010 12:29 PM

Hi Bposner, for awards go to your admin panel sidebar ->Experience -> Manage Awards where you can edit the award you want. Then you should be able to "Fields
Select the fields you want to sum together" I am guessing how it works is the total amount of points collected by the top user will receive that award. I am still pretty new to it but I think thats how it works.

I have a question as well Phalynx, is there any way to give extra points if a certain number of words or characters is being reached per post? Thanks!

Thanks I kinda knew some of this. This software is like going from a Truck to a Luxury car.. lot's of stuff going on and have a hard time trying to figure out what's going on, and still keep my eye on the road lol
Thanks! More explanation from anyone is greatly appreciated!!!

MyCTaK 11-16-2010 02:17 PM

Hello bposner, what version ot vBExperience you've installed? I see that you have deleted your last post but I will answer it anyway.

This screen appear at left side of admicp Experience -> Manage Promotions.

If you want to add points for using helpful answers just go to Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> [Add/Import Product] -> browse and choose Helpful_Answers.xml from vBEperience Plugins folder.
Then you'll have it visible in Options -> Experience: Points. And you can say how many points should be given for "posts that are marked as "Helpful Answer"

Quote:

Activity has been extended to count also activities for 7 and 30 days, additionally to the default 60 days (configurable). Activitiy is now based not only on postings/messages, all actions that are calculated by vBExperience are taken into account.
The person who have most is 100% . The others are compared to his result and their result is calculated in %. Example: John have 5000 points for last 60 days and he has the most in your forum. If Peter has 1000 points he will have 20% activity.

As perfectweddings told you go to Manage Awards and edit/create new award and check what option it has. Don't forget to make Display Order higher than 1 if you want it to be visible! You seem to understand English so please read.

perfectweddings, i am sure there is no such an option and only Phalynx can tell you if it can be done :)

Best!

bposner 11-16-2010 02:22 PM

Excellent!
using 404 I see so the leader sets the bar (100%) and everyone else is a percentage of the leader? Correct? Nice.
Thanks on the HA solution, I was in the wrong place.
I have one concern, the little points icon (the balls) show up when someone hasn't yet reached 100 points. I may have something screwed up, but it's a learning process, like anything else. Every bit of information is very much appreciated!

RollaJedi 11-16-2010 03:04 PM

what and how does the 'easy forms' addon look for to give a person an achievement, phalynx?

could you kinda explain that addon please? thanks

RollaJedi 11-16-2010 03:06 PM

has anyone on here figured out the custom data provider thing so you can make up your own achievements? someone really needs to maybe create a 'custom data provider' for dummies guide to this thing. make it lots more user friendly for us folks that dont know how to make all this coding stuff.

RollaJedi 11-16-2010 07:09 PM

actually, nevermind on the 'easy form' thing. i installed the mod and decided i didnt want/need it.

bposner 11-17-2010 01:01 AM

SOLVED
Cleared all Achievements and did a recount and they showed up.
=============================================

Now for some reason Achievements don't show up in post bit, although their stats show. I know I must of done something lol, where should I look?
btw, the awards, bars etc show up fine

MyCTaK 11-17-2010 06:39 AM

Achievements will be fixed to show up in 404 GOLD version.

This is a wonderful mod. If this can integrate with hide mod, then it will be perfect. Hope you can update this feature soon.

RollaJedi 11-17-2010 02:09 PM

Hey Phalynx, could you please make an option to display or hide the "Points: #" in the postbit and postbit legacy? I dont want too many different numbers in there to confuse people. If they wanna know their points, they can look inside the 'experience' tab or float their mouse over the colored bars for a second.

If this is already a feature, please lmk where i can find it. thanks!

Greek76 11-18-2010 10:59 AM

Ive got a question. How is it possible that a new user got all these points at one visit?

COOL! thanks MyCtak!

worth mentioning though: i dont show "Show points below postcount?" I show 2 "Show level below postcount?" yes/no options instead. One of them does turn off the points though, its just mislabeled.

Probably you use the option to recount only active members. This guy haven't write new post from ages, but he gain new points for time, reputation... etc. Probably he haven't write before you install the version with achievements :) And you didn't recount when you install it. When he write new post Experience recount him and ... voala a lot of achievements.
Also check your Achievement goals.

Xceptional 11-18-2010 04:07 PM

How do I change the navbar tab name "Experience" to "Awards"? And how can I change the listing order of the tab coz it's now listed left before my Blog.

you can see how its all broken on my skin.. thanks for the help..

RollaJedi 11-18-2010 08:20 PM

I'm having some problems. I just updated my site to the newest version of VB (VB 4.0.8 pl1). I have vbexperience 4.0.3 right now and i recounted. Only some of my members have their achievements displayed in the postbit while others have nothing.

I have installed some other mods today though, so i'm not sure if that made a difference. Those i did were:
-rotating banner system
-easy forms
-webtemplates
-move inactive and lurkers to new usergroup

please, can someone help me? thanks!

MyCTaK 11-19-2010 07:45 AM

Ok, if you have problem read at least last 20 posts in thread.
