Thanks

I strongly doubt the files will fix themselves, so unless someone else encounters the same problem and is willing to assist me, it's pretty safe to say that nothing will change :)

Fillip

Aside from all of the CSS that Firefox doesn't like from vBulletin, the only things related to dbtech are:

Warning: Expected declaration but found '*'. Skipped to next declaration.
Source File: http://www.dfwsportbikes.org/clients...out_editor.css
Line: 1

Warning: Unknown property '-moz-opacity'. Declaration dropped.

Doesn't seem to be anything that would be severely impacting of the "Loading..." issue. But it also doesn't load the text editor at all, so I would take that with a grain of salt.

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 05:36 PM

You'd need to check the Errors tab, as those are just CSS warnings :)

I've registered with your site now that I so cleverly and stealthily aquired your URL, and I do not experience this Loading... issue.

Fillip

The only actual error is:

Error: this.aVSas[thisCbnr] is undefined
Source File: http://localhost:81/
Line: 413

And that may be part of the problem... half of the error logs are looking towards www.dfwsportbikes.org and that isn't the website yet..... it WILL be... but currently I am testing it locally and not live.

If you actually go to dfwsportbikes.org, the site functions fine... it's just the local copy that I'm having issues with.

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 06:13 PM

Then that is indeed most likely the issue :)

JavaScript has a tendency to halt any un-loaded scripts if it encounters an error, so if that script errored before vBShout loaded, then vBShout would be denied.

Fillip

But that's my problem.... I can't transition the site over from one server to another until I know that the shoutbox will work effectively... what do you recommend?

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 06:31 PM

Upgrade the live site :p

MegaManSec 09-08-2011 06:33 PM

Hey filip, I love this mod so much. I'v used it for over a year on diffrent forums..

But I have a question, Is it possible to move the white text box from the left, to underneath the shoutbox? Thanks :)

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 06:40 PM

That is a Pro-only feature :)

Fillip

And what happens if it breaks on the live site too? What kind of "backup" or reverting can be done?

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 07:10 PM

As you saw previously in this thread, if the same kind of error as they received occurs, I've offered to look into it on their sites :)

Downgrading is not supported, and renders you ineligible for future support.

It shows on the right side by default (or left side for RTL languages) and it can't be controlled beyond that.

I can't register to your forum due to your complex registration form process. Please provide me with an account that can access the shoutbox.

You don't, and vBulletin.org would not have provided you with the Pro version :)

Fillip

SPEEDKILLZ 09-08-2011 09:24 PM

Erica1977 09-08-2011 09:24 PM

How do you disable hooks in config.php?

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 10:16 PM

PHP Code:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

Fillip

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 10:17 PM

v5.4.7 Hotfix
Fix: The shoutbox should no longer get stuck on "Loading..." if you are running no other DBTech products. Please re-download the files then re-import the product .xml file. It is not needed to re-upload the files.

That is not a vBShout error so there's nothing I can do about that unfortunately :(

thecore762 09-08-2011 10:33 PM

Is there a way for me to disable plugins through mysql?

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 10:42 PM

Plugins are cached in the datastore, so doing that wouldn't do you much good I'm afraid.

Please try re-downloading and re-uploading all default vBulletin files, as I can confirm this does not happen on a vBulletin installation that has not had its core files edited.

Fillip

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 11:00 PM

I've uploaded another hotfix that should no longer require you to add the disable_hooks to config.php.

That being said, being unable to replicate this issue, I can't guarantee it will do any good.

Fillip

thecore762 09-08-2011 11:31 PM

Hi there, I figured out why it wasn't working.
I am a dumb ass.
I did not set vBSEO to 666...so i was locked out.

thecore762 09-08-2011 11:37 PM

P.S: Thank you Belazor and Ozzy47 for helping me out!
As always quality plugins and amazing support!

DragonByte Tech 09-08-2011 11:41 PM

Glad it worked out :)

You have got a PM with Login details

DragonByte Tech 09-09-2011 01:06 AM

You're still running v5.4.4, which is unsupported.

As for the loading issue, please re-download, re-upload and re-import the XML file. I believe I have fixed all the outstanding issues and also addressed the upgrade difficulties.

Fillip

jooohn1 09-09-2011 02:58 AM

Thank you so much. Its working fine now. I will be going for the pro in a week time. I prefer life time one.

Shoutbox has become extremely slow. After pressing enter its taking too long to show text on shoutbox. Am I missing any settings ???

DragonByte Tech 09-09-2011 11:19 AM

Try setting the refresh time to a lower amount.
You should also turn off the context menu, as the additional data it sends leads to extra server load.

In addition, hiding the shoutbox from guests prevents them from taking up resources when they can't shout (no guests can ever shout).

And finally, setting the Idle Timeout to a lower amount as well as turning on Auto-Idle can also help reduce the resources it consumes.

Fillip
