Cannot see the file modifications, I get a blank screen, can someone attach them in a txt file?

Ok Ok already. I recreated the notes for you guys. This is not official but it's what I have and use.

Huh... after my vB 3.0.4 update, the shoutbox is blank... and I found out that all the shoutbox templates disappeared. So I dug around and found the templates in the installer and then I manually created the templates. Actually, once I put the 'SHOUTBOX' template in a couple of styles, the other shoutbox templates that disappeared came back (but there were a couple of other styles I had to manually add the templates back up again).

Now I can shout again from the homepage... BUT if I click and go into shoutbox.php... it gives me this crap:

Yes, I just tried it and it is very easy.

Make a new Template and use this code or if you change the code that was on the FORUMHOME template use that.

Now, go to Add Module Under vBa CMPS, and enter this info:

Module Title: Shoutbox - Thats what I used, You can use anything
Module Identifier: Leave Blank
File to Include: None
OR Template to Include: shout - Same as the template but w/o "adv_portal"
Active: Yes
Column: Center Column
Display Order: Where ever you want it
Templates Used: Leave Blank

You may or may not have to go to Edit Page and Click on the page and make sure the shout box is checked.


Hope this helps and doesn't piss anyone off. Atleast someone is trying to help.

We had to run the installer after upgrading to to 3.0.3 and 3.0.4 and then everything worked fine. Oddly enough my template edits remained intact. But, hey, it works! :)

I still have the problem... even after uninstalling and reinstalling the shoutbox...

Hmm... could this be affected by my previous 1.0.3 Shoutbox installation?

If you mean after the upgrade to 3.0.4 nothing shows up on the shoutbox.php then I'd have to say no. I'm certain when I re-ran the installer it said I was on 1.03 and then when done 1.04. I thought I was on 1.04 but apparently I had downloaded the update and not installed it.

I have the hack on 3 sites. It does work. Abiet I have modified some templates and limited the operation in use and operation through the ACP settings and template mods. I believe I posted the shoutbox display code I use on forumhome and the settings I use to get the desired result. You can see this at the sites in my sig.

Reinstalled it again.... and it worked. I guess it didn't like my first reinstall, lol...
