I remember there was work on vbarcade 2.1, all that it needed was some tweaks to the admin panel, has all work stopped on this for vb2.30 users?

I plan on using vb2.30 for while. So just wondering if there were any more updates for this.

or if everything is going on hold till vb3.0.0 RC1+ comes out?

I'm wondering the same thing... I want to see the development of the new version for the 2x series as I'll be using that for some time until 3.0 goes through a few revisions after it's no longer beta...

I'd even consider a donation for this script as it's one of the most used features of my website. :D

Awesome idea.. However can you or someone figure out how to set it up so it will NOT show an arcade button/icon if the person has *zero* high scores in the arcade?

On the latest version (B2) of this hack I downloaded today, the error was still there. Seems you forgot to fix it? ;)


I manually entered the global directive on a 2.3.0 board and now online.php works nice ;)

An idea for an addon:

What about a medals-addon for the Arcade?

Ie. creating gold, silver and bronze instead of 1 leader for each game. this way users would retain a "prize" and there would be much competition to obtain/keep the (at least) bronze, for example ;)

We've had our arcade installed for awhile now, and it worked fine at first. Recently though, the games haven't been loading and stuff. When is the next version coming?

Now I'm just missing how to translate the name of the months and the "th" besides the DATE (already modified the th,rd on the positions).

SInce I guess it's the system Date, how could I modify this?

And oh yes, I use the Today/Yesterday hack... is it possible to use this on the Arcade?

one thing I'd like to see is, a hall of fame addon, aka top 5 scores from each game goto a special page for that month. Then at the end of the month you can do a arcade wipe. This would keep the size of your database smaller, and each month players would see who the top player was.

up to now I was thinking of doing this manually but if you could add this to the arcade script it would rock..

I dont want to sound stupid, but we had installed the (Who's Online v0.0.2 Hack) sometime back which overwrites the (online.php) file that needs to be edited for the Arcade Hack. I didn't realize it before I started, but the overwritten (online.php) file does not contain any of the code that needs to be changed or added to complete this Arcade Hack. This file contains very little code at all. So now Im 80% complete with this installation and stuck. Has anyone else had this problem?? And can anyone Help??

If there's a 'case' in your current online.php just add arcade's somewhere there.

Or you could uninstall the hack (or copy the online.php from the original distro file) and reapply arcade first, whos online next.

Areku, Thank you for replying and thats just what I did, I removed the whos online hack for now by reinstalling the original distro file.

But now I seem to have another problem,
I installed the arcade hack in a Test Only vb board I have set up online at my site (with vb's permission) and the hack works perfect. Then I installed this hack on our main vb board using the same files I hacked for the test board along with the same templates I created, but the arcade files seem to be looking for itself in the wrong directories when I try to run it.
My directory structure is like this "/public_html/urbanflows/forums/admin"
(the admin directory is password protected)
I installed the files in the forums and admin directories as required but If I try to run the program from the link on the forums home page it keeps looking in the urbanflows directory for the files. And everything looks normal in the admin cp except that the icons don't show up, and their also looking for themselves in the urbanflows directory too.
If you visit this link you'll see that none of the graphics show up and the links on the page don't know where any of the files are.

The program just seems confused about where its at.

Sylem you have to change the url in the admin cp in vbulletin options but now i am haveing another problem no matter what i do i get this

First of all: Nice Hack and it was a lot of work to create such a hack. Very nice and very good work.

But let's come to a strange thing which occured currently. Here is the background:

I installed the hack on my beta forum. It's windows 2000 server with the latest PHP and MySQL db on it. It is a complete replication of my production environment where i run SuSe Linux and the same PHP and MySQL version. The only difference is, that the server is linux and not windows.

Your hack worked fine on the windows server and it was easy to install on the linux server. But i CAN NOT add icons to new games.

So i checked the whole thread here. A lot of bla bla and there was only 1 good answer to this problem. But finally it did NOT help. I tried every path in the generall options. The problem is, that in your hack you store the blob of the graphic in the database.

Right now i used the workaround to dump the corresponding lines from my test environment and import them into the production db. But this was not your intention when you created the hack.

And i checked also safe mode upload for PHP ( as already mentionend in an earlier posting ) and my avatar uploads are working fine in my vbulletin forum.

I also tried to reinstall the hack and start from scratch on both environments. I did the same steps on both servers. Finally it worked as expected on the windows server but it worked NOT on the linux server.

Could you please investigate this problem because there are 5 people in this thread where only 1 guy helped himself by fixing his path problem. So i assume that there are 4 more people here including me waiting for a fix or a solution for this problem.

But please keep in mind: Your hack is great and we love it all !!!

This hack works really great but it doesnt record any scores! Whats wrong?

Also the links are the same color as my table color and I wanna change that for the arcade..... cant edit the custom templates! I am using IE 6!

I'm just about to install this, was wondering when the next update was coming out again ;) for those of us that use vb 2.3.2 and are not planning on a vb3.0 update, it would be kewl to get the up coming features.

If it's just work on admin layout or other I can help if needed :)

WISH LIST:
- Being able to record top 5 scores for month for all games on a sperate page, called Hall of fame, each month's scores would would be archived.

- One that is done, then running wipe scores for the main arcade, to help keep the arcade section of the datebase smaller. And still keep records for members.

- Link had made a jackpot addon, for the store hack, although this hasn't been updated for 2.3.x, I'd love to see something like this again for the store hack.

How it would work in a nut shell is, members win so many points for the store hack, when they get 1st 2nd or 3rd place in the arcade. anyway that doesn't beat the score, points would be allowcated to a pool, or jack pot. till someone got the highest score.. or 1st 2nd or 3rd, people in 2nd and 3rd would get a portion of the jackpot. Also I'd like to see if someone remakes the addon, have support to toggle how many points people get, when they win etc etc.

anyway thats part of my wish list I'd love to see for this hack, I'd do it my self, but still learning, however I can help with templates ;)

Comments aren't stored? Has this been fixed? I've seen it asked over 20 times but never answered.

Nope I'm having this problem too its definetley a bug!

Also any one using a Mac browser (IE etc.) and anyone using Netscape cannot have their scores saved.

Same here, using xpSp1 and IE6 , also tryed with opera but after the game it brought me to the www.mainsite.com/proarcade.php rather then my bburl www.mainsite.com/~subdomain/forum

odd....can anyone shead some light on this? im glad its not just me thats having the scoreboard problem, ive been ripping my hair out trying to get it going right

I tried the same things as you did to try to get this to work and alas I have failed. I dunno about you but I'd say this hack needs an overhaul or something before it goes full release!

well i agree with the author in his previous post, it HAS to be something about our machines...i had another user test it, and sure as hell he got his highscore up....hmmmm

I dont know what it could possibly be..... I am clueless at this point... its really not fair because I get higher scores than my members and they dont get recorded!! :cry:

I'm tryign to install Hexxagon, I uploaded the game, and ran the query, but the game isn't showing up when I click to play the game. The flash box isn't showing up at all. I triple checked filenames, and everything is correct?
