There's a newer version of this available just in case your interested. Search the 3.7 forums. I handle the collected definitions thread. I'll take a look at sapo and post any updates in that thread. It's linked as the Add-On for AME 2.0.

Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried looking through posts before here but my eyes are hurting now haha.

Oh, and I can't see "Resolve URL titles" under (admincp->AME CP->Settings).
Help please? x

Already added to the Master XML, but you need to go to the link I posted above and click the Add-On.

my forum has 1.7M posts. how long does installation take??

i'm afraid that it is crashing my server due to the load of the installation but i don't dare to stop it for fear that the midway installation will cause my site to crash. it has been going on for 30 minutes now. what should i do?

if i just stopped installation, will anything happen? how do i uninstall the stuff added to vb_post already??

Digital Jedi 12-29-2008 07:16 PM

Installation usually doesn't take all that long, but this is the older version of AME, and 2.0 for vB 3.7.x has been out for a few months now. You may want to consider going with the most recent stable version.

Give it some more time to install and if nothing happens. There's no way to know what will happen because there's no way to know why it's hanging up. Forum size shouldn't matter, I don't think. What you need to do, what I would do, is make sure you get a complete installation before you even think of trying to uninstall anything.

tks Jedi for the help.

i let it run through the night (total about 5h+) and in the morning it was still running! So i closed the window and thank God my forum was ok and nothing seemed to have change. I couldn't find the product in the 'manage product' page either. Any idea what is wrong?

oh, and the reason why i didn't use the newest is cause my vbulletin is still 3.7.4 and i didn't know if the v2 is compatible. Is it?

2.0 was created for the 3.7 series. This was created for the 3.6 series.

It's possible that this version isn't compatible with 3.7.4. 2.0 was released prior to that, so most folks wouldn't still be running this version.

sorry, i'm confused. my vb is 3.6.8. Will the v2 be compatible?

Should I try to reinstall? Not sure why it kept going non-stop the last time though. I just see this bar below the message 'Installing Product.." that keeps getting longer and longer without end.

The Geek said he didn't see any reason why not when he first posted it, but it doesn't hurt to double check and search the thread to be sure. I don't know why it would do that on install, but it may be somethin unique to your forum.

AFemaleProdigy 07-23-2009 07:08 PM

I realize this isn't supported anymore, but does anyone know why I might get this error when I enable the product and try to view the "newthread" page?

Warning: require_once(/home/content/M/R/S/MRSBolin/html/newworld/forums/includes/ame_bbcode.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /newthread.php(266) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/content/M/R/S/MRSBolin/html/newworld/forums/includes/ame_bbcode.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/content/M/R/S/MRSBolin/html/newworld/forums/newthread.php(266) : eval()'d code on line 1

It goes away if I disable the product. I am using vb 3.6.8.

Got a question I didn't see asked here. Well actually I searched and returned 0 results.

I'm not familiar with the replace strings this uses, but I want to create an auto convert for images.

So someone posts a direct link to a jpg file, and it converts it to either the img code, or html img src.

Is there a guide to explain how to manage this?

See post 5 of my thread. I wouldn't recommend doing what you suggested, but you can at least find out how it works and judge for yourself: DJ's AME (Auto Media Embedding) XML Media Definitions for AME 2.5 (Delta)

Viruseater 08-27-2009 08:41 AM

Thansk for that . that's exactly what I'd need.

Could you elaborate a little on why you think it'd be a bad idea?

Because it would have to be such a broad RegEx, you could end with things trying to convert to a JPG image, when you didn't necessarily want them to.

Great plugin. I have installed it at my work at home forums.

you have two imported code, just delete one youtube definition. Probably you imported twice the AME definition without deleting the old ones.

Does anybody know if this will auto embed vimeo video URLs?

bmckain 03-31-2011 12:51 AM

I installed this and really like it. Been wanting this functionality for some time. However, I do have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to answer viewing this thread or in the install guide.

1. How do you import the other definitions? For instance I downloaded the Quicktime definition and copied it to the xml folder but I don't think that's how it's done.

2. If I did do the import correctly then what type of link is acceptable? I uploaded it to a server and pasted the link into a post where the MOD is enabled and it didn't parse the link into a video. I'm guessing this must be because it has to come from a streaming support site like Vimeo or Youtube but thought I would ask.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I've only had this installed for a day and already I've had requests for Vimeo so I'll add my two cents for anyone who understands how to do this.

bmckain 03-31-2011 01:55 AM

Well, a little more searching and I found the latest version should support VB 3.6 so I gave it a try and it does. It resolves the vimeo request. Now off to the new forum.
