I like the idea behind that mod. I Installed it but then I Uninstalled it because it didn't work as I imagined (I saw it very quickly).
Some things I think could be better. So here are my opinion/feedback to help you improve this mod. (I hope my opinion could help a llittle bit more to implementation) :-) 1) The video/audio player could be "in post" and not external. It is beautifull to darken the forum and apear the video but not so functional. (it requires more clicks) (or administrator could choose the best for him and his forum. In post or like it is right now. 2) Preview image of the video is too small I believe that it is better to have the preview of video as it is in an existing youtube mod I have installed. (or/and admin can change the resolution of video preview and the image preview) 3) Mod works automatically in Advanced Post Editor, but in Quick reply it dont work. (I had to edit my post in Advanced Post Editor, so the plugin could work. 4) I tried to play DivX video from my server and I heard only sound. The screen was just green.!! (a mozzilla plugin installed to my pc too so I can play DivX through my browser . (I didn't restart my machine after the divx Plugin installation to check it out further). (does it play both divx and Xvid?) 5) Maybe an option to enable / disable the automatic function of the plugin and a button to disable the function to a specific link?? (suppleness) :-) 6) When i tried to play Mp3 from my server, my board seemed to stuck (my server for hosting the last two days have some kind of disfunctionality in Database, so I cant be sure if the above is a fault of the plugin or from my server. I uploaded manually (not using the forum) a TEST.mp3 to my servers FTP and i tried to play the mp3 through a post but i writed "test.mp3" (not capital letters). Ok. It is natural that it didn't work. But...when I renamed my file to TEST.mp3, the hole forum stucked...(For me)!!! So using the "back" buttons from my browser, i tried to edit my post and remove the mp3 line i had...!! Then it corrected the error. (I repeat, I noticed that my server had some database functionality issues the last two days, so I can't verify if that is an error of the mod or an error from my host company that specific moment....!!!) anyway, forum is working perfect now and I have no problems at all..!!! :-) That's all my feedback for now relative to that beautiful mod, I hope I helped a bit!!! ;-) I believe that it is a very nice plugin and that you should improve it..!!! (I think that it is very useful to have) Looking forward for improvements of that module, so I can use it to my forum.!!! :-) Thanks for your mod!!! :-) Ps: Sorry for my bad English. :-) |

I will check it again. 5. I mean that it is good to just ad in post a http://youtube.com/blahblah32532 and it parse it as a video automatic, but if an option in Admins CP to choose if the admin want automatic function or not for the usergroups would be better. :-) (maybe some option in group permissions, so admin can choose what usergroup can have automatic function of the mod (video link conversion to [Media] "link"[/Media] )and what usergroup not (if not there should be a button to convert the video/audio/etc link to a video/audio/etc player). For me as an admin, I feel that I have better control of my video-image-audio posts if i see the code and if i am the one who pressed the button to use the module. In general it is always good to have an option. :-) 6) The link of my mp3 was http://myserver.com/test.mp3 (I didn't check if it works as an attachment through forum. Only using the link of a mp3 file I uploaded using ftp. I will check again the module and give you my results :-) I Believe it must get support from users because it is very good to have such a mod/plugin to our forums :-) Oh, I like the fact that admin can set permissions to each section or subforum for the usage of that module. and some extra info so you know in what system i am running your plugin (for Debugging purposes): I am using Vbulletin 3.6.8 and have vBadvanced CMPS v3.0 RC2 installed too!! :-) |
Updated from AnyMedia, I've uninstalled all the anymedia files from my server uninstalled the product and when I install goldbrick I get:

EDIT: The issue was the version of PHP. I upgraded the server from PHP4 to PHP5 and it now works great! Thank you for this wonderful MOD.

I have installed it, it is showing the video sites like youtube etc. but its not showing my own clips( wmv, rm) . I have already tried everything but cant get it work for my own files (wmv, RM ). from the readme: All Other Media - None Video sites (flv, avi, mp3, jpg etc) Create a new thread or reply. in my reply boxes i dont get a M button, my members have to manually type in the [media] code?? also I am still running the old version the anymedia 3.1, i tried this goldbrick version and it gave me a error code in my shoutbox and my soutbox stopped working, so i unstalled it. any help on trying to get the m button in my reply box or get the goldbrick one working???

Hi,
I just deleted all my anymedia files and template edits (from the previous version of anymedia). After that I made a fresh install of goldbrick 1.5 (I am running vb 3.6.8 patch level 2). The video sites like youtube etc. are working fine but when I try to play my own .wmv files the player doesn't show up (see attachment please). I know its supporting wmv files. please see the attachment. What should I do? |

First off, I am enjoying this Mod. Wonderful. Are you still adding sites? I have one I need added to be able to embed. www.rcuvideos.com. Uses SWF files, but I am having a heck of a time creating an RCUV.php file for it. |

Im not sure if this site has been added to the Any media hack.. And before i attempt to install it i was wondering if you had this site included in there. Its similar with stage 6 but stage 6 works on my boards and this one doesn't If its not added could you please add it? because its 100 times better than stage 6 will ever be. I'll post the links of the site below.
