Question please.

When I upload a new game, the high score does not save.

Any suggestions please.

Kirk Y 03-27-2006 08:49 PM

That happened to me once too. Just beat your previous high score -- it should begin working then.

NDRPrelude 03-28-2006 02:34 AM

Is anybody else having a problem with it now picking up secondary user groups? What is the ETA on the next release?

Madacc 03-28-2006 05:32 AM

I really wish we could get a version of deal or no deal.. http://www.nbc.com/Deal_or_No_Deal/game/

I have searched for this solution, and seen people ask for it 3 times in this thread, but no one has helped?

It seems impossible to upload games. I upload the .swf files, set the File Path in Game Tools to the folder I uploaded them to, then hit Start. It NEVER finds the games.

"Extract and upload the games you want to import into the arcade/games folder." - There is no "arcade" folder in the forum root, so what is this talking about? Why does it tell me WHERE to upload my games to, then offer the chance to SPECIFY my chosen file path? Surely that is a conflict.

Let's take a look at the steps.

1. Extract and upload the games you want to import into the arcade/games folder. Make sure that you CHMOD the following folders to 0777 for this import:
forumroot/admincp/games
forumroot/images/arcade
forumroot/games

Well, my admin is not located at "admincp", but "hq". Is this a problem, will this kill things? Secondly, as I mentioned, there is no such folder www.domain.com/forumroot/arcade/.

2. File Path
The location of your uploaded files, in relation to your root forum folder. It should be readable AND writeable by your web server (usually chmod 0777).

So above, I was asked to upload the new games into an imgainary folder forumroot/arcade/games. Now, I am prompted to set the location of my uploaded games, relative to my root forum. Which is correct? Where on earth am I supposed to upload the games to?

3. Importing Games
There are no more games to import.

Same story, no games.

Can anyone help?

Madacc 03-28-2006 02:31 PM

lukeeales.. I had the same problem. My only solution was installing this hack and doing them all manually.

Apologies if this has been asked before. I was playing Space Invaders today and when the game was complete it tried to take me to the high score screen but I was apparently logged out during the game. I logged in again but ended up losing the high score. What do I need to do to prevent this from happening to other users? Is this a cookie timeout issue or something in V3 itself?

Yes, cookie issue. Either increase the timeout period, or encourage users to click "remember me" when logging in.

I told you already... Is it showing your Personal Best score? If so, just beat that and it should start showing High Scores -- I had this problem too.

It says on v3arcade.com, March 30th.

Hi John,

I installed v 1.0.5 and found a small bug.
If you make a quick reply in the postbit_legacy view the Arcade and Challenge link are not shown.
If you reload the page then they're there.

Can you check this please?

Is there any hack available which lets people use uCash or some other cash system to bet on challenges in the arcade?

I currently use the ibProArcade 2.5.5+ and I also use mkportal.
Now, since I upgraded to Mr.Zeropage's new version I am getting errors and he said he will not support mkportal and his arcade.
At this point, I have no where to turn.
Without going through all of your threads on this v3 arcade, I was wondering if v3 arcade does support mkportal, how hard is it to impliment and get games for etc?
Yes, I am considering switching as as you see in this post, I may also refer all mkportal users to your arcade as well if they work nicely.
Here is my post about the issue:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=111753

Here is my current arcade:
http://www.cpfools.com/forum/arcade.php
Also, I have this template mod that adds a section to see the arcade here:
http://www.cpfools.com/forum/index.php

I would really appreciate your opinions and advice on this move. This would mean all my members would need to start over and MUCH work on my end trying to delete and reconfigure so as much advice you have on this would be great!
Thank you VERY much

Is there a hack to require a certain amount of posts before people can play???? I know you can do it for each game but is there a way to set it for all games????

Thanks

I also have the following error on my main arcade.php page

PHP Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.3:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT FROM arcade_categories AS arcade_categories WHERE isactive=1 ORDER BY displayorder ASC;

bashy 04-02-2006 11:53 AM

C_P 04-02-2006 04:49 PM

Wow, no one with mkportal and no input on my reply? I would have thought someone would have? VERY weird.

bashy 04-02-2006 08:04 PM

Scroll up 6 posts. It's just above.

bashy 04-02-2006 09:13 PM

Ah right, ok m8, I had this ibpro issue and MKPortal...
I removed it and installed this 1 an now all is well....

Just uninstall (reversal of install) IBP and follow the
instructions for this 1 m8

You will be pleased im sure :) I didnt see any probs
during install and after....

bashy 04-02-2006 09:15 PM

PS, i have just installed over 300 games (i think it was) and i got them for
the IBP arcade ;)

Going bed now so PM me if ya need any (not too technical) help lol
Chack mine out if you wish at www.bashys-place.com/forums/arcade.php
Ya will need to register though, Sorry :o

C_P 04-02-2006 11:22 PM

Hello bashy,
Thank you for the input. My biggest concern was if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 if I have to remove and tables from my database, etc. to have a clean removal.
Then once I remove it, how hard is it to instal and to get games for?
See, I wrap my portal around my forum and Mr.Zeropage (who created ibProArcade 2.5.5) staates there is no support for his arcade if you use mkportal.
I just do not want to have the same thing if I remove the ibProArcade 2.5.5 and install this one.

Hey there,

If you look at my arcade you can see the top Nav Bar header is missing it should look like this:

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4286/v33fr.jpg

But my arcade top header looks like this:

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/5...33333331mj.png

Heres a link to my arcade http://blue-inc.org I have made it so guests can see the arcade, but I did install everything corectly with the templates edits and the ftp uploading.

To be quite honest what should I do to get the Nav Bar back? Sorry guys I just thought you guys would know as you're the coding php experts, and you guys have a vBulletin forum.

theres a setting in the arcade settings in admin cp mate, where u can enable/disable the regular navbar...try that.

ogden2k 04-03-2006 04:34 PM

Maybe I'm overlooking it, but where do I whipe all of the scores?

Gizmo5h1t3 04-03-2006 04:43 PM

isnt that a seperate add on?

u can delete scores per user id, and delete all zero scores by default..im sure wiping all scores is a seperate add on m8

CLICK HERE FOR THE ADD ON

Thanks for answering my question, mate. ;)

Serial Killer 04-03-2006 06:48 PM

v3 Arcade is a fantastic piece of coding, it truly is. It integrates superbly into vBulletin and has a really cool layout. It also has some good mods written by Oblivion Knight. But what it needs most is more games! At the moment there are only 5 legal games for it. So we're all in limbo. Do we get ibproarcade with its stacks of games and cool features but rubbish template system, v3arcade with it's wicked vB integration...or do you get the absolutely awesome GameSiteScript with its 1750 top-quality games, but it's expensive?

My advice...until v3arcade gets some more games, get your cheque book out...

I believe regular ibproarcade games work with this, why don't you try that.

bashy 04-03-2006 07:14 PM

Yes they do, I have installed about 400 games and all work fine :)
Although i could do with more???????
I am having issues installing .tar games :( else i would have about another 511 games :( any Ideas?

Serial Killer 04-03-2006 07:42 PM

I've thought about the ibpro arcade games, but if you visit www.v3arcade.com, they advise that unless a game becomes available on v3arcade.com, then it should be considered illegal. Maybe the game designers have only given permission for their games to be used on ibpro arcade, I don't know...

And I operate a legit(ish) business which is doing quite well, so i don't want any legal eagles trying to take down my empire! ;)

Blue-Inc 04-04-2006 01:02 PM

Anyone know how to fix my problem? :(

3dsoft 04-04-2006 03:17 PM

The challenge system won't work with IPB games.
I can only challenge a user with the installed V3 Arcade games. All games from IPB are not working, eventhough I can play IPB games.
