class_anymedia.php is in the includes folder as it always has been, but I still get this same error and we cant use your hack at all....any other ideas why this error appears?

Cheers.

blind-eddie 08-15-2006 01:57 PM

maybe you put it in the wrong includes folder.Im not trying to insult your intelligence, but from what I see in your post you in fact did put the class_anymedia.php in the wrong includes folder.Im having no problems with this hack.

ang2el 08-16-2006 01:03 PM

I believe Crist is coming up with new features along with VB 3.6 version.. its like the silent moment just before boooommmmmmmmmm :)

JollyJack 08-16-2006 04:43 PM

i,ve just installed this on 3.6, when i link it to a youtube link, i get the sound but not the video, just white screen, at top of post it says to refresh, but this dont clear it, tried re-uploading aswell no good, is this a problem 3.6 users are having

orphan 08-16-2006 07:14 PM

Getting this "Error: unsupported media type. " when trying to run Google Vids :tired:

osso12 08-16-2006 09:05 PM

When you add the url to the media type, make sure you do not add it as a link. Or if you copy the url, make sure you use the "remove link" option on your tool bar.

friendly 08-16-2006 09:24 PM

I've uninstalled this superb hack and will reinstall when the 3.6.0 version comes out. Cheers!

Works fine on my 3.6 board. Just use the youtube and google players. There is an option in the AdminCP

osso12 08-17-2006 01:45 AM

Mine is still working since the 3.6 upgrade as well.
Superbly I might ad.

I post it like this
Code:

[media]http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5840822554806198162[/media]
What else am i supoose to do?

bballchris1504 08-17-2006 12:40 PM

Has anyone had issues with .wmv files not playing, but just showing a black screen?? I'm having this problem only with .wmv files, .avi files have worked through my tests so far.

Please help!

FleaBag 08-17-2006 02:57 PM

Hi bball - I thought it was that attachments were not working. Realised all my attachments are wmv so I must be suffering from the same problem as you. I am using 3.6 though.

bballchris1504 08-17-2006 07:15 PM

Well I guess in one sense it's good to know that I'm not the only one -- sadly, this is the only reason I'm using the script -- for attachments playing inline -- it's great functionality if it worked, then I wouldn't even need to consider buying PhotoPost...

If you goto Anymedia options in the Admin control panel, there is an option to tell it to use youtubes player. Its just a unchecking a check mark.

Well, after more tests, .mp4 isn't working either...so to me it seems that none of the video attachments work playing inline except for .avi

Anyone know why I may be experiencing this, or have solved a problem similar to this themselves?

Thanks in advance

Hi Crist,

Did you ever add any restrictions or limitations yet of the media tags to prevent thread denial-of-service attacks?

I checked the changelogs, but I don't think anything was mentioned there.

Thanks

it's coming.

Apparently the three days was posted long ago (something like a week or two, before I left for Florida I saw it and when I returned it was there).

I take it as a lesson in patience (that I very much so need). :)

Mysticales 08-18-2006 02:34 AM

I plan to install now, However just for asking, just to be sure.. this doesnt open up any script exploits does it? I mean I dont want my users harmed or so. Nor allow a way to mess up forums.

Confirm? Any cautions I need to look at?

Mysticales 08-18-2006 03:14 AM

Hey, final question.. I need to know what I could use for settings so it DOESNT cost a server load. I have a large community forum, they asked for media tags like to show youtube and so, however, I know Flash stuff if loaded from the server causes more of a load, bandwitdh etc, so was wondering, what can I do to make this not be a issue on the server load or sites general performance, yet make sure users get the media tags?

InfoAddict 08-18-2006 03:24 AM

HI,

Every was working fine on my forum (3.6) until someone clicked on the "last page" link of a long thread, and got this:

Warning: filename: class_anymedia.php, exec_fname: /home/gu/www/forum/includes/class_postbit.php(421) : eval()'d code, filepath: /home/gu/www/forum/includes/class_anymedia.php in /includes/class_postbit.php(421) : eval()'d code on line 2

Apart from that - its fine. Works well elsewhere - just breaks when you try to go to the last page of a long thread (well, i'm guessing, as thats the only thing thats is different).

I guess it could be that in the last page of that thread, someone tried a media tag that broke it - but hard to tell as i can never get to the last page without that error (as I then get a :

Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /home/gu/www/forum/includes/class_core.php
Line: 3012

).

naeemakhtar 08-18-2006 09:54 AM

Hi there,

when a guest goes to my site they cant see the videos!! They just see the anymedia code tags and the path to my videos directory/files - which is NOT good!! How can I stop this from happening so that they can see the video play too?

EVERYBODY! LETS HUNT DOWN CRIST THE CODER!!!!!!! Let's go to his chinese homepage, we must email his friends and anyone associated, lets lookup his domain whois, lets email anybody and everybody who may know the whereabouts of CRIST, it has been entirely too long since anyone has seen or heard from him, and i think it is the duty of the vbulletin community to find out where he is!

ang2el 08-20-2006 01:54 PM

I think he is busy to bring out some exciting feautures along with VB 3.6 support.

A slinent moment before BIG BANG !!!

wolfyman 08-20-2006 02:11 PM

would a crist hunt be similar to a witch hunt? Because I don't think we'll get much support after burning him at the stake...

MajorFm.com 08-20-2006 04:46 PM

This is the best mod in a while i have come across! thank you so much for the release...

I'm using it on vb.3.0.6 and it seems to work fine...

There are however a few tests that didn't work...

Please check:

http://www.majorfm.com/forum/importa...ia-player.html

...and let me know what i'm doing wrong!

MajorFm.com 08-20-2006 05:10 PM

Also does anyone know why this happens:

White Screen Instead Of Player - Even Though I Refreshed Again & Again
http://www.majorfm.com/forum/video-v...l-panties.html

but when you view the post on its own:
http://www.majorfm.com/forum/218984-post1.html

Seems to work fine on firefox though....

It works fine... something must be conflicting it on thread view... any suggestions?

nix 08-20-2006 05:38 PM

Those both seem to work for me in IE and FF. I usually just use the sites own players instead of the one that comes with AnyMedia.

For the google problems I see what people are saying now. They just stopped working recently. I played with the code and got them to work again.

I think you're talking a heap of ****. If he doesn't want to come here, he doesn't have to - and you have no right to hunt him down.

LOL, you're ridiculous.

ubblite 08-20-2006 08:29 PM

Maybe someone could ask another coder to port this out and include fixes, but I'm not sure if the original coder has been gone long enough for this to happen.

Selene 08-20-2006 09:47 PM

I talked to cris on MSN, he said he is busy with work these days, and that he doesnt have time, but asap he gets some spare time he will do it.

So ppl we are looking for a delay here :(

ubblite 08-20-2006 09:53 PM

Thanks for the info on Crist, Selene.
