well im confused i did this install with the TP edits as metioned but i dont see a spot to actually add the icons , all i see is the place to select the setting in options "Forum Category Icons" thats it no screen to where you add or select an image VB 4.1 PATCH 2
|
Kingkong, you have to go to Forum Manager, EDIT forum and scroll to the bottom of a particular forum to select image for it.
If you are there but don't see anything, then you need to make "forumicons" folder under /images/ and upload pictures there and then refresh the forum manager page. |
WOW ok so did i even have to make template edits at all ? i actually see now where the option is to change the image , in forum manager , and happy new year to you , i didnt think i would get a reply tonight lol

UPDATE , 4.1 PATCH 2 no template edits needed , install the .xml create the image folder .. go to forum manager and start picking your icons . also make sure that when youre in your setting for this mod that your "Category Icons Folder" at the bottom has the same name as the image folder that you placed in your root . or when you chose the drop down menu in your forums manager youll see no pics .. thats all no TP edits nice work ..... thank you , HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL BLESSINGS TO THE FAMILIES ...

Doesn't seem to work, using 4.1.0 PL2.
I have imported the XML file, then created the folder within the images folders for the icons to sit in; placing the lock.png and two others in there for good measure, then checked over the settings via Options > Forum Category Icons - proceeded to Forum Manager > Edit Forum > and scrolling to the bottom.. nothing. ;-[ |
This breaths new life into the forums! It gets rid of that out of the box look vbulletin has. Thanks so much for this! I've got it on 4.1.0 PL2 and it works great!

Is it possible to modify this mod to allow you to double-click this icon to mark the specific forum and its contents as read?
It works when you do, however unlike the normal way, this will act as a link and bring you to the subforums. I'd really love this mod but the lack of this default vBulletin ability is making for some cranky users. ;) Thanks for your hard work. |
Got a quick note and I am not sure if this possible. For some of my members, the opacity difference is just not enough to take notice that a new post has been made in the forum. Would it be possible to get an OPTIONAL overlay option in the vBulletin for when a forum has new posts. I am thinking of putting the word "NEW" as the image for the overlay.
Not sure how hard this would, but it would IMMENSELY appreciated if this could be done if it is at all possible. |
