You mean another folder on your server? As categories are a database thing only :)

Set the new folder correctly in the DownloadsII settings (warning: you can't move it outside your forums folder!). Check if it has the 777 chmod (writable). Then try removing the ec_temp subfolder of the downloads folder, if it still doesn't work. Finally you could check the chown permissions.

Thats not our problem, proberbly i did?t explain it right...sorry therefore.

I?m talking about the downloaded files themself......we can?t move, rename them.

I?ve made 2 screen?s for you, hopefully you can see what i?m talking about (unfortunally our forum is in german, but i don?t think that should be a problem). And sorry for the size of the screens....the thumbnails woun?t work

The problem is, that there is no button in the upper section to make changes to the file......if I need to put the file in a different category, I can choose a category, but i can?t supmit. The same when i need to rename the file.

The button in the lower section is only for uploading a new file.....but if I press this button, when making a change in the upper section, the whole file is gone because i didn?t choose a new file to upload.

There's only one button for submitting both the text information and the file. If you linked a file, you will see the url when you edit the file. If you uploaded a file, both field will be empty, but you should be able to submit the form without filling them. Then the old, uploaded file will be preserved. Normally it can't be gone if you don't fill in the upload/link field when renaming/moving/...

If it does, please pm me your site url and a login/password with download edit permissions, so I can check it out.

Just a quick update what happened.....moving the file went good, but when trying to download the moved file it says:
Warnung: copy(./downloads/http://) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/downloads.php (Zeile 704)
ERROR: File not found.

I checked my downloads logs and it had years of entries. So i tested using 1 day for prune logs.

It still doesn't work?
