LightBringer - we don't condone the release of any hacks here for vb3 until after the first release candidate.

So i'd expect you have quite a while before you see a re-release of this hack for vb3. Not only the fact you have to wait for vb3 but the depth of code for this hack will make it quite a tough cookie to convert over to vb3 coding standards :)

Yo man... when is the stable version coming out.. this beta has some serious bugs!!! It won't save my score on IE6.0. Im not saying this is not a nice hack or that I don't appreciate you sharing this with us, thank you very much, very nice hack!

I played the games on IE5.0 and it saved score, then I re-installed IE6.0 and the game scores weren't being saved again.

i got it working now
just the $vpachampicon and/or $vpachamptext dont work
but that is minor

everything is installed, but games take forever and a day to load, and never finish.

accually I've been waiting for vb pro arcade 2.1 to come out before I install the arcade again. My users really loved 2.0 got all of it to work fine for install. Cept the query count was really high after adding lots of games.

You seem to be the only one having this problem, so I don't think it's a bug.

I doubt there will be another release untill vB3.0 goes gold but who knows.

I said who knows. Only the hacker knows the answer to this question. Though I think it would be pretty pointless to spend any more time on vb2 with the completion of vb3 starting to somewhat pick up.

the arcade link is in the middle, just above the forumbits.

make sure the address and the path to the game files is right, sometimes you have to remove the / off the end of the address to the games also.

but its defo a prob with the address or path to the games and thats why there not loading because they can not be found.

i'll try taking off the last / then. i know i already took off the first, i even put in the full path, as well as the actual addy to them on my server, but nothing.

what about under MODIFY GAMES > HTML code for game?
am i supposed to mess with that?

and why would i need an "add game" if the games are already on my server?

Ok firstly there's no need to make so many consecutive posts ;)

To your issue. Remove the first slash before the games path. On a fresh install of this hack it is ' /games/ ' - Change it to ' games/ '

You have the add game feature for adding games into the database. There is another thread in this forum with a list of new games you can add to your arcade :)

Well i can't think of anything else. I assume your games directory is in your forums root directory too?

ok, im good to go. someone in the vb chat here helped me out, gave me a tip that i havent seen in this thread yet, so here goes.

if, after you've tried and installed everything correctly, and your forum looks all in place, but your games do not load up, then you need to go:

admin cp > vbProArcade/General Options > Path to games

change that from whatever you have it to: admin/games/

access your server, where all this is located at, and move your "games" dir to your "admin" dir.

now go to your forum and refresh, check your games. should work now.

Some kind gentleman has been helping me get rid of this query loop in the main arcade page. I have like 20 games and 13 queries atm. Still one tiny error though :)

on page 60, I found out how to make this work. If anyone have the same problem, just change a line in proarcade.php

GDH you get that error when you get to the game using your back button on your browser. You didn't have to modify anything. Just refresh instead of using the back button. That's why the message is under every game. =]

I'm guessing that change in your code opened up a security issue for the scores.

I just click to my forum -> click the arcade page -> select game -> play game -> when it end, the error message come up

I have just tried to restore that line, ended up showing the error. I have also try to refresh on that page before I play, but the error still occur after the game ended!

When I finish a game, instead of goning to www.mydomain.com/fourm/proarcade.php it goes to www.mydomain.com/proarcade.php. What did I do wrong?

I was just messing with the arcade, and saw noticed one of the coolest feature....the personal score display page!

I thought may be this could be a part/extra feature for the hack to show a link to a member's score page in their postbit (or anywhere else). Heres the code

#1. Open your vbproarcade_playgame template and see if everything is alright.

#2. Go to any game's settings, and see if theres anything unusual in the "HTML Code for Game" box.

when you install, this is what I use for directory,

Linux system

url/forum/
url/forum/games/
url/forum/images/graphics/

in arcade setting I use games/ (not /games/)

all swf goto games folder, all graphics for games goto
url/forum/images/graphics/

I also made a cleaned up version of all the templates which I posted somewhere around post 75+ I think that and the install script and I get a clean install ever time.

First of all, wicked hack. Works perfectly for me and my users.

One suggestion that I have seen in this thread that has not been answered:

How can we change the scoreboard so it only shows the top 20 (or something to that effect). It is a waste of space having each and every single persons score on the scoreboard.

Better yet, is there any way I can completely get RID of the scoreboard function and just have the High Scores and the Top Score Board only?

Either is fine, it's just that I prefer to go with the easiest way out. lol

Nice hack, working well, just need peeps to play ;) and some new games. Also need to sort out banner/heading files to have picture link to games instead of a text link.
