Looks like they've SEOed they're URLs. I'll have to redo the definition.

Thanks

As I mention in the first post folks, you've got to be specific when referring to errors and provide links where relevant. I can only presume your talking about the problem that we talked about on the last few pages. The fix is posted there several times, and the latest update included the updated definition. Or you're referring to something else altogether?

OK, I might found a solution that works (at least for me) for those who have trouble with youtube:
When I checked the definitions list in the Display Definitions page, I found there is more than one key for youtube, one called youtube and above it there is another one called DUPLICATE_youtube_1273010910_214 (it seems that it is there by some mistake), anyway, when I disabled the key DUPLICATE_youtube_1273010910_214, youtube videos work again.
It only works for the added-new videos, for the old ones, I had to manually edit posts which contain youtube videos. in fact I didn't edit anything in those posts except pressing the edit button then pressing the save button and videos showed up again.

I don't know what exactly has happened that caused this problem, but it appeared just about a month ago, as all videos which added one month before are working with out problem.

I also noticed that there are more than key for some sites( I don't know if there is other sites have the same problem as most of videos in my forum are from youtube).
I think it's better to uninstall this mod or or at least delete definitions, then reinstall it or import the definitions again.

Hope that helps some of you guys.

Good luck.

This happens when you update or reinstall. AME re-adds the two default definitions. If you already have definitions with those keys, you get the DUPLICATE_ definition you had there. Look closely and you'll see you have the original Amazon definition AME came with, too. It won't say DUPLICATE_ because my key names for Amazon are different.

Anyone else had this happen? I tried to read through the thread, but with 93 pages it feels like Im looking for a needle in a haystack.

I've seen this error before, and the only thing I can think of is there's a character limit imposed somewhere on your server. It may or may not be something you're allowed to control, depending on your host. If this problem keeps coming up, I'm going to consider breaking up the definitions into sets, as much as I loath the idea.

stardotstar 05-08-2010 12:14 PM

HI DJ,
I have been playing with this now but find that I am unsure exactly how some of the media embedding gets handled.
If say I have a photobucket image that I want to post - you can't just paste the link right? This still needs img tags around it - otherwise the system thinks it is a photobucket video? I have (searched and) read all the "photobucket" comments from the earlier pages and am not sure what the difference is or should be.
http://www.archeli.com.au/forums/sho....php?p=1234301

I also notice that my imageshack test did not recognise at all.
I pasted the link as is and it only shows as a link, eg:
http://img198.imageshack.us/i/hc12001.jpg/

I am using the latest Delta list.

I have ended up here because of the youtube embedding failure and now finding that the parsing of youtube works but have to edit and save older posts ... doing an update of ame does not help. (I'm pretty sure that this has been thoroughly covered but wanted to confirm that I have it right- this and ame are now pretty long threads)
Thanks for your work on this - its awesome and so core to my site.

Will

It must be that. You could do one broken up and one whole I guess. I didnt need all the definitions anyways because I have a video library and only needed the ones supported by it (and the badges cause those are pretty cool) so it wasnt a big deal for me.

Seem to be struggling with this!

When I import it says

Quote:

Can not save Import because of the following error(s):

* Some keys are empty
* Some keys contain invalid characters and must be validated prior to import.
So if I go to import just a single one, it says its imported but it dosent show in the "Display Definations"

Not sure if this has been posted before but, if you're having trouble importing definitions, what worked for me is creating a new xml file with just the specific definition I wanted.

Stagehandspace 06-07-2010 12:29 PM

I have been using this mod for some time, and feel its fabulous!!!

I have just as of last week to expand the number of sites that I am using and have added Daily Motion. So with that said I have the problem of the Video appearing with a title but nothing in regards to a video.

Here is the link of a video that I have uploaded for you to use for testing purposes.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdk...1-intro_webcam

Now I can get it to work if I wrap it myself and add swf as in the one below

[swfbb]http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video/xdkf3z[/swfbb]

But it doesn't show the title or the player

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

UPDATE

I have solved the problem as posted on page 85 of this thread

In order to make Dailymotion work again just change the "Embedding Regexp" from

http://[w\.]*dailymotion\.[com|alicet\.]+/swf/([\w]*)

to

http://[w\.]*dailymotion\.[com|alicet\.]+/swf/video/([\w]*)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW PROBLEM

Now the New Problem I have encountered is with Yahoo

Here is the link that I can not get more then a link to show up

http://ca.video.yahoo.com/watch/7606635/20185090

matthewhotdude 06-07-2010 01:13 PM

Dailymotion does not work for me either

Bonee70 06-07-2010 01:38 PM

Is this thread still supported or am I just asking the wrong questions?

Great mod btw, looking forward to get it up and running :)

The default YouTube definition is different from mine, as mine supports somethings like Deep Linking and the new URLs that come from people browsing in different languages, just as an FYI.

I can't see the current link, because you site is blocked from Guest viewing.

As for YouTube, yeah, I'm afraid it won't affect older posts. They would all have to be resaved in most cases. As for the ImageShack link, no, if you look at your definitions list, you'll see there are only definition for Slideshows and Video. Photobucket, too, shouldn't be touching images, but I see they messed with their URL structure again. That will have to be updated.

I presume your Validation Regex is empty now? It will need to be to work with YouTube anymore. Also, the added new URL strings, which was why I updated about a month ago. Since this was posted the week of May 10th, I presume this was due to the changes YouTube was making to their site during that week?

Sizes are controlled globally in the AME CP, so just set the dimensions you wan't for posts in the main setting. If just want to edit one particular site, then just change the dimensions in the embed code for that definition. Note that some definitions do not use the global resizing variables, so they would need to be set manually, too. However, in most cases, the reason they don't use it is because they dont' resize properly.

It looks me like you haven't cleared out your Validation Regex in your YouTube definition. That field needs to be blank now. Be sure that it's cleared out and resave that post and see if it embeds then.

Digital Jedi 06-17-2010 04:22 AM

If you got that update notification, there's no definition update here. I simply added the PSD file for the Downloads Badges. Enjoy!

Sorry, I must have overlooked your post. I don't recall if Yahoo! had the Canadian subdomain when it was first made, but fundamentally it hasn't changed since it was first released and didn't include support for the other country subdomains. It would need to be rewritten, but you can try adding a [\w.]* just after the http:// in the RegEx and see if that works. Or you can just post without the ca. in the URL.

TClaunch 06-18-2010 05:20 AM

Anybody gotten this to work with vBDynamics? All I get is a link to the video.

I don't know anything about vBdynamics, but I do know it works with vBadvanced, so I'm not certain why it would work with vBd, too. Although, it could just be because the posting sections of vBd are separate from vBulletin, from what little I know.

Validation is the very last field in a definition. For YouTube it needs to be blank now that they've changed their pages. Once you make any changes, you have to edit and re-save any posts you made to see if that corrects the problem. Make sure you have the most recent definition.

The MegaVideo URL is working fine for me when I test it. What exactly is it doing on your install?

As for Dailymotion, it appears they've changed their code again. So it will need to be updated.
