I never said I won't fix it but it's just that I don't see how I could, I haven't that problem on any of the chatbox I have installed :(

So I don't see how I could find what's wrong without experiencing it... This is like searching a niddle in a heystake !

Hello..

It possible to add a bbcode for music, midi, wav???

Thanks

quarum 05-25-2008 11:12 AM

One question - I am having troubles with the team command.

I go in and put the check mark in the boxes for the usergroups that I want to be able to use the /team command - and click save.

When the page reloads it is not saving the groups that I added - for some reason the only grups that it saves are the Admin, Super Mod and Moderators - any other groups it will not save to the team command.

I am guessing that I am missing something - any thoughts?

cheat-master30 05-25-2008 12:24 PM

I have a problem when installing, as it won't display on the main page. I tried editing the plugins as said, but while there are no errors, it still won't display on the main page even when said variable is inserted in the FORUMHOME template. Any way to fix this?

Certainly as bbcode are dedicated to the forum however this will need modifications to the chatbox if you want to make it work.

Have you set usergroup permission ?

Admin > MGC Chatbox Evo > Manage Commands > Team Command > Edit > Usergroups allowed to use this command and I put a check in the usergroups that I want to access the command then click save and when the page comes back up only the groups that can use it are Admins, Moderators and Super Moderators. None of the groups that I checkd are saved.

Oops, I forgot that part. Seems to be fixed now.

Edit: Oh, and why isn't it default to be able to use it and such like? Because this can be annoying when you have like... 20 optional usergroups...

cheat-master30 05-25-2008 07:02 PM

How do you unban someone from this mod? A mod banned another one as a test... and I don't know how to lift the shoutbox ban...

Edit: Never mind, it's a command. Should have also been a mod CP or Admin CP option though...

It's to ensure that admin do configure every usergroup features with great care.

It's not in the admincp nor the modcp because I wanted to separate the core of the chatbox from commands.

cheat-master30 05-25-2008 07:25 PM

I know it's for great care when changing permissions, but how come you can't just ask it to base the shoutbox permissions of those belonging to whatever group the currently edited usergroups overall permissions are based off of? Like group 1 is based off group 2, hence group 1 gets the group 2 shoutbox permissions?

VBDev 05-25-2008 07:43 PM

Because it uses the vBulletin permission system which is managed easily.

I won't make a complicated way to get usergroup permissions for the chatbox.

Bitwise there is no installer and for the moment I don't plan to make one so this is not really a plan to make what you ask I am sorry.

cheat-master30 05-25-2008 08:49 PM

No installer? Isn't it technically an installer when you import the product file after uploading the other files, since the product when imported is already meant to auto insert the shoutbox into the pages? And there's already installers for just about everything I can find in this mod (like the commands and such like).

VBDev 05-25-2008 08:57 PM

Yes it's an installed but it just do xml importing that's all.

For me a real installer is something you can interact with, where users have to select actions, not just import a file :)

quarum 05-25-2008 09:18 PM

I thnk my question got missed - how come I cant get it to save usergroups to the Team command? Go back a page - I have posted about this one already today and responded to the question you asked.

Thanks much

Hello,

We just installed this addon, and it's showing up in my VBoptions. It all appears to be configured correctly, but it's not showing up on the forum home page. Did I miss something? I've been looking at it for about an hour, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Stifler 05-26-2008 05:29 AM

I've purchased InfernoShout pro and it's completely not worth it.. it's horrible the support is horrible.. the features don't work and the owner doesnt have a vb license to test it on.. MGC Chatbox > All others (including the overpriced pay to use ones)

Oh yes sorry haven't seen your answer sorry.

It's strange, such problem had only been reported in the channel usergroup permissions edit not the command one.

I'll check that tonight on the current development version.

Great mod. If you follow the directions closely (inside zip), you should be able to get it to work. I got it working with several customizations and custom commands in under 30 mins.

Wow, what a m0m0. Ever hear of clicking the ? icon in the chatbox ;)

buckethead 05-26-2008 08:11 PM

I think I installed it properly: uploaded files under "Files" directory to my forum root. Uploaded files under "Images" directory to appropriate location. Imported the chat. Using Language Manager uploaded the lang. xml. And made it visible to admins (All set to YES) under usergroup permissions.

... but it's endlessly showing "Loading..."
and there are no JS errors

Also, I still see: "Entrez votre chat >>". In GLOBAL phrases it shows: "Enter your chat >>".
When I try to post a message first goes through (but not displayed, still Loading...) and for second one I get: "Error : A chat is already being processed, please wait.", so the first post did never go through.

vb 3.7.0

Need help.

I never said I didn't know about it I said that I can't debug without experiencing it (which seems logical).

There's no sense in manual editing phrases, you can change this text via chat formatting options.

And as for "Loading..."
The problem is in some phrases when you edit 'em. Re-upload of original language file can help. (If you have more than one language on your board try 2 switch 2 another language, and you'll see chat working)

Ok as you experience that problem on some of the board where you installed the chatbox, can you try the following (it's a temp modification to find out the problem).

Replace the content of the chatbox_refresh function in the mgc_cb_evo.js file by :
Code:

function chatbox_refresh(type)

{

    var handleSuccess = function(o){

        if(o.responseText !== undefined){

            fetch_object('chats').innerHTML = o.responseText;

        }

    }

    var handleFailure = function(o){

        if(o.responseText !== undefined){

            fetch_object('chats').innerHTML = o.responseText;

        }

    }

    var callback =

    {

          success: handleSuccess,

          failure: handleFailure

    };

  /* Reset inactive mode */

  if (chatbox_inactive)

  {

      chatbox_inactive = 0;

      idleTimeout = setTimeout("activate_idle_chatbox()", inactive_mode_delay);

  }

    /* Forced refreshed, lets do it */

    if(auto_refresh || (type == 'forced'))

  {

      clearTimeout(refreshTimeout);

        /* Type of refresh management */

        if (type == 'forced')

      {

            currentRefreshType = 'forced';

        }

      else

      {

            currentRefreshType = 'normal';

        }

        fetch_object('mgc_cb_evo_refresh_img').style.visibility = 'visible';

        /* Chatbox is inactive, refresh forced => session update */

        if (chatbox_inactive || force_session_refresh)

        {

            var sUrl = mgc_cb_evo_jsloc + 'mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php';

            var postData = 'do=ajax_refresh_chat&status=open&channel_id=' + channel_id + '&location=' + cb_location + '&first_load=1&securitytoken=' + SECURITYTOKEN;

            YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest('POST', sUrl, callback, postData);

      }

      else

      {

            var sUrl = mgc_cb_evo_jsloc + 'mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php';

            var postData = 'do=ajax_refresh_chat&status=open&channel_id=' + channel_id + '&location=' + cb_location + '&first_load=' + first_load + '&securitytoken=' + SECURITYTOKEN;

            YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest('POST', sUrl, callback, postData);

      }

      force_session_refresh = 0;

    }

  return false;

}

It shall put inside the chatbox an error message which will help us find out the silly problem.

Skyrider 05-26-2008 11:42 PM

If I may ask.. How do I unban or unignore people? I once banned myself and I was unable to unban myself.. And I also can't seem to find the unignore command either.

From VbDEV's script I receive a message: "You don't have permission to access /forum/mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php"

I tried changing the owner of the file to root with chown command. also tried chmod 777. Still the same message. What the problem may be?

You have a little button in the chatbox with a ? that explains all the comands syntax.
The unignore command users the same syntax as the ignore command except that's it off instead of on in the syntax. But you can unban users directly for a window if you use the ignored users displaying command.

You see that because I applied the modification I suggested to ranger187 above to your forum.

This might then come from a configuration of apache leading to such error.

Do you have problems with other ajax functionnalities of vBulletin ?

No. Vbulletin AJAX functionalities are working properly. Maybe it is Apache security issues that are not letting me access those files? How do you suggest me to tweak those?

Ranger187 05-27-2008 04:48 AM

I don't run apache. I'll try it on the Windows server now with the forum that has issues.

Incorrect. I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the languages at all.

That's odd that your files doesn't have the permissions while other vBulletin features has.

Permissions and owners for the mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php file and the ajax.php file of vBulletin are identical ?

Any error in firefox error console ?

Do you have an url with full access so that I can see ?
