hi all. I changed the templates and put in the ads in the settings. but no ads show up anywhere?! how can I make it so that my banner (amazon banner) shows up as post #2 when somebody started a new thread???

edit: ok now it works. But only if I am logged in. Guests don't see the ads.... can I change it so that everybody can see the ads?!

Just wondering how you did this. Did you make separate "Channel ID" fields accounting for different channels?

I think there's a glitch with the admins. If a mod or someone deletes a post on the page that the ad is on, the ad will repeat itself over and over again after every post. Only admins see this. Not sure about global mods or regular mods.

Somehow I was able to install it but it only seems to show when I'm logged in, is there any explanation for that ??? Also we where hoping to include an opt-in box in the left column, is there anyway to do that ??? Please help.

Got mine setup. I only use this for the custom feature since I wanted a rotating banner in my navbar. Works like a charm www.extremebodybuilding.net/forum

The only thing I'd suggest is making the navbar a default option since it seems to be a practical place to put a 468x60 banner but I think you mentioned including it in future upgrades.

Hi guys, I have looked through the thread but can not seem to find the answer.....to many pages :)

How would i set this up so my members just have to input their "pub-xxxxx" code so that their own google ads show up like they have on Digitalpoint?

Is there a way for the ads to only be shown to users who haven't logged in.

What I would like to see added to this mod is the ability to turn off only adverts.

Let me explain....

I use this mod to not only display adverts but also, at the top of the right column, I use it to show links to important parts of the site and the latest X posts in the forums. Then below that I have the adverts.

Since I cannot turn off just a part of the right column I have to use a second mod (Ultimate Side Columns) in a way that displays the links etc but no adverts and switch between the two depending on which usergroup a visitor is in.

If this mod could be changed in such a way as to use blocks for the side columns that can be turned off individually per usergroup it would save me from having to use a bunch of tricks trying to make use of two mods for the same area of the page.

Something like:

Block #1:

Usergroups to NOT display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)
Usergroups to display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)

Then a box to input code to display for these groups.

Block #2:

Usergroups to NOT display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)
Usergroups to display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)

Then a box to input code to display for these groups.

Block #3:

Usergroups to NOT display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)
Usergroups to display to; (text box for usergroup numbers)

Then a box to input code to display for these groups.


etc etc

This way I can have block #1 with the links and other stuff and Block #2 will be code for the adverts and they can be turned off for certain groups. It would allow me to keep my links but turn off the adverts and keep me from having to jury-rig the forums to get what I'm needing.

Does it allow you to add a different banner depending on which catagory / forum a user is viewing so we can target the banner to the area of interest being discussed in that catagory?

Does it allow you to add a URL to the banner so when the banner is clicked it sends the user off to the advertisers site?

I have access to the Ad Management, I added my code, but I see nothing!

I have installed this great hack and would like to know how I can add a randon banner code to display for PM's. I know where to put the code but dont know how to write the code so im hoping someone can help me out.

Basically I have several sponsors that I would like to rotate each of the sposnors banner in the PM area. I only want one banner to display at a time and change in every refresh.

Can anyone give the code for this

I been trying to get this block to vbadvanced to show my ad content for 2 days! LOL. Nobody will help. I cant figure out how to get the ads to show, but I got the block up ok. Anyone know what code I need to add and where?

Any possibility to include ad stats in the future version? A simple monthly click and view stats would be great. This way the sponsors could see how many times their ads were clicked. I'm using openads now, but it slows down my site badly, esp when I have 100+ members at once browsing the forum

Stats are unlikely to be included. I suggest you use Google Analytics which is far superior to anything I would integrate.

How could I integrate google analytics for the forum sponsors? Include seperate code for each banner? How could I do one analytics account where all sponsors could log in and check their banner's activity?

You tag each link and Google Analytics tracks them. It doesn't allow sponsors to log in and check at your forum but that's not something I'd do anyway, I'd send out an email of statistics. If I were to include statistics.

I think that option was removed in more recent versions, if it wasn't then it will certainly be removed by version 4. Usergroups should be used instead.

Well, i have got some problem on board.
I want to include Google ads on forumbits and thread bits.
I have listed all forum id's in the box, but only first 3 shows me the ads, others just have a blank space.

Google limits the amount of advertisments displayed per page.

i still haven't updated to this version..seems to be having many problems.

There are no confirmed bugs that I am aware of.
