When importing the xml Im getting "Invalid File Specified"

Im guessing this doesnt work with 3.6.5 ??

also that Invalid File specified when imported in admin panel... :-s help please:-s

so it doesn't find the required files to install. I changed the name inside the installation file but still get this:

I tried posting in the support forums but it wouldn't allow me to post so I hope someone here can help out.

Everytime I try to install this script I get Could not find phrase 'invalid_or_empty_style_file'. Even AFTER I added the [phrases. A little help please?

first it cant find xml file.after copying this file to root folder second error will appear.

loaded the upload files to the right place ...... when installing says unable to find .xml in directory" ...... even though it is uploaded to the admincp dir .....

Im running 3.6.7 and I also have vbShout pro version installed (which btw is the absolute nuts) ....

any idea's ???

Same problem here (vb 3.6.6). I got around the vbchat.xml problem by copying it from admincp to the forum root, but still get 'invalid_or_empty_style_file'. Pity, this mod looks really promising

I do not believe that this hack is for vB 3.6.x. At least it doesn't say so in the description of the hack above.

Yeah stupid me, it does say it's for VB 3.0, and the mod was last updated 2005.

So the next question is obviously, what's a good alternative? I'm aware of 'flashchat' which intergrates to some degree with VB, but I've never been that keen on it

Someone modify the 3.5.x version to 3.6.x por favor?

Not sure I want to try flashchat either, I don't fancy the layout.

Now i would like to upgrade to 3.6.8 ... but i am afraid vBchat won't work.... really don't know.

Has anybody tried the version given by Cornie, with 3.6.8 ?

Same here. Once installed, I did search & replace on the german phrases using a free online german-english translator.

How can I hack vbChat to make it open in some default-sized window instead of the maximized window that it always opens?

EDIT: Found it. The navbar template has javascript that opens screen height and screen width. I changed the dimensions there. Googled javascript window.open for syntax.

I get this problem when installation..

I had the same problem with my 3.6.7 PL1! I upload the file "vbchat.xml" to the root directory ..... after that i get a message "invalid_or ...... phrase not found"

i got this working on my 3.6.8 board for a moment, then i realized i forgot to upload the english version of cornie's file and when i did that i get nothing but a database error now

Cause the emoticons do not work out for me?

I have downloaded vbchat 2.3 and i uploaded all files as indicated in the right folders but when i try to install i receive the error:

but the xml file is there..

On line 149 of the install file, it just gives me the error of "Could not find phrase 'invalid_or_empty_style_file'."

i have correctly uploaded the files like the vBChat 2.3 Installation (FRESH).txt says

I've got the same problem. I'm guessing since this addon is no longer supported, we won't be getting a fix for it for versions 3.6+ (I'm running 3.7.2). I looked through the support forum, but the last post was made in 2006. So... anyone have ideas for alternatives? Is Flashchat still our only alternative?

give us a fix please for install this on 3.7.2 nice hack !!:)
