BUMP! This is a bug I believe .. :)

Alan_SP 04-14-2012 11:30 PM

I just stopped using this file edit. Especially as HIDE BBcode doesn't work in light version. It works in pro version, but it really messes things.

Just skip it. :)

cric2k 04-15-2012 11:42 PM

Just installed this tonight and it's completely stopped one of my own custom plugins working. It's quite a simple plugin to include a php file.

Code:

ob_start();
$getfile = "/var/www/vhosts/*****.com/httpdocs/includes/getForumImage.php";

$PageTitle = $foruminfo[title_clean];

  require_once($getfile);

  $php_include = ob_get_contents();
ob_end_clean();
vB_Template::preRegister('headinclude',array('php_include' => $php_include));

Any ideas why this would stop working when this product is enabled?

cric2k 04-17-2012 08:26 PM

So I figured out where the issue is but not how to fix it, when trying to register variables in my custom plugin using "vB_Template::preRegister('headinclude',array('php _include' => $php_include));" this Product breaks the registration somehow.

cric2k 04-17-2012 08:42 PM

Finally after hours of looking, the plugin 'Navbar Link' which includes one of your files breaks the registration of variables into templates from other plugins.

Hello

I have installed it on 4.1.5
but i can't see buttons: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...7&d=1275100545

Can't say I would know how to solve that then, thus far I don't believe we've had any other conflicts with any other mods :(

Ensure you've set up usergroup permissions in the Button Management interface. If you cannot see this interface, please ensure you've set yourself to Super Administrator in config.php

I just loaded this up and I can't see the admin for this in usergroups and I am "super admin".
I am showing the drop down menu under the user avatar but that's it.

Alexires 04-21-2012 08:29 AM

Hi, I've been playing with this as I'm having a formatting problem. It seems that the "Thank/Like/Dislike" bar is appearing between the posts, making it difficult to work out which post it is applying to (if that makes sense). How do I go about putting a space between the "Thank/Like/Dislike" bar and the next post?

I've played with some options, but I can't seem to get it to place a space ONLY after the bar. It either puts on in before AND after the bar, or not at all...

No, it's not in Usergroup Manager. It's in the left side menu of the AdminCP, as DBTech - Post Thanks :)

Try adding it to the dbtech_thanks_postbit_entries template :)

Also, the Pro version lets you integrate this bar into the signatures, amongst other things :)

I would love to move the Thanks and Like options up to the link where it also has "Blog this Post" and "Promote this Post to Article" and then show the likes and thanks within the post, before the signature, as VB does. The way this mod shows it by default is a little cumbersome, IMO.

Does anyone know what template changes would need to happen to do that? I looked at the pro version, but that wouldn't do what I want.

wishtheend 04-21-2012 10:50 PM

Anyone know how to edit the template to move the thank you box to become flush underneath the postfoot, rather than have it have that padding between the post and the thank box?

Alan_SP 04-22-2012 06:00 AM

This is a pro feature. I did it with template and file edits (you need to edit files, not just templates), but I had problems with posts written by people who used mobile style. Don't know if it makes problem even in pro version of mod, but with my file edits it didn't worked completely fine.

Anyway, as it is pro feature, I want tell here what I did. If you know how to achieve on your own, you can do it. And you may avoid problems I had when using mobile style (it may also depend on mobile style you're using).

The Pro version, like Alan said, lets you relocate the box - it won't remove the padding if you leave the list beneath the post, though, as this is a "limitation" with the vBulletin postbit on vB4 :)

Hi, I only see Drop Down Manuel in users information area. Installed in 4.1.11 but no button showing up yet.

DragonByte Tech 04-22-2012 04:06 PM

To get buttons to show up, enter Button Management in the AdminCP under DBTech - Post Thanks and set the "Can Click" permissions for each button :)

If you don't see the DBTech - Post Thanks ACP group, please add yourself to super administrators via config.php

For the Pro version i ended up taking it out completely as it's redundant when you activate the 'Integrate Action Buttons' option; also nudged the actual thanks / likes container up a bit so it's flush with the bottom of the post. Example.

To do this I changed the dbtech_thanks_postbit_entries template to:

PHP Code:

<vb:if condition="$show['dbtech_thanks_area']">
<
vb:if condition="$show['dbtech_thanks_li']">
<
li class="postbitlegacy postcontainer" style="border:0px;">
<
vb:else />
<
div style="clear:both;">
</
vb:if>
    <
div class="postdetails" id="dbtech_thanks_entries_{vb:var post.postid}" style="margin-top:-11px;">
        {
vb:raw entries}
    </
div>

    <
vb:if condition="$actions">
    <
div class="postfoot">
        <
div class="textcontrols">
            <
span class="postlinking">
                {
vb:raw actions}
            </
span>
        </
div>
    </
div>
    </
vb:if>
<
vb:if condition="$show['dbtech_thanks_li']">
</
li>
<
vb:else />
</
div>
</
vb:if>
</
vb:if>

Nice, especially as you disabled viewing APTL for guests, so we need to register if we want to see what you did. And, yes, I did try to see what you did, but you directed us to the thread that is graphically intensive, loaded with numerous animated gifs...:down:

You're welcome.

I didn't realise a thread with a lot of ATPL activity would be so scary. Since providing a description and code wasn't enough, if you PM me your address i'll pop round later and type it in for you to test for yourself.

Edit: incidentally, when I posted that link ATPL was actually visible to guests. I've since disabled it since guests (and search engines) probably don't care if registered users liked something.

Thanks so much for your edit. I had messed around with the template on my install of the pro, and wasn't able to get it to do this. Your edit cleared up a lot of issues - thanks again!

Dr Aj642 05-15-2012 06:52 AM

Is this mod just Thanks and Like or can you choose which one to display for users to select?

Thanks

Pmaurer 05-16-2012 01:07 AM

I recently installed this on my forum, version 4.1.12 and it seems to have installed correctly, however, when I go to manage the Usergroups, there is no DBTech category listed. Furthermore, when I check out regular post topics, there doesn't appear to be any kind of Post Thanks / Like options anywhere. have I done something wrong?

You can add / remove buttons as you wish via the Button Management interface in the AdminCP :)

Usergroup permissions are configured in the Button Management interface. If you do not see this interface under the DBTech - Post Thanks AdminCP menu group, please add yourself to Super Administrators in config.php, or log on your Super Administrator account and grant your normal Admin account the Can Administer Advanced Post Thanks / Like permission :)

I'm already in the config.php file as a Super Administrator. Is there any other reason why that interface wouldn't show up?

Also, if I can't get this to work can you recommend another similar mod to use? Thanks.

Thanks. Downloaded it and giving it a go. Looks pretty good so far.

I'm only using the 'Like' option. Is there anyway to rename it from saying ''Post Thanks / Like''

And is it possible to move the button at all. Say from below the post to next to ''Reply'' or is that in Pro version?

If you didn't uploaded all files (or not uploaded them in their proper location), that also could cause this.

No, unless you didn't upload the /includes/xml files to their correct folders.

There's no rename feature at this time, sorry :(

The Pro version lets you integrate the action buttons next to the Promote to Article button, and also move the actual block above or below a user's signature.

Hi,

you write on install:

Code:

4. Configure your Usergroup settings by clicking "Manage Buttons" under
"DBTech - Post Thanks" in your AdminCP navigation menu, then
editing each button and setting your usergroup permissions from there.

I dont see this on AdminCp - what I miss ?
