matthewhotdude 06-08-2010 10:12 PM

tommac3 06-08-2010 10:58 PM

Is there a way to convert the users from this mod to the one that is in VB4.0

SpeedJunkyz 06-10-2010 07:36 PM

Hello love this mod!!....questions though

Is there a way they can choose their username? Or is it only what the FB name is?
Also is there a way to link the fb log in with their already existing account on my forum?

cache 06-19-2010 02:57 AM

I tried both, neither one works.

They both work. If a facebook login guest doesn't choose to provide an email address, they'll get an error message..

YOU MUST ENTER AN EMAIL ADDRESS.

Which brings me to this question, Does anybody know where we can edit this reference on the login form?

Set email notification settings.

I would like to add the word "MANDATORY"

This way facebook members will know they "MUST" enter an email address.

What is the point to use this now when Facebook is removing Facebook Connect?

Now we just need a Twitter connect, or something like Disqus's log-in system that connects many social networks to vBulletin.

imedic 07-14-2010 12:24 PM

There is a modification working here where you can connect with gmail, yahoo, AIM .... and Facebook.
It seems to work.
Does anyone know where you can find it as I have searched for it and didnt find?

Ip.Boards have Twitter connect built in, it rocks!!

Tenth Doctor 07-15-2010 12:41 PM

Is there something like that available for Twitter integration with vBulletin?

MortysTW 07-15-2010 11:15 PM

Does this work for 4.0 ? Trying to do a search in this thread but it's saying 4.0 is to short a search term. Sorry if this was asked already.

BigJohnny 08-07-2010 03:33 AM

the settings on facebook that need to be changed according to the install file don't appear to match correctly.

Once I click login with fbconnect, it says thanks for logging in Bigjohnny, but then returns me to forumhome without being logged in.

BigJohnny 08-07-2010 07:07 PM

ok so I got this working, then deleted the facebook application, and had to recreate it.

I was previously able to post. now I cannot. I know it's been answered before about the enhanced editor, but it was working with it enabled and now it's not.

I've made some changes but I can't figure out why the heck I can't post.

even disabling FBconnect in the product manager won't allow me to post a thread.

Same problem here.

sunnylikbeckham 08-08-2010 06:28 PM

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

i able to pass on the 1st page
than it asks what username you want
when i put anything there and click submit gets that error

Make sure you meet the requirements in the first post.

This has been answered a number of times in this thread. This is not a mod issue, but an editor issue. The 'enhanced editor' has known issues with multiple addons. Switch to the 'standard editor' in your profile, and you'll have no problem.

I have no idea why the advanced editor does this, but it does this with almost every single plugin that interacts with posts.

well I'd like to know what it is that causes the problems, but it seems the author has been banned.

Is this compatible with YAFB?

It ALMOST works, it connects to facebook, user almost logs into site but http://mysite.com/forums/fblogin.php is returning 500 error. The file is there, but there's something wrong with the way it is delivered. So, that's where this is at.

I know FB connect works on other sites, what gives...

Wonksta 08-12-2010 12:52 PM

I am also getting

Code:

Fatal error:  Uncaught exception 'FacebookRestClientException'  with message 'action_links-href URL is not properly formatted' in  /home/xxx/public_html/vb/includes/facebook/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php:2403 Stack  trace: #0  /home/xxx/public_html/vb/includes/facebook/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php(661):  FacebookRestClient->call_method('facebook.feed.r...', Array) #1  /home/xxx/public_html/vb/xxx/fbconnect_registertemplates.php(34):  FacebookRestClient->feed_registerTemplateBundle(Array, Array, NULL,  Array) #2 {main}  thrown in /home/xxx/public_html/vb/includes/facebook/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 2403

mykkal 08-12-2010 05:06 PM

So whats the deal Is the new version working or not?

mykkal 08-12-2010 05:12 PM

Everytime I post I get this:
Supplied template data does not cover the following tokens [threadurl, threadtitle] needed for template '{*actor*} replied to {*threadtitle*}.'

WTF does this mean? Where is the damned developer?

mykkal 08-12-2010 08:20 PM

man... lol. i'm so screwed right now.

Wonksta 08-13-2010 06:09 AM

Is this working for anyone presently?

Facebook to Kill Facebook Connect
According to this blog, this is the reason why we're all having problems with FB connect:
http://www.devcomments.com/Forum-vBu...t-to181968.htm

Now i need to know what happens to all my FB users now that it's dead in the water...

BigJohnny 08-15-2010 11:53 AM

can you not merge users from the FB usergroup into your registered users group?
