Yes. And as a result, you don't get the "new post" notification.

ragtek 10-20-2009 04:37 PM

Just a little whish, please use a own file, instead of misc.php & hooks, it would make debuging/development much easier;)

TNCclubman 10-20-2009 04:57 PM

ragtek, when we upload a new misc.php (like when vB3.8.5 comes out, will this mod stop working? (just installed it a few days ago)

Trek 10-20-2009 05:19 PM

I really hope the reason support for this has been stopped is that he's writing a VB4 version... I love this mod and basically NEED it to run VB4 for my site. If it's about money, let's talk. =)

Support suck please bury this mod to the grave...

If you bother to read the header of this mod page it clearly states that it is not supported, however if you care to check back through the threads you will see the developer has given a lot of support despite that!

Anyway what do you want for free?

I understand its a free mod and no support but to answer such a simple request is not much to ask expecially when you have time to respond to my post with a lame response...

with all this said this is a great mod and would love to use it but like everyone people encounter issues and the point is to resolve these issues so that others cant read how to fix them, does not have to be the developer to respond but someone that had the same issue, would be nice to hear from the coder since this is his code and he would understand it better but yet I understand him no wanting to spend time supporting this any longer, maybe someone else can take it over.

TNCclubman 10-21-2009 12:45 PM

like what issues?

Yes I am posting something like 3840 characters and the message says my limit is 2500 characters. I did go to my vb settings and changed it from 2500 characters to 0 which is disabled and I still get the same message.. Confussed.

Simon Lloyd 10-21-2009 07:01 PM

Try setting it to 4000 and see how you go if it works then your not exceeding your max post limit in php.config

If you'd like admin access to view it, I can give you a test login that'll allow you to edit the forms on my board.

I have the same problem, you solved?
Thanks

I've been playing about with this morning and from what I can work out when this happens it's because the process has failed put an action type into the database.

All I went and done was manually change the action type from a 0 to a 3 to specify post in thread (via phpmyadmin). It's not ideal but at least it seems like it's working for me now (which is my main concern).

Thanks for the help, It was a rather silly question,

I did have a look at your form link, but I dont have access to it.

If someone has done an interesting form, I would love to see it?

Thank

Is it possible to send a PM to the user who completed the form?

Thanks for the help in advance...

like to add {username} to the "Send PM to user" option?? (that doesnt work rigt now)

career 10-29-2009 01:01 PM

pls need your advice.

How can I:

1. create new thread with only first 3 questions (q_1, q_2, q_3) and send PM with others for example q_1, q_2, q_4, q_5 ?

2. create new thread already with prefix i.e. without choosing it in the form ?

Deimos 10-31-2009 11:03 AM

Works fine on one of my forums, but not on another
Same problem as posted earlier in this thread, I create the initial form, then when I go to set the option of where I want the form to be sent, it doesn't save and redirects me to the profile.php?do=editusergroups page.

orchidsi 11-03-2009 03:51 AM

Love the hack. Now how do I get it to inherit the subforum rules? Like every post is moderated... TIA!

chsmith700 11-05-2009 08:19 PM

How can I get this to post in two forums? I have it installed and I need it to create a new thread in two of my forums.

chsmith700 11-05-2009 08:41 PM

Nevermind, I found out how to doit.

Zarxrax 11-06-2009 08:17 PM

I have this mod set up so that when people submit a form, it creates a new thread. Is there any way that I can let them automatically subscribe to that thread? Some users submit a form, and then forget to ever come back and check it.

blue6995 11-09-2009 09:44 AM

I'm using the Email Form only because I want to go to our support group. The form and data comes through fine but the format is just one big block of text.

Example (current format):

First Name Billy bob last name thorton company company name here address 4444 love you long time lane etc

I want the email out put to follow the same format as the online form

Example of what I'd like:

First Name: Billy Bob
Last Name: Thorton
Company : Compane name here
Address: 555 Love you long time lane

How can I do this? Thank you!

Veer 11-14-2009 09:56 PM

This is not working on vb4, any news about updating it to vb4?

Trek 11-14-2009 11:23 PM

As the mod is listed as unsupported, I dunno.... but I really hope it's updated as I use this a lot and it's going to really hurt to lose it.

F.S.A 11-15-2009 02:26 AM

I love this mod very much and I was so happy when I found it. Today I installed it on vB4.0 beta 3 but it didn't work.
Hope you can manage to update it for the new VB. version.

cozmin 12-01-2009 12:16 PM

I tried them and they didn't work for me.

djbaxter 12-01-2009 12:49 PM

It's Ctrl+click and it does work. Try reloading the page or emptying your cache.

i hope so, i used it alot.. and loved it :D
but he havent been online since oct.
so proberly either have to edit it ourself, or someone to takeover the project.
if we are going to see a vb4 conversion

Trek 12-14-2009 08:13 PM

Yeah. hopefully this will get ported, I use this a lot and it makes my forums MUCH nicer for having it. Hopefully the author will pick it back up as he writes some really awesome mods, but with him being gone and changing everything to unsupported... I don't have much hope.

arkkhoax 12-14-2009 08:54 PM

This hack has become very valuable to a lot of us. I know if the author charged a fee to fund development I would gladly pay it as this is an invaluable addition to my site.

Scalemotorcars 12-14-2009 09:24 PM

Same here. Great mod its proving very valuable to my site already. Thanks...
