1) Great, i didn't saw that.
2) Some mail providers doesn't like extra headers like the one used for bouncing, (eg hotmail, and may ban your domain for it), that's why i asked you to create a switch.

anyway, i've removed it temporally from the plugin file :D

i'm waiting yout next version :), in the meantime i'm trying to integrate ez bouncing mail sistem to yout hack

to integrate ez into this you just need to replace my headers with theirs..

Yay! I came to suggest that because bearing in mind the quantity of server-setups, support here, and questions will be easier for the hack to have the ability to disable the bounce... me personally I don't need it, but waiting on the final release :up:

VB v3.6.0, Inactive v1.2.7

i am getting the following error when i send a test mail

"Admin Hash Mismatch"

i have not setup the 'bounce' feature (VB is on the intranet, i know 100% of all emails used are active and legit)
users do not get sent an email even tho it says it has been processed

edit: FYI, the inactive does work - problem with spam filter!

Just a little more feedback for you.

In your mod you have two different messages for inactive users, right ?
I wonder your idea was change the messages for not to look as a regular spam and those should alternate from the first to the second, right ?

OK, the first one is sent perfectly but the second one is marked as junk by hotmail and spam by others. Only with the second one.
I notived the sender of those e-mail are kind of messy, It show admin e-mail writen twice and probably spam system are marking them because they consider it as an invalid e-mail address.
Funny but only on second message.

I have a problem with this addon.

When I try to send a test email; It takes my frame back to login screen with this.

"To continue this action, login using the admin account that intiated the action."

What could cause the problem ? I searched this thread but didnt come with anything useful.

From what you describe, there is something in your vB setup that is causing vB to be confused into thinking that the 'user' that clicked the submit button is different from the 'user' to which vB is being instructed to send the results. That's a no-no and a no-go.

vB thinks that it is being told to send the results of your action to a different user than the one that initiated the action.

That could be:

Because you're logged on in another browser (window) as a different user and vB is getting confused,

OR: you have cookies turned off or blocked by a firewall somewhere in your network,

OR: maybe you have cookies disabled and you have a multi-homed IP configuration so that vB sees two or more different IP addresses for your session[s],

OR: some other bit of unusual configuration in your setup -- repeat emphatically, your particular setup.

The content of the error message you are receiving combined with the fact that [apparently] no one else is getting this problem seems to point to it being a configuration &/or routing issue someplace inside your system.

Good luck! Please post if you figure it out so that others who run into it will be helped.

if a user selects in their usercp to not receive emails from admins will they still get this recurring inactive email? or is there a way for them to "unsubscribe" and not receive it any more? if not this turns into spam and the only way to stop it is delete their account, not good.

So, are people having problems with the new versions? I am confused lol. I am still on version 1.1.1 lol - a little scared to update considering people are saying they are having problems. Thanks for the help.

This is working in VB 3.8. I had it installed on 3.7 and updated my forum to 3.8. But it will not install on a 3.8 forum.

But, the script sends out a random number of emails instead of just one a day. One day a dozen reminder emails might get sent out, the next day 5, the next day 1.

What is causing the script to send out more then one reminder email daily? The script is set to run once a day at noon. It runs, but sends out a random number of email reminders. Some of my members have sent me messages asking why they got 6 emails of the exact same thing within seconds of each other.

yeah that's my problem too, members are sending me mails that they get tired from the mass mails of reminders that they receive form the board. it is set to sent out 1 mail and then another one after that but sometimes people got 15 mails a day........... :confused:

I have this working on 3.8.0 and seems to be OK, I mean it's not sending out several reminders to the same person everyday. I set up a few test users just to monitor this issue reported here and seems to be OK.

Anyway, I've been using this since 3.7.1 and after upgraded to 3.8.0 still works the same way. I honestly don't know how would be its behavior in a fresh start on 3.8

Just one thing about, I've never set up anything about bounced e-mails, gave up on this since the beginning.

This is one of the most important mods on my board and help a lot to keep a good balance between registred and inactive users. Some fixes and extras touches would be even more appreciated for sure.

But I was just trying to help those here with more needs than mine, you know, at least I got it running and it seems most here don't.

This is exactly what I was looking for, BUT I am using 3.2.8 and when I try to install I get informed that this is the wrong version for my board. Any workaround or different file known for this?

I'm assuming you meant 3.82 of vBulletin, not 3.28.

First, make sure you have the latest version of this add-on: version 1.27. If that still won't import, do the following:

1. Open the XMIL product installer file (e.g., product-remindermail.xml).
2. Near the top, around line 10, find this line:
   
   Code:

   ---

   <dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.7.0" maxversion="" />

   ---

3. Change that line to read:
   
   Code:

   ---

   <dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.7.0" maxversion="3.999" />

4. Save the file and try to import it again.

this plugin adds Inactive Reminders By Icora Web Design to the forum footer and is only visible to guests ! why is that ?

We just upgraded from 1.1.1 and noticed that we have no cron entry for this product anymore.

Am I missing something?

Just tried to install it to 3.8.4 and got error message that it's only for boards running at least 3.6 and not 3.7 or greater...

So...

...any plans or other hacks as good as this one, for 3.8.4 ?
